A clean, beautiful, modern city hotel in a central location in an old town house. There is a small elevator that works well. Our superior room was very spacious with a small balcony, the bed was super comfortable. There was also a small minibar and a Nespresso machine in the room. As expected, it is very noisy towards the street, but the closed windows are soundproof and there is air conditioning. The water pressure in the bathroom is also excellent. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. We did not have breakfast. Cafés, restaurants and a supermarket is within walking distance. The historic old town is just around the corner, as is the metro. The main train station can be reached by foot in 15 minutes.

Not that it's a bad thing, but it's more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel. The Nespresso machine in the room is great, but you have to pay for the coffee from the 2nd capsule. Free coffee would be a good amenity for guests.

The hotel accommodated early ( 7:15 AM ) breakfast when we were taking a Ferry Tour to Amalfi at 8:30 AM from Molo Beverello. Pastry, fruit, yogurt, cheese and ham were always available. Coffee was good too. We all loved and adored Marco who would go above and beyond to help with luggage, stuck elevator, call to a museum or order local taxi. He even called us during a day to update us on a tour and arrangement he did. The other staff member, Daniele, was so so. He was very nice to me but other family members felt anxious, like they were bothering him and felt unwelcomed coming too early to breakfast area. The rooms are nicely furnished, with a safe and a fridge and each room had at least one balconette with cute table and 2 chairs. Bathrooms have modern tiles and walk-in shower that is a bit too tight for my 6' 3", 230lb husband. Also bathroom are one step up so one has to be careful not to forget and trip. All our three rooms ( we travelled with grandparents ) had some odd step up or down.

The entry from street looks shabby and so is the lobby area. But hotel was good to text us pictures what button to press to get them buzz us in. The elevatore is tiny, only 3 skinny people can fit in and often gets stuck. You need to press extremely hard to get it working. The B&B is on the 3rd floor, but once you are in, it feels wonderful.

- Location Very central, comfortable to move around the city. - LIFT! Never goes for granted in old palazzos in Italy. This place has it and it works. Baby stroller and luggage fit. Dream came true - staff Super helpful, lovely guys who offered flexible check-in hours and free upgrade for a bigger room.

- it’s not what it seems Don’t get me wrong, it was perfectly fine for what we paid and what we needed (place to sleep over 1 night, no special requests). But… don’t get misguided by website/instagram page. On social it gives off almost boutique hotel vibe (scrambled eggs and orange fresh for breakfast, sleek posh minimalism of the interiors and so on, those little details you recognise when the job is done well). Well, it’s not like this. It’s nice and functional, but nowhere close to boutique, seems that owners have changed recently and new ones have picked up a different management strategy (from almost luxury hidden gem to quite an economy level)

The Grey is situated in a beautiful building, in a great location. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Daniella was very welcoming and was really knowledgeable about Naples. I would definitely recommend The Grey as a great place to stay, and I would book again. Good access to Metro and walking distance to some great locations. We loved Naples.

The only thing I would add is that it would be great if the bathroom was a bit larger. Although, don't let that put you off.

We appreciated the Map provided which we used to see much of the City. We appreciated and enjoyed the staff, always helpful. We enjoyed the balcony space and spent time there each day.

More so about the building and not The Grey, there was a bit of a musty smell. While the location worked well for us it is located on a busy street, we like to walk in the mornings and saw some not so great things (someone getting sick). There was more light coming in the room in the mornings than what we prefer.

The Grey is one the best "rooms" we stayed in the last 10 years. Location, service, assistance were superior: the decor of each room and common areas is stylish and functional with the best of italian design tastefully presented. All the equipment and the access system were operating correctly making life at the Grey a pleasure. On top of this Mr. Daniele and his team provided a competent and courteous service: follow their suggestions and Napoli will open specially for you. Location is among the best with easy, walking, access to 80pct of what you would like to see in town. Elegant, serviced, central apartment in Napoli.

Difficult to find something not likeable at the Gray. Once you buy the vision and philophy of the establishment, everything fall into place with a big TEN in satisfaction. A little more space in the standard room could be the only desire.

We booked super last minute and within a few hours, the staff, in particular Francesco messaged us to assist with our stay. He managed the quick change request and also ensured our stay would be comfortable as we were traveling to kids ( 3 years and 18 month). Upon arrival, we were greeted with everything we needed + valet taken car of! And Fransesco provided us with many local reccommendations that allowed us to really experience the authentic food from Naples I also asked if it was possible to arrange a day out on the boat so we could tour the Amalfi Coast, Capri and Positano so we didn't have to do day trips and he took care of all of that too!! It was the highlight of our Italian Tour

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Grey, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The rooms were immaculate and perfectly appointed, providing a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere. Every detail, from the plush bedding to the well-stocked amenities, contributed to a truly relaxing stay. A special mention must go to Daniele, whose outstanding service made a significant difference during my visit. Despite being injured, I felt incredibly well cared for, thanks to Daniele's attentive and compassionate assistance. He and the staff went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met, making my stay not only comfortable but also memorable. Additionally, The Grey's central location made it incredibly convenient to explore all of Naples' main attractions. Whether you're interested in historical sites, vibrant markets, or delightful dining options, everything is just a short walk or a quick ride away. I highly recommend The Grey to anyone looking for a top-tier hotel experience. The combination of spotless rooms, exceptional service, and a prime location sets it apart, making it a standout choice for any traveler. Thank you

The rooms were lovely and very clean. The balconies were adorable overlooking the city streets. The staff was so nice and super helpful in scheduling taxis and especially with helping store our luggage after check out before our train.

The building is old and quaint with a lot of charm. However, travelers should be aware of the extremely small elevator (accommodations on the 3rd floor). It was very difficult to get our luggage in and out of the elevator; since we were in Italy for over 2 weeks; we had some large bags. We had to make multiple trips when checking in and out. We also had breakfast included (which apparently is not included anymore-it’s 12E) but did not know that it didn’t start until 8 am. We had to leave for a tour at 8 am so we couldn’t enjoy our “included” breakfast. The timing would have been helpful in planning tours. When comparing other hotel prices in the area, this now seemed a bit pricey for the area & accommodations.

I was blown away by this hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They include robe and gloves which is a nice touch, and a stocked mini fridge. The service was absolutely exceptional. The staff anticipated all of our needs and took such great care of us. They also booked us a private ride to the airport which made our ride back feel so easy and luxurious. Would definitely stay here again!
