We spent four nights at Hotel Vecchia Oliviera. The hotel is elegant and traditional, with magnificent views over the valley. Its location near the entrance of the town makes parking easy. It’s just a short walk to the center, where you’ll find charming shops and many excellent restaurants. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and delicious — you definitely won’t start your day hungry! The garden is a lovely place to relax, and the pool was a fantastic bonus, especially with temperatures reaching 33–36°C.

Property was clean and nice. The staff was awesome. They were very welcoming and always willing to help.

We booked two rooms as were party of 4. One of the room AC didn’t work as well. It was more or less running fan. The cold air wasn’t blowing as much. We did notify the front desk and they tried to change settings but that didn’t help. They said it’s because of two windows in the room but I bed to differ on that. The AC in that room definitely needs to be looked into.

This place is wonderful! We absolutely loved it! The staff are INCREDIBLE! The property is lovely! The breakfast is really nice and it's in a great location.

The WiFi didn't really work - the first few days there was none whatsoever in the room nor outdoor areas. Other times the WiFi was weak and slow. The pool closes far too early - 7 pm in the summer doesn't make sense. Many of the views would be fantastic but have poor design - high window ledges, high balcony walls, high hedges in pool area, etc. The housekeeping came even when I put up the tag on the door saying I didn't want service, turned off the AC every time (it was over 100°F for our stay), and replaced the towels we had hanging to keep.

Dream-like views of the Tuscan countryside from the bedroom of this charming hotel in a great location at the edge of the historic center of Montalcino. We loved the lawn and lounge chairs that also looked out to the stunning view. Private parking was an added bonus. Clean, quiet, lovely. The best part of our visit to Montalcino was this hotel.

We pretty much liked everything. It was great, that we could park right nexxt to the hotel in a private (outdoor) car park. The staff was great, we were warmly welcomed, and assisted with our luggage, and we also received help with dinner reservation and a fantastic concert recommendation in the fort. The room was spacious, with views over the Tuscan landscape. The poolm is small but is more than enough to cool down after some sunbathing and relaxing in the garden - which also come with a view + bar service (ice cold prosecco served in a very stylish little bucket). Everything was lovely, breakfast is plenty and tasty, coffee is also great.

Not a thing.

This was my second time staying here. The room is comfy and my view of the countryside was lovely. The staff were super helpful. And having private parking on site is really great. But the best thing is breakfast. You can choose to have it on the terrazza which is built into the 13 century walls and has stunning views.

Loved the stay here, ideal location for exploring both Montalcino on food and the area by car. The hosts are amazing, friendly and helpful in every way they can.

There wasn't a negative point!

The location and in particular the view from the hotel terrace are stunning Breakfast was good, stuff very helpful. The location of the hotel on the edge of the little town is perfect - Allows you to drive up to the hotel and park your car. Montalcino is charming, the perfect location, to experience the beauty of Southern Tuscany - it also has various restaurants, some of which are excellent and reasonable; again the hotel recommended two very good ones.

When selecting a standard room, one of our rooms did not have any views from the window - yet the stuff was very helpful and managed to move us into another room. Once moved we had a very nice stay. Would recommend to choose a superior room.

The location was perfect. Right as you entered Montalcino. You could walk from the hotel into the town easily. The view from the hotel was absolutely beautiful! Especially eating breakfast on the veranda. The breakfast was excellent. Fresh cut up fruit salad, homemade cakes etc. Very nice. Air conditioning in the rooms was a plus.

Can't think of anything negative.

We loved everything. The customer service was exceptional. Super friendly welcome. Always happy to help. Room was fantastic with amazing views (number 8). Breakfast excellent. There is nothing negative to say. Thank you so much. We cannot recommend Hotel Vecchia enough.
