Paula our host went over and beyond our expectations, fantastic in every way. When we arrived with our hire car on the afternoon before our flight home she offered to go with us to drop the hire car straight away then take us to the airport the following morning for our flight hassle free. The position of the accommodation is great 10 minutes from airport and 10 minute walk to beach and some great restaurants. The room was a good size, very clean and comfortable with a great shower. Wi-Fi was fast and efficient. We have to give Un Passo dal Mare and Paula 5 stars and a 10 out of 10 rating. Thank you for looking after us so well and making the end of our 5 week trip unforgettable it was much appreciated.

Everything was perfect

I never bother to leave reviews, but I felt compelled to spread the word about Un Passo dal Marre! After a very chaotic time getting from the train station in Rome to Fiumicino amid protests, we could finally breath a sigh of relief when Paola picked us up inside the train station at Fiumicino. Not knowing what time we would arrive, we figured we would just take a taxi to the guesthouse, but she reached out to me to offer a ride, and we are so glad we took her up on it! She and her sister are pro drivers! As we pulled away from the train station, Paola showed us that she already had our flight information pulled up for our very early flight the next day, and confirmed for us what terminal and even what door we would need to be at. All of this on her birthday, no less! After arriving at the very comfortable room with a wonderful bathroom and the nicest bed we slept on in Europe, she directed us to a restaurant on the beach where we had the best meal of our trip. Before dawn, Elvira, Paola's sister, had the car pulled up and ready for us. A quick and comfortable ride later, she pulled up right to the door we needed, and even walked out bags inside and up to the check in counter before showing us where we needed to go for security. She also timed the drop off perfectly. Only one person in line when we arrived, and a long line by the time we were walking to security. We never expected the little airport town to be our favorite stop on our trip, but now we can't wait to go back to Fiumicino! Truly our only complaint was that we didn't have more time to stay at Un Passo dal Marre! More than a guest house, it felt like we were staying with old friends. Comfortable, relaxed, and so well cared for. Buon compleanno, Paola, and thank you Elvira! We hope to see you soon!

The price was too low! Paola and Elvira could easily charge double for all that is included! Excellent value!

Very close to the airport - 15 mins drive and great for a break from a long flight or cancelled/delayed flights. Super comfy and clean. The bed is the most comfortable in my 14 days tour of Italy. The beach is only a 10-15 mins way with the marina and restaurants along the beach. Paola and Elvira are lovely ladies. This stay offered a collection from the airport and a trip back within a certain time during the day but they will always try to accommodate. My flight was cancelled and new flight was very early. Paola drove me there at 5am, stopping outside the door to the exact checking in desk! Can’t beat such caring service!! Thank you very much!

This was the perfect place for us to stay after a long flight, Paola met us in arrivals with a warm cheery welcome & after a short drive we had arrived. A small intimate establishment behind locked gates, gorgeous well tended gardens, super clean room, hot shower, comfortable bed & a great first night sleep in Italy. Short walk to bakery for warm croissants for breakfast. Paola then drove us to the airport train station where she ensured we purchased the “correct” tickets & walked us to the platform, amazing personalised service. We were so appreciative & it was the perfect start to our holiday.

It was all excellent

This is a guest house on the owner's property- they were present for help and went out of their way to shuttle us back and forth from the airport. They even walked inside the train station at FCO to find us. It was a short walk from the beach and they directed us to an award winning gelato shop. We had a beautiful, easy overnight before our return flight the next morning. The town was alive with locals at night, and we did some stargazing over the ocean.

There weren't a ton of frills, but the wifi and AC worked well, it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. And, the hosts were funny and kind, so it was a wonderful stay. They spoke some English, but we mostly conversed in Italian.

Clear communication prior to arrival. Last minute flexibility with airport shuttle and check in when our flight was changed. The shuttle to and from the airport was so smooth and easy. Property location was great - a nearby pizzeria was open late and supermarket open early in the morning to buy food for breakfast and onward travel. Paola was very kind and a pleasure to chat with. Would definitely book again for future trips.

We were grateful for the tea, coffee, and kettle provided in the room. The only thing that would perfect the stay would be a simple breakfast, but that was easily solved with the excellent supermarket a few-minute walk away.

We chose this accommodation because it was close to the airport & offered transport to & from the airport. The rooms are all on ground level which was great & our room faced the sun with a table & chairs outside. Paola & Elvira are great hosts & gave us information about local restaurants & the beach which is a 10 minute flat stroll away. The bed was comfortable & the wifi was reliable. There was a fridge in the room & when we asked for bowls & plates it was no problem to get them. We were also given towels for the beach. We felt looked after in a homely environment. The transport to & from the airport was fantastic for us & much appreciated.

Paola was wonderful. I was traveling alone with my 2 years old daughter, and when we arrived, the room was ready with the crib and a cute bedding. I planned an afternoon at the beach, and Paola provided me with a beach towel and even a small beach toy kit for my little one. The facility is only 4 minutes walking from the beach, there's a grocery store one block away and plenty of restaurants by the water. A one evening stay to get an airplane back home turned out to be a short, wonderful gateway for my daughter and I. We will definitely come back when we travel through FCO.

Great accommodation close to airport... the free airport pickup & dropoff is definitely a huge bonus given taxi prices and poor public transport options. Easy communication via whatsapp to coordinate/synchronise airport pickup, English spoken. Accommodation is excellent location, 5 min walk to beach (west), 5min walk to gelato (east), 2min walk to supermarket. Room has large bathroom, small fridge/cooler, comfy bed, air cond. Free wifi is good. Outside sitting area in garden area with fig & lemon trees. Quiet neighbourhood but close to beach & beachfront restaurants. Highly recommended, with friendly communicative managers/owners

Incredible and beyond expectations is how to describe the property, location, and exceptional professionalism and warmth of the service by the sisters running this lovely place. Paola is the lady we dealt with (her sister is Elvia) - the room and the premises are just perfect in every way - a lovely courtyard to drink your coffee - very modern and up to date bathroom, small fridge and the BONUS of a free shuttle service back and forth from the airport ! Paola tracked our flight, knew we were delayed and kept communicating with us until we got our luggage. She met us in the terminal and drove us to Un Passo del Mare - we have stayed in over 20 different airbnb's and vrbo's in Italy and Fiumicino in particular but Un Passo del Mare is by far the most wonderful for layovers and short stays in Rome - take the train into the city - walk to the sea within 15 minutes, restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Paola takes care of her guests by making sure we have all the comforts we need and is ready with answers to our questions. There is no kitchen but there is a kettle with tea and instant coffee provided. As well, Paola supplies each room with a bottle of water. We have stayed in Fiumicino so many times and have been so so so very disappointed with every place because of location (out in the middle of nowhere with nothing within walking distance - no transportation info. provided by host, experiences that were not at all pleasant. Un PASSO DEL MARE has been the BEST experience. I highly recommend Un Passo del Mare to anyone who needs a place to stay in Fiumicino.
