Room and beds are very comfortable and clean. Our balcony had a lovely view of the pool and sea.Pool area was nice with lots of lounge chairs. Shuttle bus was very convenient to go downtown. The hotel was nice and quiet at night time.

Beds were dressed daily, but sheets were not changed. Fresh towels are not supplied to the room daily. The shower was not cleaned daily. Only had breakfast one morning and was very disappointed, overpriced for what was on offer. The quality of food in the restaurant for lunch and dinner is very poor.Beach very small without sand, more like a rocky cove. €180 was the price quoted for late checkout. No changing or shower area for people with late flights, very disappointing. Beware of city tourist tax on checkout. €4 per person per night added to the cost of stay.

Excellent hotel with good facilities and wonderful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Breakfast was ok, although nothing special. Food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. Bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Antonella. Would highly recommend staying here.

Just 2 minor gripes. It would be good if dedicated shower/changing facilities were provided for guests who have a late flight as the late checkout fee of €200 was way too expensive. Also while the shuttle bus is very convenient, it was too small, with only room for 8 people. A larger vehicle would be much better.

The hotel was spotless. The pool area was not too crowded and even with young children, it was very mellow and chilled. The room was lovely. It was great to have a mini fridge and kettle. Fresh towels everyday were great . The bar staff, waiters and waitresses were all very friendly and welcoming.

There was no iron in the room, I had to go down to the ironing room, very strange. Even though there was a kettle in the room, the cleaning staff did not replace the milk every day . I had to ask reception staff for milk which seemed strange to them so in the end I stopped asking.

Lovely hotel, the pool is really nice and the lovely little beach across the way is so nice! Alot of people leave towels are sunbeds for the whole day at the pool and leave for hours so can be hard to get a spot. Lovely pool bar with drinks and food, staff are so friendly and helpful. Had breakfast the first day and it's very tasty but €24pp is expensive. 20 minute walk to the centre but lovely walk along the boardwalk and there is also a free shuttle. Would definitely stay again.

Aircon isn't the best in the rooms and very loud. No water in the room, just water to buy from the mini bar. Prices at the bar were expensive. €3 for a litre of water

Hotel Calabona was an excellent choice for us for an extended weekend. The hotel is a real 4-star, classic, well-maintained hotel. The staff is extraordinarily supportive and that makes the difference. We were helped for things that were not necessarily the responsibility of the staff and it would have been very easy to say I don't know, it's not possible (reception, bistro). But people wanted to help sincerely and we appreciate it a lot (I would suggest the gentleman with the mustache, from the reception, night shift, to a bonus for the employee of the month, for his attitude and support). The breakfast is ok and we really liked that there are fruit juicers available for self-made fresh ones. The shuttle bus is free to the center (the cost is borne by the restaurant at Sepanto where hotel customers have a 10% discount) in certain time intervals and the driver is very kind. The beach is intimate and quiet, without music, only the sea can be heard, with a lifeguard during the day. There are rocks on the shore and it is easier to enter the water with water shoes, but it is also ok without). The massage is excellent. The rooms are clean and the mattresses are comfortable, plus full blackout curtains. Parking in the hotel yard (with payment) and free behind the hotel near the beach (within the limit of available places). Overall the quality/price ratio is honest, we will definitely come back. The transfer to/from AHO airport takes about 50 min by public bus, which has 1 stop in the center and 25 min by taxi/uber (50 eur +/-)

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Hotel Calabona! From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive. A special shout out to Silvana, who went above and beyond by upgrading us to the best suite in the hotel. The suite was luxurious, offering stunning views of the sea and all the amenities you could wish for. The location is perfect—just a short distance from the charming old town of Alghero, with easy access to beautiful beaches. What truly stood out to us was the exceptional service. Silvana and the entire team made sure every detail was taken care of, making our stay unforgettable. We highly recommend Hotel Calabona to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Alghero.

Hotel Shuttle was a fantastic offering by the hotel and while just about walkable into the city this facility made it much more relaxing! Staff were lovely and location is really beautiful by the sea and everything was spotless - including the lovely pool!

Beds were not comfortable, and pillows were really hard. Huge amount of coloured switches/ lights around the room made it very difficult to sleep. Room cleaned daily wuth new towels, bed made etc. however bed linen not changed in a week stay

I really liked the staff who behaves with you like a 10, the pool is big, the sea is close and everything is very clean. There is also a kind of relaxation area with: a ping-pong table, a big TV and several retro games. There is also free transportation from the hotel to the old town at certain specific times. Those who work at the hotel can help you with anything you need.

The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't let you stay at the private beach until after 9:30.

The shuttle to town and the small beach in front of the hotel were super additions to our stay. The staff were super helpful, polite, and cheerful. Air conditioning was excellent, given we had temperatures of 38 degrees a couple of days.

The pool was very big, but there weren't always beds available, and inevitably, it was fairly grubby with people's suntan oil.
