Our stay was absolutely superb! The room we had was really big with more than enough space and breakfast was really good value for money. All of the staff from the moment we arrived were amazing; incredibly helpful, booked restaurants for us and Marisella who hosted our wine tasting was incredible! Highly recommend the wine tasting - the value for money was exceptional. We all loved our stay and would highly recommend to others.

The only two things I would have loved was a floor length mirror in the bedroom and a dressing gown but they are both tiny things! The hotel is fabulous but would’ve loved these two things as well

From the time we arrived at the reception we knew we were in for a great stay. The city and the hotel were magical , we did not want to leave. Antonio gave us the warmest welcome. He was informative and you knew the entire staff were dedicated to making your stay the best it could be. The breakfast was delightful with typical Italian selections and alternatives to meet anyone’s needs. It’s hard to put your camera down even the bathroom is worth a picture. We travel extensively and this stay definitely stands out . We would recommend and hope to return someday to enjoy their delightful wines and ambience , Millie Grazie

Amazing stay. Staff super friendly. Especially Maria Stella who helped as at breakfast and even helped us map out my next few stop in Bari. We booked through booking.com and the hotel advised us of a few lots we could park in. We walked from Damascus parking lot to the hotel (a bit tricky but it only took 10 minutes and google maps worked well). On arrival, we were welcomed with a nice glass of wine, room was ready before check in time and check out was a breeze. Breakfast was excellent and served in a super cool room. Will definitely return to this hotel and recommend to others.

The staff are excellent. Maristella at the dining room helped me cut any fruit I like for breakfast, 4 to 5 times, very patient and quick. (The fresh fruit choices are many.) She also listened well to my needs of tea. Thank you, Maristella for my wonderful breakfast! Antonio at the reception is so welcoming. He gave me detailed advice for touring and room facility. Thank you, Antonio. Also a lady at the front desk helped me on my key (sorry I did not know her name).

The wooden door of No.1 can be designed more tightly to block the bright street light at night.

The hotel was beautiful, our room was stunning carved out of stone and beautifully restored and staying true to the original design, even the a/c vent fitted in with the decor! The bed was so comfortable. The bathroom doesn't have a door so make sure you're very comfortable with your other half! Also Matera is all steps so bring light bags you can carry for 10/15 mins from your carpark or be prepared to get a taxi. I'd highly recommend a stay at this hotel if you visit matera as its perfectly located in the middle of the Sassi

It didn't end up affecting us as we arrived at 8.30pm on the dot so were not charged however I got an email the day before arrival saying that if we wanted to check in between 8.30-10pm we would have to pay €50. Our flight landed at 6pm in Bari and by the time car rental paperwork was filled out and we got on the road we just about made it. There was no mention of this charge when I booked as I knew we'd be late so might have avoided this hotel. So just a warning if you've a late flight!

Very nice room located in a cave. Decorated with a lot of taste. Sapcious and confortable. Very kind staff who helped with our special requests. Nice breakfast. Located right in the heart of the old city, very convenient to walk around. Easyly accessible, we left the car at a parking lot (not free) 5 min walking from the place.

No hot water in the shower. It was not freezing cold but not hot for sure. Other than that, the water is staying on the floor after you shower. It would be nice if the room could be eqquiped with a big full size miror. The bed was a bit small in lenght for a 2m guy. The breakfast room is equipped with a single long table and when we came, only 2 spaces were left in the middle of other couples we didn't know. It would be more nice I think to have couple of tables instead of just one big one.

I think this one of the best in Matera! Based on my review of the different hotels available. The lobby is a wow! As well as the dining area! Our room is very unique as well! Love the set up! Didn’t realize until the following day the hotel is very close to the 007 church; we kept walking to the opposite direction and almost missed the beauty nearby.

The room got muggy after the shower; definitely could use a fan for ventilation. The faucet (for the sink) is very unique too, hanging from the ceiling; it’s just very wobbly we were afraid we would pull it off by accident. The little metal stick to turn it on/off keeps on falling off, maybe tighten glue or weld it? Eventually it’ll get lost.

Everything about this accomodation is excellent! The staff: From their assistance in arranging travel from Bari, and then to Sorrento for us, their warm hospitality and the lovely breakfasts, were amazing. The hotel: The hotel and our room was beautiful, and very quiet with a very comfortable bed and air-conditioning. Location: Perfectly placed in the Sassi, steps away from restaurants, the cathedral and easy access to the town square, we felt safe walking around at all hours and enjoying the beautiful views. We definitely recommend Matera and Palazzotto Residence & Winery.

The location is great! The room was so spacious and cozy. Not cold at all. The smell was so good, blankets, towels, soaps, we loved everything! The lobby is beautiful, it has such a nice atmosphere. The breakfast room is a dream! Really a beautiful hotel! Everybody was lovely with us (including our fur baby Molly). Highly recommend this place and would love to go back and stay longer.

I arrived at the end for breakfast and the choice of salty things as cheese, ham, etc was not that much. They could maybe check that every guest would get all. All the rest was perfect!

Our stay was exceptional. From the stunning foyer and dining area built into a cave, to the beautifully appointed rooms, this was the perfect place to relax after exploring the magnificent Sassi. We were fortunate to have views from three balconies!! The staff were welcoming and attentive and the breakfast buffet was delicious, as was their wine. A convenient transfer service is available if car parking is required. Don’t miss this opportunity; we highly recommend Il Palazzotto.
