The Hotel may be old but clean and necessary upgrade was already done, we liked the nostalgia furniture and decor including the old style key, we really loved the spacious room and huge closet (biggest closet ever seen)!. Also the location was right beside of the station and so convenient, Spa was very nice, the view from the window to the Beppu Tower was beautiful. We stayed another hotel in Beppu (one of well-known hotel) but we definitely come back to this Hotel again. The overall experience was fabulous.

the key was only one key, thus when both going to the Spa needs some coordination.

Incredibly convenient location right near the station (but far enough that you don’t hear the trains). There’s a sento/public bath for guests and it uses onsen water so you feel super silky afterwards. :) The room is tiny but perfect for me as a solo traveller, and very cheap for a hotel. The staff were super lovely and check in was quick and easy. To make things a bit more eco-friendly they’ve moved the amenities (eg extra shower goods, toothbrushes etc) and drinks (tea coffee and the like) to the first floor and you’re welcome to use these as you need- it’s a much better system than them throwing out unused items or that feeling of drinking the world’s most stale cup of tea. It was smart.

The decor is quite… dated.

Its wonderful staff and the owners. The fact it’s very well kept yet hasn’t changed over the past 34 years (this was my third time at this hotel) just like Beppu itself. I’m sure I will return.

When I had to leave.

Just next to the JR station (1 min walk). The outdoor hot spring at SeaWave is excellent! Staff is friendly and helpful. We eventually stay for 1 more night. We also thank the lady for helping us get extra pillows and her warm reminder to take the bus.

The place is decorated in a vintage way, which looks creepy in the picture online but actually pretty welcoming and clean in real life. The onsen is so good that almost wash away all my tiredness. Room size is pretty good compared to a normal hotel in Japan.

Location is the best, staff are helpful and friendly.

The location of the hotel is near train and bus station so it is very convenient to move in and out. There are many restaurants and convenient store near the hotel too.

The hotel was well situated in the centre of Beppu. A bit old fashioned but clean and welcoming.

The bed's were quite hard but okay.
