We came here on our honeymoon and they very kindly had sent a bottle of bubbles to our room, which was such a lovely start. The hotel is huge, very green, and has a lot of lovely facilities. The staff were very responsive to our questions, and it is such a nice extra that they have a van that can take you to local towns (finishes at 9pm). The breakfast was amaaaaazing; so many options, including fresh juice they make for you, pastries, and savoury options. The staff at breakfast were SO kind. There is a beach that you can walk to and a pool that is really warm.

The hotel menu was very expensive - for example, we were charged 25 euros just to order room service (not including any food whatsoever). Cocktails and beers were pricey but it seems standard for that area. I was expecting our room to be a bit bigger than it was for what we paid.

The location, the beautiful garden, very friendly staff, quiet swimming pool area, good service, the very good breakfast at all.

We staid 9 nights and ate 8 days there - the quality/ price relation doesn't fit. The kitchen tries to produce artificial / modern dishes, which didn't meet our expectations - we think "less is more". Breakfast was very good but it seems that the fruit juices are diluted with water. On the last three mornings it was stinking a lot - an awful smell. We asked the reception and they pretended not to smell it [other guests had the same experience]. This was not very professionell. The opportunities for a long stay are limited - for a hotel with about 100 guests the options in the very small Spa are too less [especially in bad weather].

Pros: Excellent service--a special shoutout to Lorenzo in the front desk for his kindness and resourcefulness. We were offered a room upgrade on arrival and the room was well-located and very comfortable, with an outside garden terrace and a private jacuzzi. Great hotel location (in Lacco Ameno, northwest of the island). I loved the ambiance, given the lush greenery in and around the property (honoring its name). The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We did not use the spa facilities, but they looked great, including a thermal pool. Its restaurant, Il Mirto, is vegetarian and top-notch; it has been awarded a Michelin Green star. Fair price, compared to other luxury hotels in the island/region.

Con: It does not have adjacent/direct beach access (perhaps a perk when one visits an island), as other luxury hotels might, but there are nearby beaches that are easily accessible.

We had planned to visit Nogombo or Poseidon Water Gardens, but the grounds and hot pools at Botania were so beautiful there was no need to go anywhere else. The small thermal pools situated on a terrace above the resort must be the best kept secret, because we always had them to ourselves...so idyllic! Likewise the opportunity to soak in the huge indoor hot tub in private splendor was fabulous. We canceled our dining reservations in town after sampling the excellent cuisine in the restaurant the first night, and indulged ourselves there all three nights of our stay. The breakfast buffet left not one single thing to be desired -- all delicious. We felt pampered by the staff, and surrounded by luxury the whole time at this fabulous resort!

The free shuttle service into town shuts down every day between 1 and 4 in the afternoon, so you need to plan your comings and goings accordingly. It's not like people have no interest in doing anything in the afternoons, and this struck us as odd. We used it to go to the nearby Mortella botanical garden, which is open all day. Because we had scheduled our pick-up at 12:45 we had to wait for 30 minutes at the garden entrance to be picked up. There was probably a rush of people all wanting to be picked up at that same time before the shuttle service ended for the afternoon.

The entire team at Botania went truly above and beyond during our stay. We felt SO welcomed, cherished and cared for. The room was beautiful, comfortable and we were given a complimentary upgrade. The grounds, restaurants and pools were spectacular. Especially the staff, they were truly so engaging, authentic and incredibly friendly. We LOVED the Yoga classes in the morning with Luisa, she adapted the class to our needs and truly helped make the stay even that much for relaxing and wonderful.

Nothing, truly a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to come back.

Everything was perfect during our stay. We’ve been many times in the Amalfi Coast and in Capri (albeit not in Ischia), and we never felt so special and welcome in a place as much as we did here at Botania. The care, the detail, the attention of everyone made our stay unforgettable and truly unique. We’ve booked for next year already and we’re counting the days!

Beautiful property. This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet has tons of fresh and delicious options, staff was extraordinarily helpful in arranging ferry transfers, car rentals, and dinner reservations. The location was lovely, just a 5 minute drive to Forio. We loved getting apertivo by the pool or at the bar every night before dinner.

Our biggest complaint was the number of bees in the breakfast area each morning. Then breakfast was wonderful but the amount of bees swarming around as we ate was just not pleasant.

We were overwhelmed by the beaty and tranquillity of Botania right from the start. This place is a plant oasis, with natural mineral water, simply food for the eyes and soul. The staff were all amazing, super nice and super helpful. We can't wait to return next year!

The breakfast was one of the best we've ever had. We had to leave early, so Botania were kind enough to prepare a breakfast box for our departure. The contents were an offence in comparison to everything else we experienced. If you are going to offer that breakfast box, it's better not to bother at all.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast and the restaurants on the resort was insanely delicious. The location of the resort is also ideal, walking distance from some of the best attractions on the island.

We came here directly after getting engaged. I requested flowers on the bed when we arrived as a romantic gesture. I was a bit disappointed when they told me it would be 40 euros. For the amount we paid for the stay, I would've expected that to be complimentary to enhance our experience, as it was at the other 2 hotels we stayed at on this trip.

Beautiful and peaceful place. Clean, comfortable, specious rooms. The views are breathtaking there. Spent lot of time by the swimming pool which was in September not crowded and great for swimming and sun bathing. The beach is just 5-8 minutes to walk - its amazing sandy beach with clear water, wonderful for both swimming and relaxing. The hotel staff is nice, very accommodating, helpfull, eager to come with good suggestions what to do at Ischia and helping to arrange whatever you need. Very good breakfast! Loved the place and hope to return back!
