The staff is super nice, they made us feel welcomed since the first second. Rooms are nice and clean. The view of the valley is amazing.

A bit old and not renovated, but everything works properly.

This place is a con! We paid €195 and got nothing. The status as a three-star hotel is absurd. Positive: We were greeted by a helpful young receptionist. Apparently we were the only guests in the entire area. On booking.com today they report fully booked, which we find very difficult to believe. The room was supposed to be a no-smoking room, but we were met by a heavy smell of stale cigarette smoke. The room seemed very worn and was characterized by a gloomy atmosphere. The furniture was battered and the beds uncomfortable. The bedspread looked like it was cut from an old carpet. The bed linen and towels were clean, though. Outside, the lack of maintenance gave the same impression of a place that was abandoned by the owner. There was a gravel parking space outside, no areas that invited you to stay on site and enjoy your holiday. A pity, because the location overlooking Montecatini Terme is nice. On booking.com we had searched for accommodation incl. breakfast, and Santa Barbara was among the results. We chose it based on pictures, reviews and description (which mentions bar and "a traditional restaurant"). However, the receptionist informed us that there was no breakfast and that the restaurant was closed. The positive reviews on booking.com must either be fake or several years old. The description and the pictures (where you see nicely set tables in a restaurant) is grossly misleading. Why do such lies appear on booking.com? Without any breakfast option on site it was extra critical that there was no fridge in the room, so that we at least could have bought food ourselves and stored it. Although we had prepaid for three nights, we decided to leave. Instead we found a four-star hotel in Montecatini Terme for more or less the same price - including breakfast.
