Very central location but surprisinnice,quiet inside the room. I didn't hear any noise from the street or in the building. Smart self check-in process after 5pm, clear instruction, easy to enter. Spacious room (and bath) with comfortable beds. Once entered the room, I didn't go out till next morning. I felt relaxed and secure and slept a lot. The next day, I was surprised to find duomo was only a few minutes away on foot. p.s. 11am check-in is EARLY, compared to 2 or 3 pm in some other hotels I have stayed in Italy. Free luggage storage after check-out is nice too.

I would like to have a mini fridge in the room, but will definitely come back for the quietness and coziness in the ideal location.

A guest house that I would give more stars than it deserves. With the history of Dante's family (wife). Cozy, clean, quiet, our room faced the inner courtyard. The location is great, central, all attractions are within easy reach. Delicious breakfast served by the host. Our room was on the third floor, the dining room for breakfast on the second floor, decorated with orchids of course, with a wonderful view of the magical indoor garden. You can drink instant coffee and tea in your room and coffee (to pay 50 ct. for capsules) in lobby when ever you want. Also you can buy mineral water for small payment (plenty small bottles in lobby refrigerator) that is so actual in summer time.

It was confusing for us to check in, even though we arrived on time, there were plenty of instructions. We waited a long time for someone to open the front door from the street, another resident opened it. You need to pay for the accommodation in cash to host, although the bank froze the all payment in advance for us and we waited 2 weeks before they returned it.

The owner/staff were really nice and kind people. Great hosts. It was a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. I highly recommend it. The bathroom was impeccably clean, and I really appreciated that. Breakfast was really nice too.

You will need to check in and receive the keys before you can use the elevator, so if your bags are heavy, I recommend leaving them on the lower floor and then calling the elevator down. Also wifi may be spotty depending on your location; it is a very old building.

Location was excellent. It was close to everything. The room was clean and spacious enough for 1 person. Check in can be tricky after 3 pm. Luckily I had a phone from which I could make local calls. Otherwise, I ma not how I would have gotten in.

There was no Wifi in the room at all at any time. I had to sit in the hallway, which was very hot, until the host told me that I had access to a small foyer room. There was no fridge in the room, which is a problem in summer. Breakfats was quite ordinary/boring and the same every morning. I had an issue with the taxi host organised for me. Since I didn't take taxi's details, (my bad) I contacted the host for details. He just ignored me.

Location was near the Duomo and surrounding historical buildings and piazzi. Breakfast was pleasantly presented and ample, and its staff cheery and accommodating. Pleasant staff, helpful with our needs for information. The room was very roomy, which we greatly appreciated after 2 weeks of cramped roons. The old building, stairs, stone, courtyard were an added joy to see.

Just a cosmetic suggestion: The lobby set-up for coffee (24-7) was on top of the small refrigerator. Perhaps if it was on a table over the refrigerator the coffee setup would be less cramped so the welcome ambiance would be improved. The inn is nice and accommodating, and deserves a more friendly and not-so-cluttered first impression. Also, the necessary signage on the walls might be better if placed inside matching framing rather than taped on the wall, causing curling of the paper and the impression the inn isnt well-kept.

Property character, attentive staff, cleanliness and location

There are a couple of brit pubs a block away frequented by party anglos and the noise is very upsetting until very late at night. The facilities at the locanda are super comfortable in a residential area and if it wasn’t for that nuance it would be a 10/10. It is sad to see that there is no ruling in Florence for noise control and the ambition of some to profit from poor behaviours reigns over order

A very nice stay. Our room was really big. We got clear directions as to how to get to the property and how to enter by ourselves. The building has an elevator. The location is excellent, everything within walking distance. However, is being centrally located means that there is noise coming to the room from outside even at night time. They provide earplugs but we didn't need them. Breakfast was ok, though it was mostly on the sweet side, cookies, cakes, croissants etc.

Would have liked some fresh vegetables like tomato, cucumber etc or cut seasonal fruits on the breakfast.

Excellent location, the Duomo was a 5 minute walk away, really central! The breakfast was very nice, and had a lovely view into the back garden from the breakfast room, quite a few books in English to flick through as well. Despite check-in only being till 3pm, the instructions to enter later were super easy, and I even had little notes stuck to the wall with arrows and my name pointing me in the direction of my room. Nice touch! Thank you. I had a heavy bag and was alone, so the lift was great! The area is good as well for going out to eat in the evening, many restaurants within a few minutes walk. The room was very clean and smelled nice, bathroom was clean and fresh. The male employee (sorry didn't catch the name) on reception was very very friendly!

Being in the very centre, and having the window towards the street, it was a little noisy in the evening and at night, but with the windows closed you couldn't hear too much.

The room was perfect, beautiful, large (even the bathroom) with a private, pretty little outdoor area. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and there was plenty of space to put things. The staff were friendly and more than helpful with advice on travel and arranging transport. The continental breakfast was lovely, self service with lots to choose from, a great way to start a long day of sightseeing. The location was amazing, very close to all the main sights but it also felt very local with some great restaurants and bars close by. Even though you are in the heart of everything the room and building are quiet and peaceful, it feels like such a haven to step in to. We also felt very safe. A total gem of a hotel!

Pretty much nothing. As a tea lover, some little long life milk pots to go with the tea and coffee in the room but I know it Italy, that's unusual.

Can highly recommend this apartment because it was clean, comfortable and very central to all the main sights. The breakfast was very good and reasonably priced and the setting was overlooking a pretty garden. The host was always friendly and accessible and very helpful when checking in. I would definitely stay here again.

Maybe access to a fridge and the shower head was in need of repair.
