Kaplan Hotel is 100% worth every penny. The staff are super helpful and respectful, and the check-in was really smooth and easy. The room was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The vibe of the place is super chill and welcoming—perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring. The location is amazing—just a 15-minute walk to the Old City and close to tons of shops, restaurants, and public transport. You can get pretty much anywhere in the city without any hassle. The price is very reasonable for what you get, especially considering how central it is. The room cleaning service was excellent—everything was always spotless when I came back. Overall, a great stay and I'd totally recommend it to anyone visiting Jerusalem!

I am the Spanish girl, Lidia, who visited Jerusalem for Holy Week to see everything related to Christianity (Holy Sepulchre, Place of Ascension in the Mount of Olives, Pater Noster Church, Christ's Prison, Stations of the Cross, etc) and also the Jewish neighborhood with things like the Ark of Covenant, King David's Tower, Kotel, etc. The owner was a very kind Jewish man who treated me very well knowing that I am a Christian. It was a pleasure to share experiences with lovely Jews who helped me in different circumstances in Jerusalem!! About the hotel, I got a good room with a little fridge, comfortable bed and a big bathroom. It was also clean. I will repeat in the future for sure and I send greetings to the owner of the hotel!! The proprietor went out of his way to make us feel welcome and comfortable even though we arrived late in the evening.. We were able to leave our bags in the office after checkout. The room was immaculate and the building as charming as the owner. It's two minute walk from the light rail and numerous eateries. The Old City is a 10minute walk.

No bedside table and no tableware

The hotel proprieter went out of his way to make us feel at home. We arrived early and he gave us a room to rest in, which was very kind of him to do so. The kitchen facilities had everything we needed and tea coffee milk was provided. The location was very good, with plenty of cafes shops etc and within walking distance of the Jaffa gate. Easy access to Trams and the Train and bus station about 4 stops away. If your arriving by Taxi the Ibis hotel is in the next street so you could ask to be dropped off there as Jaffa street is not accesible by taxi. The Jaffa gate is a 10 minute walk away. The Hotel in my opinion is clean and comfortable and good value for money.

There are two flights of stairs if you are staying on the top floor. Which was fine for us. Just be aware there is no lift.

Somehow I reserved a smoking room by mistake, but the hotel quickly honored my email request to move to a non-smoking room. My flights were also cancelled, forcing me to miss a day off my trip. Again email to the hotel to make sure they kept my room worked perfectly. I also had an early morning check out so that I could do a tour and the hotel staff stored my bag for me until my return. Location was right off Jaffa Street and only 10 minutes walk to the New Gate of the old city.

Given my late arrival and early departure, I only got spend about 6 hours in the hotel.

Nathan the owner is the most helpful and kindest hotel owner I have come across. He allowed us to use his washing machine & dryer free of charge, he had the fridge stocked up for his guests with milk, eggs, butter, oil etc and we were able to use his kitchen to cook. When we booked a wrong bus trip to Eilat, he rang the company to try & sort it out for us. His hotel is right off the main street with our balcony looking onto Jaffa Street, the location was brilliant, also beside the tram. His hotel is very clean and although our room was a little small, that didn't matter to us, as all the plus out way this only thing. The place is just next to shops, restaurants and markets. Also near the tram stations. The Old city can be reached by walking or taking the tram. The host was available even when I arrived late at night.

The size of the room is a bit small.

The owner is probably the nicest hotelier I have met on all my travels. Upon check in, he sat down with us in the kitchen with a cup of tea to explain a few things about Jerusalem, which was a great way to start the trip, and he couldn’t be more helpful, arranging an airport shuttle for us when we came to leave (we flew out on Shabbat so public transport wasn’t an option)

The only negatives - and these are so small that it didn’t in any way affect our stay - were the mattress was fairly hard and the bathroom felt a little impersonal at times. However, if the only complaints we had are these, it shows what a good little hotel this is!

Great location to visit Jerusalem (old town as well as jaffa road and the market hall all within walking distance). The host was very, very kind and nice and also have us good advice on how to visit mount olive. We loved that the tram was so close and that we could easily walk to old town. The owner also let us leave the luggage in the hotel for a couple of hours after our check out which was very kind.

The room was a bit small (had to fit the luggage under the bed :-)) and the walls are not very thick, but you can hear other guests sneezing in the neighbouring room.

The hotel is old but it is well-maintained. There is a kitchen in the hotel which we used to make simple meals and tea. The location of the hotel is excellent. There are many eateries and shops nearby. The old Jerusalem city is 10 mins walking distance away. The owner is very kind. He even gave us some small gifts and was always willing to help. We really felt the hospitality.

During our stay, the adjacent building is under renovation, so it was quite noisy during the daytime.
