The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful. Upon check-in, they explained everything about the city and how to get around, which was really appreciated. The room had a small fridge, which came in handy. The sea is quite close, but the beach is actually a bit far. The hotel recommended a shuttle service that picks people up from hotels and drops them off at the beaches - it's convenient, but you can also use public transport, which in some cases is much cheaper. Either way, you'll need transport to get to the nice beaches, as most of them are far or even outside the city. The air conditioning worked well, which was a big plus.

One downside was the very small shower cabin, which made it a bit uncomfortable. Also, our room was on the ground floor with a window facing the inner courtyard. There was only a sheer curtain, so since we often saw staff walking in the courtyard, we had to keep the shutters closed for privacy. Still, overall it was a good experience!

We had a fantastic experience at Villa Piras in Alghero. We chose a room with a front sea view, and it was absolutely worth it — spending the evenings on the terrace, listening to the waves, was unforgettable. The rooftop terrace is also a great spot, especially at sunset. The staff were excellent. Maximiliano at reception was incredibly kind and helpful — he gave us great recommendations for restaurants and beaches, printed useful information, and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was very good, with a wide variety, and the ladies there were very attentive to details. Everything was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. We will definitely retur

The very best thing about this property was the concierge who greeted us when we arrived and advised us where to go while we were there, Massimo! What a wonderful ambassador for this gem of a hotel that we found when making a last minute booking for our last night in Sardinia. Our room was bright and spacious and clean. The largest room and bathroom we had during our week long stay and they only one with a balcony. The beds were the most comfortable we had experienced and the air conditioning was perfect, noiseless and maintained a perfect temperature in the room during the night which gave us both a glorious sleep. There is a walk to the town of perhaps 20 mins but it is a lovely walk that I highly recommend doing at sunset as we got some of our best photos on our way to the old town for dinner. Along the way there were some lovely restaurants and bars and it had an up market feel to it. There were also a few market stalls if you fancied a browse. Massimo directed us to park our car behind the hotel which was free and perfectly close by. He also gave us a tourist map, marking out the main streets of the old town and circling where we might find some nice restaurants. Breakfast was varied and lovely with plenty of options, savoury and sweet and ran from 7.30 to 10am. Checkout is early, at 10am, but that suited us on this occasion as we headed to a beautiful beach a little out of town that was recommended by Massimo. If I was to pick something then it would only be that 10am seemed to me like a very early check out time. We were more used to 11am from other hotels we had stayed at.

excellent hotel. the room was very big and super clean. we upgraded to balcony with sea view and it was totally worth it. the staff was very friendly from the security guard to the ladies at breakfast. they were always very helpful and smiley. the breakfast was plentiful with fresh buffet every morning. and let's not forget the rooftop terrace with an amazing view on the sea.

it's not really a bad thing but the room could do with a lamp. or maybe they could use less brighter bulbs for the bedside. the light was too bright for us so we had to turn on the light in the bathroom and leave the door ajar.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, with a special mention for Marco and Serena at reception. The breakfast was good and typical continental fare. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The hotel is about 25 minutes by taxi from the airport and you should expect to pay around 35 euro. Tip...take the bus from the airport to Alghero, it costs only €1.30 one way and takes around 35 minutes. There is a supermarket within 10 minutes walk of the hotel. Old town is roughly a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Overall, this is a very nice hotel with fantastic staff throughout, and I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is slightly out of the centre and although within walking distance of old town, it might not suit a person with mobility issues. The front rooms of the hotel overlook a fairly busy road which some may find the traffic noise an issue.

The only small thing was a bit of noise at night, probably from some pipes. But after a glass (or two) of good Italian wine, we slept like babies!🥱

Massimiliano was a great host. He took time to tell me about the area where I could get good food, and made me feel very welcome. I was touring on a motorbike and was able to get a parking space in the very secure hotel car park at a favourable rate. In fact a number of motorcyclists stayed at te hotel whilst I was there. The town is worth a days walking visit.

The room was a little noisy, I could hear a lot of the plumbing!

We enjoyed our stay very much in Hotel Villa Piras. The staff was friendly, still smiling that brought a good feeling and spoke English fluently. We don't speak Italian, but we'd tried a little and they really appreciated that. The hotel is quite old-fashioned, but not in a bad way. I think it completes the atmosphere of Alghero. The hotel's near the city centre, like 10-15 mins walking. The breakfast was delicious.

WiFi wasn't working correctly during our stay, but I think it's a temporary issue.

Location was great, room was fine. The staff made it for us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful but Maximilion (apologies if I got the name wrong) was absolutely spectacular. So friendly and helpful upon arrival, and consistently went out of his way to help in any way possible. His recommendations led to two of the best meals we've eaten in Europe.

Bicycles for rent are rather basic - not well maintained, and especially w/o gears. Although the terrain is rather flat, visiting the western areas of Alghero is rather a challenge with these gearless bikes.
