Ballyvolane is an excellent location, in a lovely country ambiance, anyones dream. The house is beautiful and full of character with lots of period furniture and architecture which I really enjoyed.
I can understand the necessity of keeping the character and style of the house as ab original as possible, but I was disappointed that there were no showers in the bathrooms. For the price and also to satisfy modern trends a shower is essential. I am 76 and I certainly would not have attempted to climb into and out of the period bathtub that is in the bathroom. I was told that only one of the rooms and a shower. Also the shaver socket wasn't working, but I am sure that this is just a temporary issue, or maybe I just didn't use it properly, even after I used the pull switch for the overhead light.

Ballyvolane is that sort of place you very rarely stumble upon. A happy respite from the journey, that is relaxed, friendly and atmospheric with a soft golden light and a gentle luxury. You feel like a welcome guest into a special home. For those traveling for work, the essentials: -Beds extremely comfortable -Good shower with lots of warm water -Good Internet -Nespresso machine with homemade biscuits and very nice homemade cordial. -The breakfast was a good fry, not greasy with acres of tea. -No gym, but good walks around the grounds (you can run comfortablely if youre that way inclined) -I didn't have dinner, but it is available. -The staff are lovely, and the owners perfectly charming without seeming insincere or overbearing. - Youre VERY much in the countryside, but the roads there are pretty decent and you're not at all far Fermoy.
Bit pricey, but in this economy it's better value than an awful lot of far worse places.

A beautiful authentic old Manor House, furnished with wonderful antiques and decorated with interesting objects, art and photos. Gorgeous painted doors and lovely drapery. Very comfortable with a vibe that only age can bring. Great breakfast. Lovely staff.
Could not fault anything at all.

I loved the atmosphere in the house. I couldn’t fault the food, dinner on both nights was exceptional. I am still dreaming about the custard tart! The staff are more than helpful and go out of their way to ensure you have a memorable stay.
The only thing that I felt initially let our room down was that there was no shower. However, I think that the long leisurely baths only aided our relaxing! It was just what we needed!

The accommodation experience exceeded expectations. It was really comfortable and I liked it very much.
Forgot to mention/not dissatisfied: the hair dryer in room 2 was broken, because it was dinner time, I didn't inform you, I used the one in room 5.
