La Piaggia is in an excellent location for visiting Assisi and it was only a short walk to the basilica, a good way to stretch our legs after a car journey. There was plenty of easy parking, our room was spacious and comfortable and the presence of a fridge and kettle was appreciated. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful and our dogs were welcome to come in and sit with us whilst we ate. The owners were really helpful, showing us a list of nearby restaurants when we arrived and giving us a map and directions for how to walk into Assisi. We will definitely aim to stay here again when in this part of Italy and will recommend La Piaggia to our friends who travel regularly through Italy.

Nothing it was a great place to stay

This is a very nice place. This accommodation comes with a very large parking and a beautiful garden where guests can rest and take in the surroundings. It is situated at the bottom of the hill with the Basilica. A quiet oasis close to the crowded area of the Basilica. The room was clean with all the basic supplies. This is a house, so there is no elevator. Keep in mind if you have mobility needs. Our room was on the second floor, so we only took the necessary things and left the big luggage in the trunk in the car. The host serves breakfast on the main floor. Delicious coffee, cheese, ham, pastries, jam, butter, yogurt etc.

Location is 12 minutes walk uphill to the Basilica with nice views of Assisi, especially in the evening light, from the paths close to the hotel. The location was quiet with private parking and easy to access being just outside the town. Location was quiet and peaceful at night with plenty of greenery and paths to walk.

Room was on the small side, but adequate. We had booked the cheapest rooms, so there are larger rooms available. Breakfast quality was good, especially the home made cake, however I would have liked a broader healthier selection including fresh fruit like melon.

It’s a beautiful building at a great location close to the town atop the hill; very welcoming like a home, close to the path up the hill to the basilica of Saint Francis (although it’s somewhat of a steep 600-meter hike, but it’s the shortest distance to the basilica). There is also a walk path behind the building through the idyllic and peaceful area lined with olive trees at some parts. The proprietor was most kind, gracious, and helpful. Really made me feel at home. Breakfast was quite nice, too. My only regret was that I could not stay longer than the 3 days I had planned to spend in Assisi. I look forward to returning to Assisi and, once again, staying at La Piaggia.

Nothing! I like EVERYTHING about La Piaggia.

Beautiful ex farmhouse . Breakfast was fine, kept us going and we were well looked after. The 600-meter walk up to St. Francisco was hard work, especially in the heat. We used the restaurant across from our B&B which was very good and we also drove into the next town with St Francisco's church, well worth a visit, even with the scaffolding around it and there are plenty of bars and restaurants.

For us, the bed was very hard, otherwise nothing.

Outstanding. The best place we stayed in the whole of Italy - and we toured all round. The host and his wife were welcoming and helpful, the place was spotless and we felt very comfortable there. The breakfast was served with home made cake and plenty of choices. Very generous portions. When we ran into a problem with our motor bikes the host was quick to help us.

The property was beautiful and our host was very accommodating. The breakfast was also really good. (Traditional Italian breakfast). There is a restaurant on the corner that was very close by.

Not much - the hill was steep to get to Assisi.

The place is so beautiful outside and so cute inside like a nona’s house. Very clean, good beds. Parking lot right on the property in front of a plantation of olive trees, so beautiful! 100m from the ramp to the basilica. Breakfast ok like in any hotel in Toscana.

Maybe include some fruits and salami on the breakfast?! :)

Perfect location for those looking for a peaceful stay in the countryside yet within short walk to town. May be a little challenging to walk up the hill for some, but can easily use the car to go up instead.

Homemade cake for breakfast was delicious. Would have been nice to have some fruit for breakfast also.

The host was great and gave us some tips when we arrived (for example, we got a food recommendation, which turned out to be great). There was no problem leaving the car, even after we had checked out. The property has a wonderful garden with olive trees, where you can relax and pet the cute little dog that walks around. Assisi itself is beautiful, but in combination with La Piaggia you can experience it even better!
