This is a guest house on the owner's property- they were present for help and went out of their way to shuttle us back and forth from the airport. They even walked inside the train station at FCO to find us. It was a short walk from the beach and they directed us to an award winning gelato shop. We had a beautiful, easy overnight before our return flight the next morning. The town was alive with locals at night, and we did some stargazing over the ocean.

There weren't a ton of frills, but the wifi and AC worked well, it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. And, the hosts were funny and kind, so it was a wonderful stay. They spoke some English, but we mostly conversed in Italian.

Paola was wonderful. I was traveling alone with my 2 years old daughter, and when we arrived, the room was ready with the crib and a cute bedding. I planned an afternoon at the beach, and Paola provided me with a beach towel and even a small beach toy kit for my little one. The facility is only 4 minutes walking from the beach, there's a grocery store one block away and plenty of restaurants by the water. A one evening stay to get an airplane back home turned out to be a short, wonderful gateway for my daughter and I. We will definitely come back when we travel through FCO.

Great accommodation close to airport... the free airport pickup & dropoff is definitely a huge bonus given taxi prices and poor public transport options. Easy communication via whatsapp to coordinate/synchronise airport pickup, English spoken. Accommodation is excellent location, 5 min walk to beach (west), 5min walk to gelato (east), 2min walk to supermarket. Room has large bathroom, small fridge/cooler, comfy bed, air cond. Free wifi is good. Outside sitting area in garden area with fig & lemon trees. Quiet neighbourhood but close to beach & beachfront restaurants. Highly recommended, with friendly communicative managers/owners

Incredible and beyond expectations is how to describe the property, location, and exceptional professionalism and warmth of the service by the sisters running this lovely place. Paola is the lady we dealt with (her sister is Elvia) - the room and the premises are just perfect in every way - a lovely courtyard to drink your coffee - very modern and up to date bathroom, small fridge and the BONUS of a free shuttle service back and forth from the airport ! Paola tracked our flight, knew we were delayed and kept communicating with us until we got our luggage. She met us in the terminal and drove us to Un Passo del Mare - we have stayed in over 20 different airbnb's and vrbo's in Italy and Fiumicino in particular but Un Passo del Mare is by far the most wonderful for layovers and short stays in Rome - take the train into the city - walk to the sea within 15 minutes, restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Paola takes care of her guests by making sure we have all the comforts we need and is ready with answers to our questions. There is no kitchen but there is a kettle with tea and instant coffee provided. As well, Paola supplies each room with a bottle of water. We have stayed in Fiumicino so many times and have been so so so very disappointed with every place because of location (out in the middle of nowhere with nothing within walking distance - no transportation info. provided by host, experiences that were not at all pleasant. Un PASSO DEL MARE has been the BEST experience. I highly recommend Un Passo del Mare to anyone who needs a place to stay in Fiumicino.

NOTHING BECAUSE IT WAS PERFECT in absolutely every way !!!

We stayed one night before heading home. The grounds have beautiful flowering bushes and semi tropical/ tropical plants. Absolutely beautiful. Paola and Elvira are wonderful hosts who made sure we our stay was pleasant. Our room was bright and had a laid back beach vibe. The location was excellent. Just a short walk to the beach and restaurants with plenty of dining options to pick from. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we couldn’t hear any street noise. Each room has a small table with two chairs located outside. In the evening we purchased a bottle of wine from the grocery store down the street and sat outside enjoying wonderful Italian wine, the garden views, and just relaxing before our long flight home.

We stayed at un passo dal mare the night before our flight from FCO, and Paola made everything seamless—picking us up at FCO after our rental car drop-off and taking us back to the airport the next morning for our flight out. She was delightful and welcoming. Our room was spotless and had a comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, and a charming courtyard. While not a luxury hotel, it’s a clean, safe, and convenient stay near FCO -- and, considering transportation, a very good value for the price. Bonus: It’s just blocks from the beach, so we enjoyed a beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea sunset on our last night in Italy. Highly recommend!

This booking more than fulfilled our needs on our last day in Italy. We flew in from Sicily and needed a place to stay close to the airport so we could fly home early the next morning. Paula met us at the departure door at 9pm, drove us to the apartment in Fiumicino, got us situated, and referred us to a late-night restaurant with a pasta recommendation. We had a very nice meal and went straight to bed--very comfortable. At 4am Paula again met us (after driving in from her home in Rome) and dropped us at our terminal with plenty of time for our early flight. She was extremely hospitable and accommodating. The house and room are not very special, but they are immaculate and comfortable--more than adequate for our transit needs, which is exactly what anybody needs from an airport accommodation.

This was a great little hideaway near the airport and the beach. Very private but open court yard allows one to appreciate nature and enjoy the outdoors in a secure manner. Clean. Comfortable beds. Modern bathroom. One level. No stairs or elevators. The hostess was very helpful, communicated effectively, and was a really delightful person. The pick up and drop off service to the airport was fantastic. We got a complete rest at the end of our trip before taking a 17 hour trek home. This would be a great place to get over jet lag at the beginning of a trip as well.

Elvira and Paula were fantastic hosts. They really want to ensure that you are happy with your room. Paula picked us up at the rental car drop off and then took us to the airport the following morning. We asked for recommendations on where to have dinner and it was spot on. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the shower was high tech. The garden area is very peaceful. The beach is only about 4 short blocks away....This is the perfect place to stay at if you plan on only staying for a few days in the area.

We can confidently recommend Un passo del mare. Communication was excellent. We were greeted personally at the entrance and shown around. The room was extremely clean. It was comfortable and had little extras like a kettle, tea, a big bottle of water, hand soap, shower gel and shampoo. The towels were fabulous. The setting is quaint and quiet and the property is well-maintained, including lovely citrus trees in bloom while we were there. Street parking was available. The location of the property is ideal to explore the town. There are many nice restaurants within walking distance. We did not need the shuttle service but it is definitely a convenience.
