Friendly helpful staff who allowed me to check in midmorning and, even though I had said they didn't need to, had my room ready then too. Perfect location for the station as there is a side entrance directly opposite the hotel. Coming out of the station, ignore the last set of steps up to Piazza Verde and turn left instead onto the large patio which you walk across to the exit that brings you to the hotel. Not sure if that exit is marked Andrea Doria.

Hôtel Chopin is across the street from the Piazza Principe and the main train station for Genoa. This was a plus for me as I traveled by train from France to the city. Below the train station is also the subway system so it’s quite easy to move throughout the city. That being said, some might like to be more in the “heart” of the old town. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast, although a continental style, has a good selection.

A few more fruit options for breakfast I.e. oranges, bananas, apricots

We booked this hotel because of it's proximity to both the train station and the cruise port. It's a couple of minutes walking distance to both and we were looking for a place where we didn't have to use any transportation. The room is nice, clean, it's a bit of an older hotel, but it's well maintained. For me the exceptional part was the hotel staff whom I really want to thank very much. We've struggled with train cancellations and reaching Genova, and they provided us with all the additional information and options we've had. It really meant the world to get this information and reassurance about being able to get in even after reception working hours (which is closed only after 2am). We luckily managed to get there earlier than that, but having a local person to provide information was something I really appreciate.

No complaints, will come here if I go to Genova again

The staff were brilliant. Friendly, helpful and supportive. They were so good at communicating and informing. The bed was very comfortable. The location near the Porto Antico and the Piazza Principe Station was brilliant for me. Value for money here is definitely a big plus. I would definitely recommend.

My only issue and it might have been from lack of me asking but the means to make a hot drink during the night would have been the only fault I could find. That was a very minor issue though.

All staff were exceptional. Very friendly and helpful. Location is great.. close to the station, the harbour, hop-on, hop-off bus stop and great restaurants. Hot water was plentiful.

To be expected because of its location, it is has a lot of traffic noise especially from sirens. Breakfast was OK, quite limited compared to other hotels.

Literally across the street from the railway station. You really can‘t ask for a more convenient place when travelling by train. The room is a very good size even for 2 people with plenty of room for luggage.

One thing that was a bit annoying was trying to find a restaurant that was not specialised or had mainly only fish. I am highly allergic and wanted to know what my options were (outside of burgers, which I did not come to Italy for). The lady at the reception said she would send me some suggestions. We communicated in English, so I assumed at least some of the message would be in English so I could understand it. The message I got was in Italian with a standard list of their recommended restaurants mostly those serving mainly fish. So, not really the best personalized customer service. So there I really think improvement can be made. If a customer comes with a specific request a standard form-letter answer is not always appropriate.

A very clean room. A wonderful and polite male receptionist. Moreover, the hotel offers check-in from 1:00 PM, which was very important for me! It is very close to the train station—just a 5-minute walk, which is super convenient for an early departure. The hotel feels comfortable and safe. And they also have an amazingly fragrant shower gel😊 I will definitely come back!

This is a great place to stay when you need easy access to one of the main train stations in Genoa...The room was small but incredibly efficient...plenty of outlets and places to hang things.

Perhaps the street it is on is a touch dark at night, but there is nothing wrong with that...also would have been nice to know there was a key drop for early morning check out....but other than that all was good

It is very close to the central station and metro bus stops are very near to the hotel, just like next door, that’s why we selected it and we were happy to move spontaneously everywhere 🙂

Everything was good only we just felt that our room had no refrigerator, so in these hot summer days we couldn’t keep drinks cool there, but it’s ok maximum time we were outside so for us that’s not a big issues.

This was a comfortable hotel conveniently near the station. The staff were all very pleasant. We felt well looked after. Breakfast was simple but fresh and served by the family. The bedroom was large as was the bed.

The outside of the Hotel looked a bit off-putting, but as soon as we opened the door we were reassured.
