We had a self contained room complete with bathroom, chairs, coffee table, kettle, fridge, glasses, plates, tea, coffee etc. Our room was very comfortable and we had air conditioning so slept well even though it was hot outside. Breakfast was on the terrace at 9 every morning. There was plenty to eat and drink served to us on trays. Emanuele was very helpful and welcoming. The B&B is in a very central and picturesque location. There were restaurants and bars below us and a lovely gentle buzz in the evenings. Matera was a fantastic place to visit and this was the perfect place to stay.

We loved our stay in Matera! The B&B is right in the heart of the Sassi — PERFECT location! The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. We arrived early, and they kindly let us leave our bags so we could join our tour. Emanuele was amazing — so friendly, hardworking, and he prepared a lovely breakfast each morning. We really appreciated the little touches: a bottle opener, wine glasses, coffee pods, and a fridge stocked with Coke, orange juice, and water — all for free! We’d love to come back. Grazie mille! x

Breakfast was fresh croissants with jam, yoghurt and a traditional Italian potato slice , and coffee served out on the balcony by Emanuele our host. Our accommodation was in the old area of Sassi and Emanuele gave us good advice of where we could park our car 10 minutes walk away as the old area does not have car parks. It was a great location to explore the old city and we did heaps of walking exploring old churches, art galleries and lovely restaurants, enjoying listening to local musicians while we sat with a wine watching parades, weddings and learning about the local culture . It was close to restaurants but lovely and quiet at night . Would definitely stay again 😊

I loved the whole thing, the bed, the view, the bathroom, I even had olive oil shower soap and a nice view from the front and back of Matera, the host was excellent in communication and even offered a nice big breakfast in the morning sitting on the porch with an amazing view of Matera, beautiful, clean, There were drinks in the fridge all sorts, tea and coffee if you need anything, helpful taxi and travel maps and guides on the table, The bed was huge and comfortable. Nice air conditioned relaxing room.

This is a great option in the very heart of old town Matera. Great options for restaurants and sights very closeby. The owner and staff were very accommodating and the room was top-notch and comfortable and clean. Breakfast was substantial served on a pretty patio with a view. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful location and very helpful & kind hosts who went out of their way to assist us. The terrace area was perfect to enjoy breakfast & also for aperitivo. Spacious room well fitted out with coffee machine & wine glasses.

The bathroom pump was unfortunately quite noisy, whenever the water was running or flushing the toilet, but probably can’t do anything about this in an old building

We loved Matera and the host of this stay was very accommodating. Very spacious room and great breakfast. Amazing to walk around and explore

Nothing really but just beware that if you have a car you can’t take it into the old town or close to the stay. Take the bus from the top and it would drop you right in front of the place

Super property right in the centre of Sassi di Matera. Lovely owners, really helpful and great breakfasts too! Local bus stop right outside, but everything is walkable. Many really good restaurants nearby. Top tip: Do watch the video sent from the owners with directions on how to find the property. It is not obvious to spot from google maps.

Emanuele was very accommodating during the check in process and made sure I had everything I needed. Breakfast in the morning on the terrace was lovely, and he was a great host. Location was perfect and accessible by car which was also a plus for taxi services. Would stay here again next time I'm in Matera!

This fabulous structure is owned and run by Margherita, who's energy, enthusiasm and attentiveness are outstanding. Gradelle di San Nicola is perfectly placed for access to the center, it is comfortable, characteristic and charming. The breakfast is superb. Margherita also gave us excellent tips on a local guide (well worth doing) and where to eat in the evening. All round fantastic !

The curtain over the entrance door to our room didn't fully block out the bright light from the terrace, but that's a very minor consideration.
