The Hotel is secluded and quiet with wonderful views of the valley. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The rooms were very spacious and luxurious for the price of the stay. More like a suite. Breakfast was extensive and very nice. No issue with WiFi, always worked. Staff were amazing. So friendly and helpful at all times. Housekeeping turned our rooms down beautifully everyday. Would definitely stay again.

Hot water in the evening was difficult (lukewarm) which was the only thing I’d change. Very family friendly which isn’t a negative as such just something to consider when booking in busy summer months. Families were all very considerate though.

The personnel, the wonderful very professional and helpful people. They have made our stay stays very memorable, everybody was wonderful, Hibah at the reception and Rainer at the restaurant were especially amazing! The food, great quality and wonderful very personable dinner experience.

The bathroom fixtures were pretty crummy, loose, leaking, old, you may want to bring them up to the otherwise excellent standards of the place. The bed was not exactly up to current standards, the mattress should be replaced to make it more firm.....

What a hidden gem of a hotel! The villa is located in the Tuscan hills 30 mins or so from Lucca. If you are looking for fresh air, sunshine, peace and relaxation, look no further. The hotel is absolutely spotless and has been tastefully and sympathetically decorated and restored. Our bedrooms were absolutely enormous with huge, comfortable beds, fabulous wardrobe space, a separate seating area complete with desk. We each had an extremely generous bathroom with a shower and separate bath. The view from the rooms and from the pool and terrace across the valley is just gorgeous, it's impossible not to sit, stare and drink it all in. But enough about the facilities, the best thing about Hotel Villa Casanova must certainly be the staff who are all welcoming, friendly and have lots of recommendations about where to go and what to do. My one tip would be to hire a car on arrival as the hotel is located in a quiet rural setting and taxis are very expensive in Italy. Several reviews mention the food at the hotel. We ate breakfast every day at the hotel and had lunch and dinner there on several occasions. We were delighted to hear that the hotel sources it most of its fruit and vegetables from the small-holding next door and certainly we found that was very fresh and tasty and the portion sizes were perfect.

Very quiet location, beautiful large room/suite -huge bed. Pool and gardens lovely, plenty of space. Staff were very friendly and offered excellent service. Food was very tasty, and flexible by offering access to three meals a day. Perfect for a relaxing holiday.

Only negative was we had a shower with temperamental temperatures, definitely need a car for this hotel as very remote.

Loved the huge rooms and comfy beds. If relaxing is what you’re looking for this is the hotel. The staff are fantastic and so attentive. The food is brilliant, really enjoyed the daily breakfast changes at the buffet. Dinner was also delicious. There’s parking at the hotel if you’ve rented a car and it’s not far to local towns. The pool area was great for chilling.

I thought the buffet breakfast was a little simple to be a 5 star hotel. The air conditioning wasn't working properly which was a little unfortunate as the temperatures were so hot for June- but other than that the hotel and staff were super !

Me and my wife stayed the night in this beautiful hotel and it did not disappoint! The views, food , staff, and hotel was perfect, very clean the rooms was so big we had a balcony over looking the mountains. If you want nothing but peace this is perfect for you! The pool over looked the mountains the grounds was also beautiful, I would recommend a car as taxis are very expensive and you need to drive to get there, we would definitely come back!!! Nothing it was perfect

The Villa is in a stunning location with large, comfortable suites and a beautiful swimming pool. Breakfasts were excellent with a different selection each day. The staff are particularly welcoming and helpful and I felt like I was a guest in a private home.

Due to the location in the hills, it is necessary to either have a car or to use taxis. With limited taxis in and around Lucca this was a little stressful.

A lovely small hotel in a fantastic position. Our room was huge (they often are in Tuscany) with a great modern/traditional bathroom. As it is out of town, we ate in the little hotel restaurant overlooking the valley. It was superb with fully homemade cooking and great ingredients. Also, great breakfast buffet and cooked as needed. We loved this hotel.

Beautiful location for a stay but tricky to access to snd from Torre del Lago Puccini Festival, given landslide. Best to enter from Lucca and great for stay rather than one night. Delightful property, very helpful staff, excellent breakfast, beautiful room.
