We had a very enjoyable stay! We met several receptionists throughout our stay and all were very friendly and helpful. They gave us great tips for where to eat as well. The room was in great condition with AC, and the bed was very comfortable. The location is also very convenient and it's a short walk from the St Pietro train station as well as the Vatican. We'd definitely stay here again!

Great stay! The staff was exceptionally kind, the location perfect—right in the city center - Vaticano city—and the room was comfortable and well-equipped. Highly recommended!

The breakfast was good with an adequate quantity, but it could offer more variety. Finding the hotel was a bit tricky due to a small sign, which could be more visible.

The property was very clean in a quiet location walking distance to the Vatican. and San Pietro train station. We had a lovely and spacious room with real plants in the wall recesses just like in the photos. The windows (at the top) were remote-controlled which was a nice touch as we liked to open them to air the room whilst we were out and then close them in the evening before turning the air con on. Continental breakfast was delicious. What made our stay more special was the staff who were always really helpful and professional and made us feel like home. Thank you so much Oliver and Bruno for taking care of us - your hospitality was top notch and truly memorable. Also thank you Marco for your correspondence before our arrival and all your assistance too. We were very happy to have picked this cosy little hotel and recommend it highly to anyone who wants to visit Rome. P.S: Bus 64 from Termini to San Pietro bus stations goes around the city centre, and stops a min walk from the hotel which we found very useful. There is a PAM supermarket almost next door to the hotel which was very convenient

Small little hotel that makes you feel comfortable, a very nice "home" to stay in while visiting the Vatican. Front desk staff was very helpful and always available. Hotel was perfectly located close to St Peters square, very safe to walk around with many restaurants in the area as well as a grocery store. Clean and spacious room, nice bathroom. Breakfast was very complete with a nice selection of fruit, protein, veggies, pastry and coffee; also the permanent tea/cookies was a nice touch to have after returning from a day outside. The staff was very corteous and polite, and they all went out of their way to help. I would return.

not about the hotel, but it felt a little too far to walk back from the metro or bus in ottaviano and Resurgimiento plaza with Jubilee crowds preventing from crossing st peters square.

Would stay again! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Clean and modern rooms with air-conditioning. The breakfast is simple, quality selection. Close to train station and multiple bus stops so easy travel in to the city centre. Closer to the Vatican, the area is quieter than other parts of the city for sure. Great restaurants nearby. Great price for what they provide, I have paid more and got less at other Rome hotels.

Good transport links, and a couple of streets away from the Vatican. Lovely staff and a well maintained room.

Lovely hotel, it’s hidden away so you don’t hear as much of the city noise that you would in other city hotels. The location is brilliant, your 5-10min walk from Vatican City and there’s plenty of restaurants and shops near the hotel. The rooms were a good size and very very clean! The staff were very friendly and always available for help if needed. Perfect for a city break where you just literally use your room to sleep.

We had the room with the plants in the walls. It was a beautiful room but the window near the bed at the top, if you closed the curtains you could still see this window in bed, which was fine at night but come 7am when the sun rose it did wake me up. The shower is incredible but we couldn’t get the rain drop shower to work, Tbf this didn’t really matter as the other shower head worked fine and was very good.

Everything was great. They replied to my questions prior to my arrival, most of the staff were really helpful and kind, location is excellent for the Vatican, the breakfast was simple but complete, with eggs, yogurt, fruit, ham, cheese, different kinds of bread, pastries and delicious coffee.

There was a confusion at the front desk because I had requested two single beds and they had approved it before my arrival around 2 am, but some couple arrived before us and they gave them our room, so we had a double bed for the first night. They were very apologetic and did fix it the next morning.

I stayed here 14 months ago and said then I would be back! And I did!!! Valentino and his staff are amazing. As soon as you go through the massive wooden door on the street to the Hotel Paolo II they go above and beyond for their guests and do this so graciously. Nothing is too much trouble. The room is spacious and the shower is always lovely and hot. As a solo traveller in my 70’s I always felt safe and well taken care of. Roma St Pietro is about 300m and the Vatican about the same. A little supermarket is a few door up. On my next visit to Rome I will also be booking in here. Highly recommended.

Absolutely nothing.

This was a lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. And someone was available 24 hours a day. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is provided. The hotel entrance is in a courtyard behind a door on the road. There is a small sign indicating the hotel name. It is easy to get in. Either the door is already open or you ring the buzzer and they let you in straightaway. The hotel is very close to the Vatican. There are buses from close by which go to the centre of Rome. We chose to use the metro and walked around 1 mile to Ottoviano station. It is an easy walk and takes you past the Vatican which is particularly beautiful at nighttime on the way back to the hotel.
