The accommodation is just a step away from the Vatican, in a safe and pleasant neighborhood. It's lively, but you can sleep without any problems at night. It’s not a modern hotel, but rather a classic one — which doesn’t take away from its value at all. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very delicious, and the kindness of the staff made it even better.

This is an old hotel so don't expect modern furniture or decoration. But it is very authentic. I have read many complaints on the elevator, for example. The elevator works perfectly well but it is from the '30s but obviously upgraded for functionality. So it is a very old lift, with manual wooden doors. So using it is an experience in itself! (in my humble opinion). The whole place could use a renovation but than it would probably loose a lot of its character. So if you don't mind a bit o mould smell in the bathrooms and a slightly noisy A/C, this place is very good. The breakfast was simple but good, again very authentic. In this hotel, you feel like being in Rome. The staff was super friendly. The beds were good and alls sheets were super clean. Note that I also stayed in a very good room, tripe, facing forward. Lot's of good restaurants and mini markets around the area.

I found it a bit pricey and the breakfast time slightly too short (from 7:00 to 9:30). Frigobar was empty when we arrived, not serious :-)

This hotel is a gem of the past, I was told it was built around the 1930s. Great character and even better location. It's about a 5 minute walk to the vatican, with shops and restaurants close by. Staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is great just enough to start the day great quality food. I strongly recommend this hotel, we will definitely be coming back. This hotel is a gem in Rome, price doesn't come in to the equation great value for money.

This hotel doesn't advertise luxury, luxury is overtaken with character and location. The location of this hotel trumps everything else, when you stay at this hotel be prepared to step back in time. Its a message from the past, god bless the Emmaus Hotel Rome.

We enjoyed Rome from the heart of Rome. The location is super convenient. The hotel is a little old but you don't feel it when there is so much beauty nearby. And the staff is nice and friendly. Special thanks to the Biju employee who met us, you can immediately see the professional approach to work. Breakfasts are perfectly balanced and delicious. Thanks to all the wonderful kitchen staff.

i really liked the location. i did not expect it to be so near the St Peter Square. the hotel was clean . our linens/supplies were refilled/resupplied and room cleaned so well. breakfast was great . the Staff, Viju, allowed us to bring packed breakfast because we had to be at the airport early. he was really nice and amiable and very helpful. so, too, with the man who was at the counter when we arrived . the tall guy with curly hair.

i didn't like the staff that was manning the front desk. i think his name was Orie. he was the night shift and very lukewarm. did not even smile. when we asked him 'how are you", he simply answered "i am busy". not very nice. he is not fit to be in the front desk.

The location could not have been more perfect for a young solo female traveler who just wanted to see the Vatican safely. The train station is a 7 minute walk away, there are four good restaurants within sight of the hotel door, 2 convenience shops, a taxi stop right outside the front door, and a metro station across the street. The public entrance to St. Peter's Square was 5 minutes straight down the street, and I could see the basilica dome from my window.

The beds were a little outdated, but that may be me holding them to American hotel chain standards. The complimentary breakfast was adequate.

The hotel was incredibly quiet even though it was almost fully booked. Something I was very positively surprised by, because when I got to the hotel I saw the lobby was full of young people on a school excursion. But the hotel had upgraded my hotel room, without saying anything, so my stay was peaceful and not on the same floor as all the young people. The hotel staff showed professionalism and a service that the hotel can be proud of. Next time I'm in Rome it will definitely be the same hotel I will book.

Absolutely nothing. The hotel room had old-fashioned charm. The hotel staff were smiling, helpful and very service oriented. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of it. The perfect stay.

The hotel is close to the St. Peter’s Square and Basilica’s entrance. It’s surrounded by lots of restaurants and souvenirs stores. I forgot the name of the person who checked us in, he is from Indonesia, I wished I remembered his name, he was so helpful, gave us all the information we needed, and the lady that served breakfast in the morning, we saw they are happy with what their doing.

One person who was on duty one evening. Looks arrogant. Did not offer help, nor greeted us, face shown like,” what you people doing here”,

This is an absolutely charming hotel as if depicted in a 19th century novel. Breakfast was tasty and diverse. The location is great and the staff is fantastic. Just steps from the hotel is restaurant Padi where we had the best pasta carbonara of our lives:)) Although we didn't know what to expect, we loved everything about this place:)

I liked everything:)

Its staff was very freindly. Served breakfast with love. Reception staff was very helpful. Location was the best possible as close to most monuments. 5 mins walk from Vatican City.

Its location and staff. Just next building were grocery stores. Excellent food joints to left n right side of hotel. 4 mins walk was carrefour express. Taxi stand just outside the hotel. Receptionist called taxi for airport as wanted a large taxi.
