I had a feeling of deja vu when I bootscooted up the short steep hill to the famous Sheilas Hostel for my week long stay in happy friendly Cork ... A sense of coming home and a very welcoming staff to greet me ... A unique building among a cute row of georgian mansions perched above St Patrick's Church , the old town and the Lee River... The winding staircase with ornate balustrades takes you up to a rabbit's warren of different rooms with high ceilings and large windows with plenty of ventilation ... The current bed bunks are being replaced with new , better bunks with power sockets and privacy curtains ... Improvements are happening all the time ... The kitchen is grouse with cooktops , stoves and fridges ... The dining room has funky repurposed sewing tables to add to the special ambience ... All in all Sheilas Hostel is a unique establishment with a good all round vibe ... Memories are made when you stay at a place like this .

I had a one night stay at Sheila's Hostel. I was greeted by a warm and friendly young man at the front desk who was well mannered and helpful. The walking spaces in the room were narrow but ok for my short stay, the bed was clean and had privacy curtains and secure cages underneath for belongings - note you do need to bring your own lock. The communal kitchen was well organised and appeared stocked with all the utensils you’d need. Communal bathrooms are unisex, which I understand is standard throughout the hostel. I stayed in an ensuite female only room. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the bus station.

I liked very much the location. The curtains in the beds, and the big box for save my luggage during my days. The kitchen is complete, and works 6am until 22h30 or 23h30 i'm not sure now, but is a good time.

The showers have a short timing and turn off the water, so you need press a lot of times during your shower. is bad for your shower moment, butnis good for the planet sustainability. I didn't like to pay for keep my luggage safe for some hours before my check-in, but i understand that's a business.

Accidently booked a mixed door but felt super safe. So many bathrooms and communal areas, kitchen with baskets you can leave food. Always clean, when cleaners come in to change bedding for those who check out they are always quite never heard them. Beds have plugs, usb and light. Staff are super helpful and theres always someone 24hrs a day which was super helpful when I accidentally left my key card in my room. Super close to town, bus station, train station and near a local shop open pretty late but they also have drinks you can buy at the hostel. Some bathrooms had hairdryers and some not you just have to check them.

Only bad thing I'd say is no curtains on beds but if your bottom bunk easy to hang towels ect for privacy and you get used to it after a while.

Great service, dedicated staff, friendly guys. Very clean bed linen, proximity to local shops. Parking (although it is always full and you may not be able to park)

The shower had chewing gum on the floor that had been there for the entire week. In other words, the floor and walls had not been washed for days, causing problems such as the transmission of skin diseases. Infrastructure. I complained about the radiator not working, I know someone went to the room to fix it, but they didn't notice. The floor heating system was weak, perhaps to reduce costs, I took showers in water that was too lukewarm to cold and in cold environments.

Clean hostel !!!! Wooow !!! Overnight parking free ,but after8.30am €2.50 /HR , clean bathroom clean rooms - clean toilet,friendly service amazing. Breakfast for € 4 .00 almost free. Absolutely 100% intercom this place. Beds - I have some curtains so it's a little pricey like that. Noise - it's okay 10.30 people still walking but it's not disturb on my peace. Good place ,close to city centre. If I need accommodation for one night definitely I will come back.thank you, Worth for money 🍻❤️

Everything was good

It was a nice place, very Gen z, with extremely friendly staff and nice facilities. The beds and toilets were clean and nice and there was a mirror in the room and each bed had a charging port with a little light. It was a very nice stay. I felt safe since it was a women’s dorm aswell so that was nice.

The staff is very nice and helpful in giving information and solving small inconveniences. The large kitchen allows you to leave everything you need to cook your own meals. The common areas are just large enough to be able to socialize, larger would be better but given the layout of the hostel I think it's not possible to go beyond that. Very useful is the locker with enough space even for large suitcases. The location is good for not being in downtown traffic and being able to rest without too much noise and get to the center in a short time.

Breakfast is a bit poor with few things, I suggest to increase a little bit the price but add something more. Wouldn't mind having the common rooms a little bigger. The bed squeaked a bit, being a bunk bed if someone already sleeps in the room this can be a bit annoying. Some of the bathrooms are a little small, but it's not really a negative point, you just have to arrange it.

The location was central and we could connect the town easily. The hotel environment was nice cozy. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The security in the hotel was great.

They could not fix the heating system in our room till we left. The water heating system in our room was not fixed till we checked out.

Great value for money and fantastic location. We felt really safe and the staff were friendly and helpful. The desk is covered 24 hours which was perfect for our late night adventure in Cork. It was just what we needed for a spontaneous fun girly weekend.

The beds weren’t the most comfortable but they were perfect for a night. The taps were very powerful which took us by surprise but after we’d soaked the bathroom once we learnt how to use it carefully.
