Staff were friendly and welcoming, good location and room size was good. Room was always clean and tidy. Rooftop terrace view of Florence was amazing.

The bathroom is a wet room and didn’t drain very well, made it hard to use bathroom after a shower due to wetness. shower near the door which caused a few issues with water coming into the room (bottom of bathroom door was rotten due to water damage so can tell this has been an issue for a while). Didn’t like that we had to hand key in every time we went out and collect from reception upon return, made it long winded to drop stuff off while out and about.

I had a fabulous time at this hotel. It is the best affordable space in Florence. Staff are beautiful very supportive and helpful. The property is not luxurious, but it is just perfect if you want comfortable safe fun place to stay it’s conveniently located. It’s got a lovely rooftop Terrace but most importantly it’s just good value for money. It’s a two star hotel technically but I say that other hotels in Florence during my trip as part of the tour and they were many times more expensive. Yeah I chose to stay at the Bodoni at the beginning of the trip. Highly recommend.

It was honestly nothing that I didn’t like about the hotel. I guess it could’ve added some more choices to the breakfast menu and honestly that’s about it. We had a couple of situations that needed help and because I was part of a group they were so supportive of helping one person who had lost luggage and there were just that family was very, very cool

The place was lovely! The staff was very friendly and accomodating the entire time. We saw four gentlemen working the hotel, that seemed to be all family members - but it's just a presumption. Whenever you leave the room to see the city, you leave the key at the reception, but there's always a person there to hand it to you when you came back. There's also room service that makes the bed, takes out the trash and provides new shampoo packets in the bathroom. The hotel seems old, but very clean and well kept, so it gives a nice, vintage atmosphere to your stay. The room was nice and clean, and there was very nice free breakfast served in the morning - bread, cheese and ham to make nice grill ham and cheese sandwiches in a panini grill. There's also jams and nutella provided if you want to make a PBJ. There's also cereal, small servings of yoghurt, canned fruit, and very delicious pastries and croisants with filling. There are two small grocery stores just accross the street - one regular, and one with asian goods, so you can buy all sorts of stuff you might need. Very much recommended.

The location is really the main attraction of this hotel. Very close to the center (you can see the Duomo from the terrace) but far enough away to be calm and without much commotion at night. The staff is very friendly and any questions or problems they try to resolve immediately. Breakfast is limited but we are in a two-star hotel so it meets expectations (I just wish they had real bread). However, the croissants are good and if you are lucky enough to get them with filling, even better :-) The room had its peculiarities and challenges, especially for a tall person, but nothing that caused too much inconvenience (and a few headbutts to learn from). The bed was comfortable although a little short for a tall person.

It's not so much a negative comment but a warning as I don't know if the information is clear in the hotel description. The hotel is on the fourth floor with a small (and very slow) elevator, so if you are claustrophobic, be aware that there are a lot of stairs to climb (the ceilings are very high). And if the elevator breaks down, know what you have to go up (or down) with or without luggage. I had no problems going up and down the stairs but I wasn't expecting the hotel to be a floor in a building and not the whole building :-)

A great Surprise! I stayed at Hotel Bodoni in Florence for about two weeks. Given that it is a budget hotel, I was prepared for a lower standard and hoped it would meet a basic level that wouldn't detract from the wonderful experience of staying in Florence. The surprise was perfect. This is a small, clean, organized, and well-maintained hotel. The air-conditioned rooms are comfortable and clean, and the service is very dedicated and familial. The reception operates 24/7, and the staff is happy to assist and solve any problem. There is fast wireless internet throughout the hotel. The hotel's location is excellent - a short walking distance from all the attractions, with a large supermarket and a pharmacy across the street. The breakfast is very good - you can eat on a beautiful rooftop terrace or in the air-conditioned hotel restaurant. In short, this is a hotel I would be happy to return to even when not on a budget trip, offering excellent value for money.

The water pressure and warmth could be better.

I spent 6 nights here and I think it was great for a 2 star hotel. The elevator is a little bit small, but does the job. The staff was very friendly and polite. The breakfast had the same things each time, like croissants, toasts coffee, juices and yogurts. However everything was refilled right after it ran out. The rooms were very clean and has been cleaned everyday by the staff. The doors and furniture were old but did it's job. The air condition was working as well. There is also a solarium on the top of the building with sunbeds and chairs with beautiful view on the city, great for spending the evenings. Location is also great, everything is in walking distance from the hotel.

The doors for the hall are not sound proof, so you can hear people walking by.

Fabulous location, a few steps from the Duomo. There's a lot of restaurants, shops, groceries and cafes just outside the hotel. The room is spacious, and the bed is comfortable. Daily cleaning of the room with fresh towels daily and bedsheets were also changed. Staff are nice and helpful. The 24-hour reception is very helpful. Good breakfast. I like the different flavours of croissants available. It is useful and handy to have a lift as the hotel is on the 4th floor. The bus stop is also just around the corner. We took the bus to the train station. The bathroom/toilet is a bit small, but it's okay. The water pressure and drainage are good. It's a bonus to have a small fridge in the room. The aircon is good, too as well as the WiFi. Good value for money. We enjoyed our stay. Good customer service 👍

The front desk and support staff were excellent. Thank you Alex for all your help and advice. Location was just outside of tourist center with very good local stores and restaurants. Check out the restaurants and gelato stops in Piazza di San Pier Maggiore. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment which was roomy enough for the three of us, though it could use more seating in the living room.

We would have liked more selection for breakfast, especially a capuccino rather than brewed coffee. That said, breakfast was free and would be adequate for most. We walked a couple blocks to pay for what we wanted, which was fine.

We had a great stay at the hotel. The room was very comfortable, even though the bathroom didn’t have a shower enclosure to separate it from the toilet, but that really wasn’t a problem for us. The breakfast was excellent, very abundant, and everything was prepared with great care. The hotel staff was also very helpful and attentive whenever we needed them. The location was also excellent — we could walk everywhere in Florence, and the area had lots of cafés and small bars. We loved it.

This hotel is a walking distance to the major sites of Florence. It is very clean, the room smelled great. It has a small fridge, which is great and the bed was clean and comfortable. We were given a room with a balcony which had some views of Il Duomo. The hotel itself is a little kooky. It’s on the top/4th floor of a residential building. It has a great breakfast room with a fantastic terraced area that would be beautiful if only they would renovate it. The breakfast they serve is ok, could be better I suppose. All in all it’s perfect for a few days stay.

Because it is on the top floor of a building, you have to take a tiny, super slow elevator. However you must climb a flight of stairs to access the elevator. Another weird thing is that the whole bathroom is the shower, kind of like a wet bath in an RV. So everything in it gets wet, including the door and some water comes out from under the door into the room. Which is sad because it is damaging what used to be a pretty wooden floor. Everything is severely outdated, including the reception area that has some old nasty looking sofas. It felt disgusting to sit on them. It has the potential to be a beautiful hotel if they would give it a little TLC.
