We loved our stay here! The property can not be any more central, it is literally in the heart of Sassi, Matera. The room is very modern but keeping the vibe of “cave room”, it was clean and it had a balcony above with a stunning view. Also Roberto was amazing! When we arrived he gave us a map of the city and explained to us where we should go for the most beautiful view-points and places! The breakfast was nice, Italian style. If we ever come back to Matera, for sure we will stay here again!

Magical Matera — a wonderful residence, very authentic, beautiful, and cozy, with a pleasant interior and an even nicer terrace with a unique view of the old town. If you really want to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Matera, this is the place. We also really enjoyed the breakfast — simple but delicious. The evening before, our host Roberto offered us a choice of croissants with different fillings — chocolate, pistachio, or cream. He also offered us a selection of drinks — coffee, juice, water — as well as different kinds of yogurt. There was no lighting in the shower area in the bathroom, so it was a bit dark.

We had a lovely time staying here, Roberto was a great host, he made sure we had everything we needed and ensured we had a great few days in Matera. Breakfast was simple but very tasty and kept us going til lunch. The room was clean and comfortable and plenty of space for a family of 3. The location was great, tucked away in a quiet spot but had plenty of restaurants and shops close by and only a few minute walk from all that Matera has to offer. Would happily stay here again if we ever return.

We had an amazing time in Matera. If you are planning your route in Puglia PLEASE dont skip this beautiful town. Roberto’s place was really nice and comfy, he gave really useful tips and indications to see the village and where to eat, etc. He took care of us and did his best to make our stance there perfect! Higly recommended!!! Ps. Room Aqcua is inside of an ancient water cistern, really interesting experience for a night! If you are planning to spend more time there, I would recommend you trying other of their beautiful rooms to be more confortable.

We stayed for a night in Matera and the accommodation was right in the heart of the old town. The host sent us information on how we could reach the accommodation and where we could park our car and was very polite and helpful with everything. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location was quiet and allowed us to sleep like we hadn’t slept in months! We would definitely visit again and recommend the accommodation.

The location was fantastic and Roberto the host made our stay very special. His communication, even though it was through translate, was wonderful. He gave us wonderful tips and he was extremely helpful in every possible way. The room was clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Roberto provided a lovely Italian breakfast in a beautiful courtyard. I loved Roberto’s attention to detail.

Roberto the host is amazing, he is very kind and worked hard to address any questions or issues we had during the stay. He speaks limited English but was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make the stay great. Breakfast included is a nice touch. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with nice features.

The cot initially provided for our 2 year old son was a next to me crib but this was swiftly resolved by Roberto so couldn’t really complain.

The breakfast was great, I'm glad they offer the service because the nearest caffe is quite far! I also really like the room and the location, right in the middle of the sassi. I especially liked the owner who did all that was possible to make us feel at home.

It was all great, we went during a heatwave and the air-conditioning wasn't powerful enough, but I think on all other situations it should have coped well.

The rooms are very nice, clean, neat. The owner Roberto was very helpful and kind, always present from the beginning of the reservation. The facility has a beautiful little terrace from which to view Matera and have aperitifs at sunset lights.

The facility is right in the center of Matera, the suitcases have to be carried by hand for about ten minutes on the cobblestones because cars can't get in. But isn't that the beauty of Matera?

Host very helpful and helped us to orientat to Matera. Room minimalistic and we'll decored, pillows very comfortable. It is situated in the centre of Sassi Di Matera surrounded by bars & restaurant but still quite rooms.

It's not a dislike - but in Matera, be prepared to climb the stairs. Good shoes and using a back back baggage, It's helpful when using the stairs.
