My stay at Castel Brunello was one of the best experiences I’ve had as a guest anywhere that I’ve traveled. It was my first time traveling solo internationally and also my first time in Tuscany, and I made several blunders when it came to planning my transportation. Erna and Wolfgang treated me with such kindness and generosity, going above and beyond to ensure that I was able to explore the area and make the most of my stay. Everything about the property itself is idyllic. The photos really don’t do it justice. The pool and gardens are lovely and the views are stunning. I ended up with a spacious suite that was impeccably clean, comfortable and thoughtfully stocked with amenities. The daily breakfast provided a nice selection of breads, pastries, fresh fruits, charcuterie, cheese, eggs made to order, and more. There are also two fantastic restaurants just a short walk away where I had some delicious dinners. I am so happy to have found Castel Brunello and hope to return!

We stayed at Castel Brunello for our honeymoon. The hotel is at the end of Sant’Angelo in Colle and it was really quite. There is an outside and inside free parking. The inside one was really useful given the summer heats. The place was exceptionally clean. The rooms are big and spacious. The breakfast was simple, but really tasty with high quality products. As for the hosts and staff, everyone was awesome. They were kind, caring and always there to help if we needed anything. The host was helping us book dinners every day and gave us lots of information for local wineries. The place was like from a movie and it looks better than on the pictures in booking.

The property is absolutely beautiful with flower gardens and an outdoor pool and lounge area overlooking scenic rolling hills. We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit which was equipped with a fridge, kitchenette, washing machine, a sauna, TV, and a private patio. It had a beautiful rustic charm and was clean and well kept. What made our stay so wonderful, however, was the phenomenal hospitality provided by the host, Erna, and all of the staff. They were exceptionally kind, warm, welcoming, and attentive to our needs without a fail. The first day of our arrival, we were unable to get lunch nearby as the 2 restaurants had temporarily shut down due to a power outage. Erna personally prepared an amazing lunch for us with fresh ingredients and it was delicious! The complimentary breakfasts were the best I have ever had and the kitchen/seating area is beautiful. Erna personally made dinner reservations for us each night we were there. I cannot say enough about how perfect our stay was here and it is thanks to Erna and her wonderful staff.

Absolutely amazing place and people!!-I would not simply call them staff bc they are just nice people. They were accommodating at every turn. We planned our trip last minute which can be hard in peak season in Italy. We had no expectations that our requests would be met, but Sofia and Etna (hope I spelled those correctly) starting making calls and have enough connections to make it happen! Nadia the tour guide and Eladia (spelling?) at the brunello winery were so kind and informative! We met the owner and had a fantastic tasting, amazing experience! We could not be more appreciative! The rooms are updated, well appointed, but have kept the charm of the castle. The view is breathtaking, the grounds are magical day or night. Breakfast is top notch, everyone is so attentive! You can tell this is a labor of love. The small village is a nice little walk and has beautiful views at sunset as well. Il leccio is a great place for dinner after your walk. The village has very steep sloped cobblestone sidewalks so wear comfortable shoes! Overall, we would go back in a second!

The journey from a major airport (Rome) is something you need to plan for, as it is 2 1/2-3hrs. Rent a car or if you get an uber to take you from FCO, it will be hundreds of dollars, so be prepared. Our driver got us there faster than any other method of transportation, as the high speed train does not go there. Also to anyone with motion sickness, this is a classic very curvy mountain pass, so take something and plan accordingly lol

Castello Brunello is a great place to stay! Easy & welcoming check-in, a good size, updated & clean apartment with it's own outdoor space to sit. A well equipped kitchen, plenty of towels & supplies in the baths & comfortable bed. The A/C works very well although we didn't need it all of the time because of the fresh breeze coming through our open windows. Fantastic view of the grapes & olive trees from a great pool area with plenty of lounge chairs; the garden throughout the property is well kept & full of lavender, rosemary & flowers. Plentiful delicious breakfast options & coffee or eggs served to your table if you choose by smiling, efficient staff. Close proximity to the town of Montalcino, a hot Spring and vineyard tours/wine tasting. The lovely multi-lingual, accommodating owner Erna Dorfmann is very hands on & makes it all run smoothly: from greeting guests with a smile to serving breakfast and everything in between!

We loved everything but a minor suggestion is to maybe add a stand-up reading lamp next to the chair or sofa in the living area for nighttime use. An observation is the walk to Sant'Angelo in Colle is closer to a 10-minute walk with some hills & uneven stone pavement for those with physical limitations (but you can drive over in this case).

This is an absolutely stunning luxury hotel that looks like a 1500 year old castle! The rooms are very large with all modern amenities. There was a beautiful in ground pool, an incredible, included breakfast, eggs cooked to order, cappuccino, toast, danishes, cereal, and more. Our hotel room had 3 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a washing machine, a fridge, etc. It's within a 5 minute uphill walking distance to a tiny mid evil town called Sant Angelo in colle. There were two restaurants, the one we ate at was absolutely delicious. The views are stunning from the hilltop. The hotel is located 20 minutes from the famous town of Pienza, which we did a day trip to and is famous for its cheese, and the part of the movie "Gladiator" was filmed there. Don't miss it, it is the most beautiful town I have seen. The lady who checked us in was very kind and polite. We booked a 2 room sweet, and she recommended a larger rental, so she upgraded to the 3 bedroom unit for no additional fee. The rooms had great ac, beds were comfy, and the property looked brand new. Great place to stay!!!!

Phenomenal small boutique property 10 minutes outside of Montalcino. Hosts live at the property and were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome, and entire staff was exceptional. All rooms are set around a central courtyard but set back enough and with strategic plants/gardening to create a sense of privacy. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment, which was very comfortable. Great location at the bottom of a small village (walkable) and 10 minutes to Montalcino. During afternoons by the pool, we enjoyed drinks and light snacks with a view over the valley.

The property is approximately 12 years old although the designs compliments the local area very well giving it a very authentic feel. Surrounded by fields of vines with stunning views. The rooms are specious with lovely air condition throughout. Serviced daily and spotlessly clean. The staff could not have been more attentive, a credit to the owners! The property is within walking distance of a beautiful village which hosts a couple of really nice restaurants.

The place is amazing, with a beautiful view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed every moment we spent there. The breakfast was delicious. We had a very good selection of wines, with a small tasting when we arrived. The owners helped us with booking bikes, wine tours and dinner reservations, all of them being top notch. I highly recommend this place 😍😍. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the fridge was fully stocked with everything you need

We loved everything about it. Nothing to complain about

We got a nice personal greeting, tour and oppty to choose our villa upon arrival. Erma was incredibly nice and even though we were a little early to check in and starving, she and the incredible staff brought us some fruits, meats and cheese to enjoy. This is a fantastic property and the people are equally great. The location is perfect in Tuscany as it is close to a lot of towns and vineyards but also feels like we are in our own place. We are definitely going to stay there again and feels brand new but yet rustic. The breakfasts are out of this world and the attentiveness of the staff is even better. Of all the places we have stayed globally, this was one of the best.
