It was the best breakfast we’ve ever had. They offered a variety of options in the hot breakfast, beyond the usual bacon, scrambled eggs, and sausage. Many types of croissants, fries vegies, breads, cheese, fruits etc. The staff was super friendly. They even packed us a take away breakfast when we left early in the morning. The location is very central and there is a bus stop right in front of the door. There are a couple more bus stops and a team stop 3-4 mins walking distance. Central station (Termini) is 8 mins walking distance. It's also possible to walk many attractions like Colosseum, Trevi fountain, etc.

The room was of average size. The bathroom was pretty old. The shower was very difficult to operate. It also smelled bad in the room if we kept the bathroom door open. The duvets were very old and were wrapped between bedsheets, difficult to use. Either too hot or too cold. I expected more from the room when booking a 4 star property.

During our recent stay near Rome Termini, we discovered a delightful hotel that truly exceeded our expectations. We stayed on the 5th floor in a room boasting a breathtaking view of a basilica—a sight that made our stay feel very special and definitely worth the money. The hotel's location is incredibly strategic. You can easily explore Rome on foot: the Colosseum is just a 20-minute walk away, Trevi Fountain is similarly accessible, and you can reach the Vatican within an hour. Plus, the surrounding area is vibrant with plenty of good restaurants, charming coffee shops, and even a supermarket for any quick needs. Breakfast was a highlight every morning. With a wide selection of options, excellent Italian coffee, and an amazing view from the terrace, it set a perfect tone for the day. Having visited Rome three times, I can confidently say that this hotel offers exceptional value for what you pay. While the room wasn’t perfect, it carried a lovely old-world charm—a vibe that resonated with the elegant spirit of the Italian people. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I would gladly recommend to anyone planning a trip to Rome.

Excellent front desk, open 24/7. Excellent location, extensive variety of included breakfast on rooftop terrace (wasn't explicit on booking.com). We had beautiful view of basilica. Good windows , couldn't hear traffic below. Great blackout blinds. Big bathroom!

Conveniently located walking distance from Termini but far enough away for peace and quiet. Friendly staff, great room (I had a balcony overlooking the church), walking distance to many restaurants and a wonder free breakfast buffet. You can walk to most attractions, or just go up to Termini and grab the metro or a bus. They also have a small lobby bar if you need a nightcap after a long day. As a woman traveling alone I felt perfectly safe.

I recently stayed at the Mecenate Palace Hotel in Rome and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The hotel is ideally located, just steps from the beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and within walking distance of many key attractions like the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. It’s also close to Termini Station, which made traveling around the city very convenient. The staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a charming, classic décor that made it feel very Roman. One of the highlights was the rooftop terrace — the views over Rome were breathtaking, especially at sunset. We had breakfast there every morning, and the variety and quality of the food were excellent.

The hotel was super clean and the air conditioning work very well. Our room was rather large and the temperature was always cool to very cold. I really love the roof top bar and restaurant and the waiter up there are the best! The manger Jon did not disappoint as he upgraded our rooms to a suite. Jon was so welcoming and treated us very special. As a matter of fact all the staff was professional and friendly. We will stay in Rome for another day when we return from our cruise and we will definitely be staying there again. Thank you Mecenate Palace for your outstanding hospitality.

The convenient location near the central station made it easy to navigate the city, with many major attractions within comfortable walking distance. The staff was exceptionally polite and attentive, always ready to assist with any questions or needs I had throughout my stay. The highlight was definitely the rooftop breakfast area, which offered absolutely stunning views across Rome while enjoying the morning meal. This special touch added a memorable dimension to the stay. The room had excellent soundproofing, providing a peaceful retreat from the busy city outside, and featured a great view that enhanced the overall experience.

However, the quality of some breakfast items was disappointing, particularly the underprepared omlet. The hotel itself appears to need renovation, with outdated decor and furnishings throughout. I experienced some little issues with leaking plumbing during my stay, which was inconvenient. I was also disappointed to find no bathrobes provided in the room, which I would expect at a hotel of this caliber. While the location and service were definite advantages, outdated condition of the property detracted from the overall experience. The hotel has great potential but would benefit from modernization to truly match its prime location and rooftop views.

The location was easy to access from Roma Termini by foot. The view was incredible of the Basilica. It was also easy to walk anywhere for dinner, drinks, or gelato. The rooms were classic and the ceiling height was incredible! Loved the old/classic/vintage feel. It felt very old world/upscale and I loved it!

I wish there was more communication about the room key? I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to take it with me when we went out to dinner. It was quite heavy and thought the point was so you didn't lose it. I didn't realize I was supposed to leave it at the desk and reclaim it when I returned.

lovely rooftop terrace with bar. fantastic view of Santa Maria Maggiore from our room and also the rooftop. pleasant breakfast selection which was just enough and saved us buying breakfast every day. excellent location - easy to walk everywhere, we did catch the metro to Vatican which was also easy. Close walk to Termini Station. friendly staff, someone always at reception. Also bar downstairs.

There were stairs to go up to the rooftop terrace, not accessible by lift. didn’t bother us but not suitable for someone with mobility issues.
