Good, comfortable room. Beds were a little bit firm for my liking but decent. Stayed on the 4th floor and elevator/lift only went to the 3rd floor. So we had to carry our bags up the stairs. We ate dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel and it was good. Breakfast was very nice - we both got smoked salmon and eggs. Finished up the night with drinks at the local bar next door.
No fan in the room so it was a little stuffy. The bathroom was fairly big but the tub/shower area was very tight and hard to use. Had to park on the street about a block away and walk to the hotel.

The breakfast was consistently delicious and the service was great. The staff in the restaurant were absolutely fabulous and the food was 5 star! We loved the location of the Bosun but did wish there was more to do in Monkstown.
When we checked in we were given a different room than the one we had booked and paid for online. This mistake was fixed after I questioned it.

The receptionist was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was a traditional Irish breakfast, excellent and served in a cute dining room. The bed was very comfy. We had a good nights rest after traveling all day. There is a nice walking path which runs next to the river right across the street.
The facilities were a bit dated. Small bathroom, but worked for the two of us. We were only there for one night, so it was perfect. There is a very good restaurant downstairs, which was both convenient and excellent food and service. A local pub right next door has live music, if you're into that. Kinda noisy at night, though.

The adjoining pub had food Breakfast included I see there's a bus stop so I assume there's a bus Good sized and comfortable bed Spotlessly clean. Plenty of supplies Elevator!
The "on site" parking is actually a public car park across the road, not specific to the property. I got lucky both nights but it was very busy on the Saturday. If you are on holiday you will need a car for here. No late breakfast Sunday, 10am a bit early finish for a weekend sitting. Not a lot in the immediate vicinity but that might not be an issue for everyone. Bit pricey for a b&b.

I recently stayed at the Bosun Hotel in the charming village of Monkstown, just 25 minutes from Cork. This peaceful location is perfect for escaping the city's hustle and bustle. The hotel was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, with friendly staff ensuring a pleasant stay. The area offers a lovely boardwalk and residential neighborhoods, ideal for leisurely exploration and fishing opportunities. Overall, the Bosun Hotel is a fantastic retreat with inviting accommodations and great dining options. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting the Cork area!
Need to have more options for the continental breakfast . Only provided two options .

I stayed as a solo traveller, I ate in the bosun bar food was beautiful & portion were super sized. The bedroom was spacious & perfectly clean. The heating was on and the room was cosy warm. I overslept and missed breakfast, the bed was so comfortable the chef asked if I wanted breakfast but unfortunately I had to go, I will be back soon as I will be travelling for work again. I am delighted I chose the bosun, it’s a home away from home comfort, service with a warm welcome, looking out directly onto cork harbour towards cobh. Just beautiful
Nothing. It exceeded my expectations.

This quaint property is located right on the water and has an outstanding restaurant. I loved the oysters and the Irish coffee. The staff were super friendly, and Michelle was really welcoming. We shared dog stories, and I felt that we were friends. My dog is named Bosun and this place is just like him, special! It was close to places we wanted to visit, like Kinsale, but felt like we were staying in a serene haven. If you are a traveler and prefer to talk to the people whose country you are visiting, the Bosun is the place. The breakfast was superb and plentiful. I would visit this property again. I'd like to say thanks to everyone there and hello to Diesel!

The Accommodation was above what was expected. The premises itself had great character and a real comfortable homely feel to it. The breakfast was amazing and the breakfast room was very comfortable and homely also. There is a top class restaurant attached to the accommodation with very helpful, funny and attentive staff that would have no problem going above and beyond.
The bathroom was a bit small to get showered, shaved and prepared for the day. there was a strange shelf below the mirror that seemed to serve no purpose other than making brushing your teeth and shaving a bit of an awkward ordeal.

Room was very clean and breakfast was excellent, staff were lovely and helpful, atmosphere is excellent, beautiful view over the harbour and lovely safe walk too. the little chocolate on the pillow is cute.
would love to have had bottle of water in the room. also the bathroom has a clear window right in front of the shower and toilet which faced the carpark across the road, which left the bathroom very very open to the public view, although there was a blind to pull down this would leave the bathroom very dark, a compromise would be a little lace curtain half way on the window covering the bottom half of the window. I had to use the bath towel

Very nice location & views of the river. My room was comfortable. Nice modern bathroom, if a bit on the small side. Chocolate on my pillow was a nice touch. I had a meal in the bar, nice seafood. Wonderful breakfast, very tasty.
The tea tray in my room was quite old fashioned. The kettle slotted into the plastic tray. Something more modern would be better. There were no yogurts or fruit on offer at breakfast. I asked for a yogurt & was brought a Müller one. I would have preferred if they supported local Irish yogurt producers like Clonakilty.
