If you have the good fortune to visit Lecce, perhaps you will also have the good fortune to be able to book at B&B L’Orangerie D’epoque. We were blown away when we entered the courtyard on the other side of the street door. We stepped into the past. Our room was well appointed, with a bed more comfortable than our bed at home. Part of the amazing charm was a center garden – full of orange and lemon trees with lots of spots to sit and have a glass of wine or a morning coffee. Breakfast was in the perfect European style, delivered in a beautiful basket hanging on our door in the morning from our delightful hostess. A perfect location only steps from the old city wall and lots of restaurants. L’orangerie D’epoque is the best in Lecce, and it is a 20 in our opinion.

Staying in this converted palace in Lecce was like stepping into Victorian-era luxury. The room was massive, with high ceilings, and the open courtyard provided parking—though it's important to coordinate ahead since space is limited and the entrance is tight. Located just five minutes from Lecce’s historic center, the property also has a charming backyard, perfect for relaxing (though bug spray is a must). Overall, it was a truly magical and unique experience, complete with a well-stocked breakfast and drinks.

We visited during a hot time of year, and the room was a little stuffy / didn't have great air conditioning. If you're sensitive to the heat, I would request a room fan from the hosts.

It is in a great location opposite the Centro Storico. Very convenient to restaurants & key historic places. The internal courtyard is a peaceful haven. The parking inside off the road is a bonus. The family are very friendly & helpful. We would recommend.

The breakfast was basic - cornflakes, fruit & cakes. We read other reviews about croissants being delivered in the morning but we didn’t receive any. Maybe the cake was the substitute. The air conditioning struggled & it wasn’t overly hot outside but quite stuffy still inside. The kitchen has some basics & is ok for fridge & washing up. The stove top is not sufficient for cooking - struggled to boil water even when we used boiling water from the jug.

The rooms were large and quite quirky , position was great for the old town, they also had space for us to park our car in the courtyard. I believe You cannot reserve the parking before you arrive and it is on a first come first served basis. Breakfast was very novel it came in a basket hung on your room door, all the croissant and cake were fresh and still warm. Breakfast is taken in your room or outside in the garden if you wish. Table ,chairs , tea, and coffee all supplied in your room, really quirky and nice. By the way Lecce is great 😊

As I said the rooms were large, but the shower room is very small, especially the shower itself, smallest shower I have seen. Water pressure on the shower is good though. Not a game changer but it was the only thing I could think of that was wrong with our room.

I had booked the family room (as this was all that was available) what a treat.Beautiful sitting room ,art old lamps and antiques,the table set with lovely cutlery, bed with the nicest linen on my trip. I loved having the garden to sit in and the beautifully tiled porches. Also to have freshly cooked breakfast treats ,wrapped in linen in a basket placed on your door. Anna and her mother were beautiful hosts .

The shower was a bit slow however I loved the beautifully tiled bathroom and it was not a problem.

Our room was spacious, clean, secure and comfortable, and was next to a lovely garden area. The location was across the road from one of the porticos into the old city. The breakfast was delicious with cereal, milk, water, juice, coffee and cakes all provided. The host, Arturo, was very helpful in advising us in how to navigate the old city.

Nuisance mosquitoes in the garden so we bought ourselves some insect repellent.

Loved the room (deluxe suite) which was extremely large and very quiet. Loved the vaulted ceilings, the comfortable bed and attention to detail throughout. Breakfast was amazing - warm pastries in a wicker basket arrived each morning to add to the yoghurt, cereal, juice and the Nespresso machine coffee. There is an outside area (the Orangerie) where you can sit under the umbrellas/orange trees. Location was very good - just outside the city walls - 3 minute walk to the gate. Many restaurants in the near vicinity to choose from. Try the Apperitivo at Cafe Alvino in Piazza Sant'Oronzo - you won't need dinner after that! Secure off street parking was available. The hosts were lovely people who were very helpful.

- Location was very good for exploring Lecce. - Hosts are very nice & helpful - Bathroom as expected in Europe was small but hot water worked well, and the bathroom was clean. - Place was quiet and safe. - Home made pastries in our room for breakfast were tasty.

- The A/C really struggled to keep the room cool for our American standards. It wasn't totally broken, but it was hot during the day and only ok during the night.

Large room with high ceilings. Lovely breakfast with home made treats. Great location and friendly helpful staff. Very green courtyard area with orange trees and a banana tree and seating areas.

Our room was really large, but the bathroom was small in comparison,, the shower was really small and could do with being updated. Courtyard garden needed some TLC and garden furniture could do with a dusting.

A dreamy courtyard garden with orange trees and roses. Beautifully decorated rooms with all the comforts you could possibly wish for. Location was perfect as it’s just a few minutes walk to the centre of town. The thing we loved the best was the basket of fresh pastries delivered to the door every morning and the lovely hosts Luisa and Arturo who made us feel so welcome. Stayed 2 nights but did not want to leave!
