il Giglio hotel was beautiful. Our room was on the 2nd floor (no lift). The staff is very accommodating. Their restaurant for dinner and breakfast was delicious! The view of Montalcino from our windows is incredible! The hotel is in the center of the adorable town and is within walking distance of everything (shopping/dining/Montalcino's sights/inCoop market) within 5-10 min. I really liked being able to store our luggage at the hotel until our driver picked us up (2pm). Il Giglio is a terrific hotel!

The people and location are lovely! This is a wonderful town and hotel. I love the restaurant - the Chef /owner is the wife; the maitre d’ is the husband. Food is delicious! And special!

Its not their fault! Its a wonderful old building and my room was on the 3rd floor. My reservations were made last minute so I knew that would be the case. When I checked in i handled my over-packed luggage myself. But I would stay there again!!!!!

The hotel is located in a very well maintained old building in the center of Montalcino. The restauration was done in a very artistic way. It was such a nice feel to stay in such an old building. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

There was a misunderstanding about the parking as I needed a parking for my car. But it was resolved later on.

We had an unplanned stay in Montalcino as our hire car broke down nearby one Sunday and we were unable to arrange recovery.until the following day. We were rescued by a Montalcinan vineyard owner who kindly drove us to Il Giglio. We were quite stressed but the hotel was lovely and comfortable, the view amazing and the town very beautiful. Lovely as the town and hotel are, what was even more impressive were the efforts of Michele and his Mum (from the hote)l in translating phone calls, helping us to arrange recovery of our car and driving us out to meet the recovery vehicle. They could not have been more helpful. We arrived in Montalcino during a festival and had a fabulous stay. It ended up being one of the highlights of our Tuscan holiday. The town itself is stunningly beautiful but we were so much more impressed by the kindness of its residents. A truly lovely experience. I can't recommend the town, the people we met or the hotel highly enough

Nothing it was lovely.

The location, the comfortable bed, the quality of the sheets, the pillows and pretty much everything. The staff are super nice and really take care of you. I love the fact that they had a restaurant below with an amazing wine list, and the views are to die for. Breakfast was full of lots of cakes and other alternatives. A family owned property and relaxing environment.

Great location in Montalcino with a beautiful view! The breakfast included was delicious, and the staff was friendly and let us bring breakfast up to our room. Staff helped us with a map and places to stop on our drive through the Val d’Orcia. The AC was strong. We loved reading about the property in the card in the room.

The only (small) issue was that small fruit flies congregated in the bathtub. We were able to wash them down the drain, and the bathroom was very clean but I think the humidity brought the small flies.

A comfortable small hotel managed by the longtime owner. Nice restaurant for breakfast or dinner. Room was adequate and comfortable.

Car was taken to a remote parking spot by owner. Difficult to park at the hotel to unload luggage. Not a serious problem though. A little difficult to find although it is on a main street.

The location was excellent. It was in the middle of town and it was easy to stroll around the area and discover this beautiful, historical town. The hotel was a perfect size and everyone was so friendly.

Location is excellent. Hospitality is highly pro - gentility and thoughtfulness towards guest needs. The hotel owners and staff are attentive, discreet/low-keyed, and welcoming. I had small single room with 140cm bed - very comfortable bedding, quiet, classic Tuscan deco (quality), well-appointed small bathroom (shower/bidet/sink/wc) with window. Breakfast room - beautiful views from large bay windows.

I liked everything about the hotel. I would gladly return there.

The location of the hotel can't be beat, and the views from the outward facing rooms are amazing. The breakfast was generous and delicious, with a huge selection of cakes. Overall it's a lovely little spot with an elegant but homey vibe.

It can be difficult driving around Montalcino! Best to bring the car to the hotel and let them park it.
