The No. 1 selling point for this hotel is the staff. So, smart in dress, so friendly, so knowledgeable and with the ability to speak different languages including perfect English. From Matteo and Chiara on reception to Matteo in the Breakfast Room they were all a delight to deal with. The hotel itself isn't modern but is immaculately kept in every single area. Everything just shines! Someone with a real sense of pride looks after this grand old building. The bedroom and bathroom were serviced daily and were always nice to return to. Being on the 5th Floor we were lucky to have a small terrace with table and chairs for sitting out in the sunshine. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of cereals, yoghurts, rolls, pastries, meats, cheeses and hot bacon, sausage and egg. The breakfast room was very pleasant if quite small. Once or twice other guests needed to wait for a table and I can imagine that if that if the hotel was full that this might involve a little wait. But, for us, we had a table immediately each morning and Matteo remembered our hot drink of preference each day. The location of the Lancaster Hotel is perfect if you are reasonably active since the large Sempione Park is close by and it's only a 30 minute walk to the area of The Duomo. The number 10 tram runs fairly close by and this runs all the way from the Centrale Railway Station down to Navigli. There are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel and the area felt quite safe to walk even at night.

We can't criticise the hotel at all as we are familiar with Italian hotel rooms often being smaller than many people are accustomed to, so we were not expecting a spacious bedroom. The bathroom was well equipped with a shower, basin and bidet but it was a little small. Negotiating the various obstacles in the dark required some care. If the wash hand basin had been smaller then it would have helped move around. Thank you to everyone at The Lancaster Hotel for making our first visit to Milan so enjoyable.

This hotel was perfect for everything we needed, the room was clean and had everything we needed for a city break. The location was great and a nice walk to the centre through a pretty park (sempione). The breakfast was lovely and there was plenty of choice and they would even give you it to take away if you were making an early start. The best part of this hotel was the amazing staff who literally couldn't do enough for you and there was always someone on the reception 24 hrs, as two woman traveling alone this was the most comforting feeling and definitely a place to feel safe after a busy day, we loved it and would definitely return x

The hotel is located in a quiet, upscale suburban neighbourhood with nice eateries and parks nearby. It was a short walk to a few different attractions like museums and art galleries, and a slightly longer (but still very manageable) walk to the city centre. We travelled by train, so had to take a taxi to the hotel, but would definitely stay in or around this area of Milan again. Staff at reception were friendly, efficient and quick to offer us coffee/tea if we were waiting in the lobby for any reason. Our room was clean and comfortable, and had windows that actually opened (I always prefer this if possible). The breakfast buffet had a good selection and staff made sure it was kept well stocked.

The hotel is pretty old-school, and that may not suit everyone. For example, the rooms had an actual door key that had to be left with reception when you were out and collected on the way back in. The rooms themselves, while clean and comfortable, were tired and in need of a refresh. The door to our balcony had a very loose handle that we avoided using for fear of damaging it further. The hotel mostly attracts an older clientele. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it meant that upon arriving for breakfast, a staff member insisted on explaining the breakfast buffet set up to us before we were seated. This wasn't needed, and was honestly a bit odd.

The hotel was a gem - great facilities, clean and comfortable - the room was lovely, it was excellent. Breakfasts were excellent too, and it was very well-located in a lovely, green part of the city, a short walk through the beautiful park to the centre of town. The icing on the cake were the staff. They were friendly, knowledgeable and they made the stay a total pleasure. Perfect!

The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The hotel had old-world charm, but with full convenience and amenities. There is a lovely in house bar. Breakfasts were good. The refrigerator in the room was nice to have. 5-minute walk to restaurants and park, 25-minute walk to shopping, cathedral, etc. We will definitely stay here again.

The shower was a bit small; a large person would have some difficulties.

The hotel fully met my expectations: Good location, Public transport stops were nearby, Good places to eat were also nearby, The room had a large bathroom, A very good breakfast for every taste, Excellent coffee (I especially liked the way the cappuccino was served ;) ) and Extremely nice, professional and friendly staff. I´m very satisfied with the hotel and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good experience in Milan!

During the first days of the stay, there was no shower gel in the bathroom, and on one occasion there was no bottled water in the fridge, which was always there on the other days. It probably depended on the person who cleaned the room. At the same time, this is a very small deficiency, which in no way affected the overall satisfaction.

the breakfast buffet had a fantastic choice. the staff even supplied vegan chocolate blackberry croissants. location is great, a short walk to the citilife shopping district and the Sempione park / centre of Milan is at the top of the street. About a km away is the subway. the room was lovely and spotless. All the decor was very art deco.

no tea or coffee making facility in the room. However, a call to reception and any drink alcoholic or not can be made for you. everything else is excellent.

What a lovely little hotel. The room was very comfortable with a big shower. The breakfast was included in the rate which was fantastic, but the standout of the premises were the staff, they were very well spoken in English, very friendly and super helpful. Oh, and there was a quiet, classy 24-hour bar in the lobby too.

The location was a nice 30 min walk to the centre of Milan which bypasses a large park, the big arch (Arco della Pace), and the Sforzesco Palace which wasn't at all a negative for us however if you prefer to be closer to the action or don't like walking, it may be.

Stayed here for a trip to see AC Milan with my son and it is a perfect hotel for a visit to the City. Although it is a little further out from the centre it has some great bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk and there’s a pleasant walk through the parks to get to the main central areas. Breakfast is good and the room was v comfortable with a nice clean bathroom. Would recommend to anyone wanting a comfortable base when visiting Milan.

Our experience at the Lancaster Hotel was nothing short of wonderful. The personnel was exceedingly kind and helpful in every way possible. The hotel is located on a quieter street of Milan, a 10-15 minute walk to two different metro lines. Breakfast was good. The room size was typical of older European buildings in large cities. I happily recommend the hotel without reservation (pun intended).
