It’s an old style building in Jerusalem (as the neighbourhood is) which I love. It is well spaced from garden, lobby, to rooms. The place and neighbourhood is quiet. There weren’t guests talking loudly. I enjoyed very much one of balconies of my room has a big tree surrounded. The staff are kind and willing to help. Buses are easily accessible to downtown. Walking around the neighbourhood is excellent. The hotel location is close to various shops where daily basic needs are met, even some good restaurants and cafes within few minutes walk.

Breakfast was offered in a coffee shop neareby, and in shabbath in an another coffee shop. No problem there, the breakfast was ok - especially in the shabbath place. The staff was very good, very nice detail was the bicycle they had for free - closeby there's a bike road that goes to the center, passing old ottoman-era railway station which now hosts a variety of restaurants. And special mention goes to Suheir, she had all the pacience in the world to help with my silly problems, like fixing the tv remote control(it was not broken) A real pleasure to stay

In the last night we were invited to have two arraks by the elderly man in the hotel - well he charged afterwards a salty price of 120 shekels for two arrak shots. Price was about 2-3 times of that in any restaurant. Bad aftertaste of that. Otherwise everything fine.

The Hotel is located in a very nice small building (I think the Hotel has no more than 20 rooms) with a large and pleasant lobby where, at every time, the guests can have some fresh flavored water, some hot tea or some fruit, everything totally free. The room was a bit small but very well equipped and fit with a fridge, a TV, a very efficient Air Conditioning system, a wide safe (although positioned on the floor, which is not so comfortable to reach...) etc. The room is also fit of a terrace, very small, but in the days when we stayed in this hotel the external temperature was too hot to exploit and enjoy this facility. The bed is comfortable and a rich choice of pillows at different level of softness are provided. The position is at a few meters from the Emek Refayim Str. and in less than 10' walk is possible to reach the "Ha Rakevet" area where plenty of restaurants, cafeterias and snack bars could be found. We did not have the breakfast included and we cannot therefor comment this service.

The room does not have any closed wardrobe: just a bar where clothes can be hanged, not very practical for shirts, swathers etc. The external table and chair in the balcony are quite rusty and even in case of more acceptable ext. temperature, it's not very comfortable to use these furnitures. The bed is truly comfortable but rather short: we are not so tall and for us it was precisely good but for people tall more than 180 cm it could be uncomfortable such a short bed.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by Sufian, who accommodated my request for a room with a bathtub. I think it was the exact room I stayed in 2 years ago. I didn't have an adapter to convert a U.S/ Canadian plug to israel plug, so Sufian just gave me one for free. Sufian also assisted me when I ordered a taxi to bring a friend speaking to the driver in Arabic and giving specific instructions. Front staff, including Suhair, Samed, Samer, and Soufian, are fluent in English, Arabic and Hebrew and all very charming, funny, helpful, gracious while being professional at the same time.. I enjoyed having delightful and rather humorous conversations with all of them. The cleaning staff is equally helpful. The room was well appointed with all I needed, including a coffee machine, cooling cube ( fridge), plenty of toiletries, a comfortable bed, TV, as well as complimentary bottles of soda water. As others mentioned, I would have preferred regular water, but it was no big deal . There were bath robes ( although I did not use).There was a safe in my room but it initially wasn't functioning due to a battery problem but Samer fixed the problem. I will mention as others have that the safe is not fixed to the wall and it should be. The hotel is located in a fantastic area in the German Colony near Emek Refaim with plenty of facilities. It is much quieter than the main tourist area in the Downtown Triangle of Jaffa/ King George/ Ben Yehuda but still walkable with plenty of Public transport nearby.. The hotel is excellent value for the price paid. I would definitely recommend this property

The wifi, at least in my room, which was in a sub basement, was substandard, and even though I had data, I couldn't have full internet functionality until I went up to the lobby. The hotel is aware of the problem, and hopefully, it will be addressed. For whatever reason, this hotel, like other Israeli hotels, had loud background music, which I could hear in my room at times, but when I advised Sufian, he greatly lowered volume/ turned off.

Villa Brown in the Greek Colony is one of the most beautiful places to stay in in Jerusalem. In the heart of a quiet neighborhood and close to central locations within walking distance, it is charming, with and inviting lobby and extraordinary service. I especially want to praise Suheir who was patient, efficient, and one of the only women I have met who is able to do 10 tasks at once. Thank you for the perfect hospitality for us and our families. We will return there again and again.

I cannot speak highly enough about our stay here. we extended for several nights after the first booking. The hotel was extremely comfortable, and the building and outside space are charming and well-decorated. It is in a great part of Jerusalem, close to the old city and with many shops and restaurants nearby. Perhaps most important, all the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, during a challenging few days in Israel. We look forward to returning, and would recommend to anyone.

nothing, everything was great

This charming hotel is in a fantastic location for access to the German Colony, Emek Refaim, the mesila, and the first station. You can walk to the old city in 30 minutes. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet and cheerful. I enjoyed having the balcony. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I really appreciated Suhair’s help with a variety of things. She made me feel very welcomed! If you want to get away from the touristy hotels, this is a great choice

There isn’t a restaurant, but there are many terrific restaurants nearby. I appreciated having a refrigerator in the room so I could keep some food on hand, particularly over Shabbat when restaurants are closed

I only stayed for one short night but it was perfect for what I needed - friendly staff that was available late evening and early morning when I checked in and out, the room was clean and supplied with everything I needed. There was no problem finding parking in the street. WiFi was good. Everything was smooth and comfy. I didn’t have time to tour the area but know Jerusalem well enough to know that it’s a very nice location with cafes and restaurants and easy access to other tourists spots.

Me, my mother and puppy unfortunately had to find a place to stay at short notice due to the wildfires near Jerusalem. Villa Brown Moshava was a beautiful, welcoming, calm refuge, set in an authentic and beautiful Jerusalem street and building. I wholeheartedly recommend enjoying it under better circumstances than we had to :-) Specifically, the staff, including manager Majdie were all wonderful, welcoming, helpful and forthcoming.
