We enjoyed an exceptional experience at Hitel Smeraldo! The views over the Amalfi coastline toward Positano are beautiful beyond belief. The view from the breakfast terrace is amazing as are the views from the rooms. Our room had a private terrace with a bath that we could have enjoyed for hours if there weren’t so many other highlights to explore. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They were only too happy to call taxis for us. The reception also has a small area with beautiful fashion from a local designer that my wife and daughters loved. We genuinely hope to stay again!

The hotel is on the main road with no place for Taxis to park so you have to be quick getting in and out - especially with luggage. Praiano doesn’t really have a town centre so while there is a nearby supermarket you need to travel to the towns of Positano or Amalfi if you want to spend time shopping.

The hotel has a fantastic location with breathtaking views over the sea and Positano. Free parking is available. Every detail reflects the spirit of the region, with great attention to every corner of the hotel and the rooms. Everything is very clean and well organized. The food is delicious – the chef cooks in front of you with real passion, even shaping the bread like a heart. The hospitality from the owners and staff is truly outstanding. The bus stop is very close, and they are always ready to help with everything. We enjoyed every moment and it was an excellent choice for our trip to Southern Italy.

We loved this property!! The complete set up is Wonderful. Location in the Middle of Amalfi Coast. The Lobby’s front Door is at Street Level. They have a Lift and also 3 Floors The pictures say it all about the View. The Landlord and Staff treat you like family. The Terrace was our place to Eat Breakfast which was lovely. They also A Restaurant for Dinner we ate there 3 out of 4 nights. Pizza oven. Just Great. The Room had a huge Covered Balcony. Room was also High Ceilings. And full Bathroom. This place is a Hidden Gem. If you can get a Room do it.

The views are incredible! The breakfast & dinner balcony face Positano which is perfect if you want to see Positano but not be in it. There is lovely blue and white tile everywhere and it’s nicely and simply decorated. Bathrooms are very clean. Our balcony had a nice bistro set for enjoying cappuccino. Breakfast is very nice with eggs, pasteries, meats and cheeses. The hotel is family owned and everyone is there. It makes customer service really easy. Also just down the cliff side (a ton of steps through cute walkways) is a beach club and small swimming area.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect—just a 5-minute walk from the bus station, with a beautiful sea view, and situated in a calm and peaceful area that’s ideal for relaxation. My room had a breathtaking view of the sea, which I enjoyed every morning from the balcony. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. They went out of their way to provide recommendations, arrange transport, and ensure everything was just right. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind after a busy day. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with beautiful views, great service, and convenient access to public transport.

We stayed 3 nights with my wife. There are several reasons that we like the hotel: Staff and owners: It's a lovely family hotel. The owners and all staff were polite and supportive from the beginning of our reservation. They did their best and answered every question with details. When we couldn't find a nice table in a restaurant in Positano, Raffaele helped us to make a reservation. I'm glad to meet them. Location: There are 4 advantages of the location: 1- The entrance is on a level with the street. You can reach the hotel without stairs. This is one of the best things in Amalfi cost because of the natural positioning of the general buildings or restaurants. There is an elevator in the hotel. 2- The bus station is in front of the hotel. Even though we rented a car, somedays bus was the best option. In Positano, car parks charge around 8 euros per hour. If you have time to wait a bit, it will be worth it. Although, parking your car in the wrong place is too expensive because of the parking penalties. 3- The view is stunning. The hotel has a wide range of sea views and also you can see Positano to Capri. 4- There are 3 small beaches below the hotel (after 400 stairs). 2 of them are privet beaches and you should make a reservation in advance. one of them is a public beach but you need to bring your towel, etc. there is no chairs or umbrella. Restaurant: They are serving beautiful local dishes with a beautiful view. Also, breakfast was quite good. Other Supports: They helped us to organize a boat tour to Capri. There was a small group (12 people) with us and It was worth it. (110 Euros per person)

It is not about the hotel, It's the nature of the region. In Amalfi cost, parking is the biggest problem. The car park is 20 euros per day. But you will get that it's not bad for the region. In positano they are charging 8 euros per hour. If you would like to take your car, you need to make your plan earlier and ask your car from the hotel. The car park is around 10 minutes away. So listen to Raffaele, use buses when they fit your plans:) Sometimes it is the best option.

The view from the room and the restaurant are unmatched. It is so beautiful to watch the sunsetting over Positano every night from the hotel. Staff were amazing and extremely informative, very helpful and very kind. Location is perfect, not even 5minutes to the main bus stop that takes you between all the towns on the almafi coast and some beautiful restaraunts in walking distance including the food at the restaraunt at Smeraldo. The breakfast is so so good and the staff at the restaraunt are the best too. Couldn't rate this any higher, stay here!!

Beautiful view, gorgeous room. Family was very nice and accommodating. Food (especially pizza) was outstanding. Restaurant manager was informative about the area and giving suggestions.

Bar and restaurant prices overpriced, however you pay for convenience.

the staff and their service, you feel that they actually care about you and they all are there for any kind of help even if it is not related to their hotel. They helped us arrange our transportation and they upgraded us to a room with a view, they replaced my wife’s plate because she didn’t like the option she choose, they are genuinely so kind my wife and I absolutely loved everything and we will definitely come back again

to be honest, nothing!!! our 2 days stay was such a short time and we wanted to stay more but we had other plans arranged.

Beautifully appointed rooms, we had a sea view with a nice size balcony with table and chairs. Location was the best and the staff were so welcoming and friendly and very hospitable! Loved everything about this family run hotel! Awesome breakfast and a lovely boutique with original pieces designed by their son.
