We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Hotel Calabona! From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive. A special shout out to Silvana, who went above and beyond by upgrading us to the best suite in the hotel. The suite was luxurious, offering stunning views of the sea and all the amenities you could wish for. The location is perfect—just a short distance from the charming old town of Alghero, with easy access to beautiful beaches. What truly stood out to us was the exceptional service. Silvana and the entire team made sure every detail was taken care of, making our stay unforgettable. We highly recommend Hotel Calabona to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Alghero.

Hotel Shuttle was a fantastic offering by the hotel and while just about walkable into the city this facility made it much more relaxing! Staff were lovely and location is really beautiful by the sea and everything was spotless - including the lovely pool!

Beds were not comfortable, and pillows were really hard. Huge amount of coloured switches/ lights around the room made it very difficult to sleep. Room cleaned daily wuth new towels, bed made etc. however bed linen not changed in a week stay

Fabulous staff in all areas, always helpful and friendly. There was a mix-up with my room but it was easily resolved by the reception staff, who were great. Beautiful pool area with bar and delicious food. Quiet area with amazing sea views on the 15 minute promenade walk to the old town.

External property walls and building could do with some work and new paint to bring it up to the standard of the interior. Pool a bit chilly when you first get in, but lovely once you get used to it.

A good hotel situated right opposite a small beach and at about 20min walking distance from the centre. You have a shuttle provided at lunchtime and in the evening. The pool area is quite big and clean and they have a bar and restaurant there. Breakfast is very good and the staff at breakfast very professional. They make fresh omelette and have fruits for freshly pressed juice.There is parking for free behind the hotel - if you want to park inside their parking lot it's 15€/day. It's also a quite big hotel so if it's bad whether expect a very large crowd for breakfast

The bed and pillow were too hard for my liking but that's just a personal thing

-nice and modern room -very friendly and helpful staff -surprise room upgrade which had a great sea view -pool bar and area very well maintained -quiet location

-the one issue I have to mention is that parking is not included and is charged at 15 euros per day. Whilst I have no problem paying for this, we were unable to use it for more than half of the days we booked it as there simply is not enough space. It’s practically not an issue as there is plenty of off street parking close to the hotel but given when booking the parking spot, my vehicle registration was taken, we assumed the number of bookings would be restricted to the number of spots and it would be checked that only cars with booking park on the hotel parking. This appeared not to be the case. An easy fix to this would be to just remove the charge going forward.

We loved our stay in Alghero with its amazing sunsets on the battlements and wonderful restaurants. The hotel receptionist was very friendly and offered us vouchers for welcome drinks at the bar and we also got a room upgrade to a superior room with sea views which was a lovely surprise. The room was clean and comfortable and we loved the balcony with views of the pool and sea. We also appreciated great air conditioning and fresh drinking water being available in the room. As the hotel is located out of town, we utilised the free shuttle service provided although also enjoyed the walk a few times during our stay.

The pool area was lovely, but with limited seating space as other residents went off leaving their towels on the sunbeds. The hotel was located a bit out of town and the immediate area is not very attractive with some derelict buildings, so a bit off-putting on first sight - other great features of the hotel made up for this though!

The hotel is lovely looking over the sea. Plenty of parking and a 10 minute walk to the beautiful historic town and there is a free shuttle service which we also used. Every member of staff was very helpful and friendly. We even got a free cocktail as it was my birthday. It was a lovely couple of days. Made use of the very large pool too Would definitely return

Pool opening hours but this was only because we were staying out of season. We still made use of the pool and the life guard was lovely

May 2024. The property is very well situated, a nice 15 min coastal walk to the town and old town (possibly a little longer when you stop to admire the vista and have a cocktail in the local bars)! The property is old but renovated and exceptionally spotless, and the pool is one of the best I’ve attended. It’s peaceful and relaxing. A lovely vibe.

The menu could be a bit more expansive or even different in the evening - as a solo traveller I liked to eat at the hotel when travel alone. That being said, what was on the menu was excellent. Just a note that this is not a spa hotel.

From start to finish, we enjoyed a very relaxing few days, the receptionists, the staff in the restaurant and the staff in the bar were all so nice and nothing was any bother for them, the breakfast was delicious with a very good variety of foods and there was a lady who made fantastic omelettes or fried eggs to order, the pool was crystal clear, and the whole hotel was spotless, the beds we're really comfy and our room had a great beach view as well as poolside view, absolutly couldn't fault this hotel, i'd highly recommended it.

The only thing I would say which is nothing to do with the hotel itself was that there was a male lifeguard on duty on our 1st day, who was rude to 2 women who had difficulty in putting up their parasol, it seemed like he was bring inconvenienced by having to help them, but on the the other days of our stay there was a lovely young lifeguard on duty who was pleasant and she smiled and helped anyway she could around the pool, so well done to her

Was a little outside the old town of Alghero but no issue if u like walking (15 mins at a stroll) as view on way in is to die for. But they offer a shuttle most of the day with the last return being at 11.30am. The inside has been refurbished to a great standard with an excellent pool and small private beach both of which had a lifeguard all day. They also upgraded us to a sea view room on arrival. Our booking included breakfast and what a breakfast an absolute abundance of choice.
