This was my second stay at Villa Tuscolana. The weather, peaceful atmosphere, and stunning view from the hill were all excellent. It’s a wonderful place for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

there are a few downsides. Reaching the hotel without a car is quite difficult—you have to walk uphill through a forest path, which can be challenging. Also, there was no shampoo provided in the room, only shower gel and soap, although shampoo was available during my stay last year. In summer, complimentary water was only offered on the first day; after that, even water had to be paid for. Additionally, the internet connection did not work in the rooms—Wi-Fi was only available on the ground floor and in the restaurant.

It’s a beautiful grand historic building set on a large elevated property with magnificent sunset views. The bathroom was lovely with a decent sized shower and good water pressure. The breakfast had lots of choices including GF.

There are no fans or air conditioning in the room and with the windows open we got a lot of mosquitoes. The wifi didn’t work in the room, only in the common areas. We couldn’t even get a 4G/5G signal in our room which was tricky as we were waiting on important emails. The grounds, which were beautiful around the hotel, could have done with some maintenance further afield to enjoy them fully as they were a bit unkempt once you left the main reception area. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed on the Sunday early evening when we arrived so there wasn’t much choice for dinner unless you drove to the nearest village.

Nice location in Frascati with beautiful views. Great value for money. Old building with lots of character. Friendly staff who went out of their way to help - we lost a passport at the hotel and they helped us a lot! They also gave us a complimentary upgrade to rooms with air conditioning considering the hot weather which we really appreciated.

The bathroom was a little bit dirty, and one of our rooms didn't have an overhead shower (only handheld shower in the tub). Be sure to double check your room has air conditioning if visiting in the summer!

Amazing huge historical building, fantastic view, nice garden. Room was clean, large, generally comfortable. Very quiet a night. Easy free parking. Wifi was OK - at least in my room, apparently not in all rooms. Kind staff. A remote location, but you can still walk to Frascati.

The hotel would have been great if they could fix small issues: 1) breakfast coffee is terrible and in general the breakfast was not that great. 2) I would have liked a kettle in the room and real glasses (not plastic cups).

After Rome, this was a great getaway. Only 40 min from the center, on a hill, with an unbeatable view on Rome Valley and Hills. Sunset is also great! The villa impresses very much, old but with all modern facilities. Breakfast is great. There is all you need (imho). And the service is outstanding. Very careful personnel. And the price for all this Beauty is quite modest. I forgot: the room view to the valley was something. You need to see it. Aircon worked very well in a very hot day. And of course you need to discover the region. Lots of scenic places and before all Albano lake.

There was a little problem with the shower bit nothing special. Also the bed for too soft. We literally sank in it.

A fantastic view and a lovely historic villa. We were extremely satisfied with our vacation. Conveniently close to Ciampino Airport, about 10 minutes by train. The charming town of Frascati. The 20-minute walk uphill is not too hard at all (though it would be nice if the hotel provided a shuttle service between the train station and the hotel a few times a day). From Frascati, it’s about 30 minutes to the center of Rome by train, so you can spend a day around the Colosseum as well, for example. I don’t recommend this hotel for families with children, but it’s perfect for a getaway for a couple!

Walking around the villa, the back of the building is dirty and full of garbage.

Let's face it, it's the view from this place that makes it worth staying in, and they know that. Everything else (breakfast, room amenities) is not particularly important and likely to be nicer at a similarly rated hotel. But it will not have the panoramic vista over Rome.

Please don't lock out the guests who are willing to stagger up the hill after a night out in Frascati!

EXCEPTIONAL This hotel is a charming-well-preserved historical villa with a magnificent garden and awesome scenery. Room and bathroom were spotless, with a generous selection of toiletries. Breakfast was superb hot and cold buffet. I was part of a large group of 79 people who stayed at this hotel to attend the wedding of my son in July 2023. The setting, the organisation and the food for both the reception and the dinner were beyond expectations. I was very impressed by the hotel entire team, including the front desk staff, waiters, technicians etc…who went above and beyond duty to attend to the guests’ demands promptly, efficiently and with a big friendly smile….A big thank you to the cleaning staff who found my watch accidentally while preparing the room for the next guests after I had checked out and left the hotel. All in all, it was an enjoyable and a memorable stay. Well done Tuscolana.

One-of-a-kind stay! High above Rome in the hills. Beautiful interior as well as exterior. Very peaceful. Plentiful breakfast included. Ordered a meal on the terrace as well as ate in the dining room. Superb service and food.

Hallways in common areas to rooms are dark - you need to turn on the switch at the end of the hallway. Getting there is a bit of a journey. You need a taxi or rental car from airport or central train station it is about 30 minutes depending on time of day. There is no self serve coffee machine available after breakfast.
