The hotel itself was lovely & small, super clean & in a great location to all the pubs & restaurants away from the main city center. The bed was unbelievably comfortable & overall was a super quiet hotel with a small number of rooms. We had a lovely balcony.

The breakfast was excellent with a variety of options including fresh fruit. The waiting staff were very attentive and happy to oblige with requests such as an extra cup of coffee or tea. The rooms were furnished to a very high standard with every comfort such as slippers, bath robe, luxury toiletries, hairdryer, kettle, TV etc. The staff seemed highly professional and were very welcoming. They speak English and French very well and maybe other languages. This was not an issue for me as I am a fluent Italian speaker and translator of Italian to English, but it may be an important consideration for guests who do not know Italian.

I was disappointed with the location of the room which was on the ground floor and very dark meaning we had to have the lights on all the time which marred my stay somewhat. I suffer from claustrophobia so it was a bit oppressive for me. Although a spectacular view is unimportant, I would have preferred a room with more natural light coming in. I would definitely choose Loly hotel again but would request a room higher up with more natural light. Perhaps it should be made clearer to travellers at the time of choosing and booking a room that some of the rooms are on the ground floor with not much natural light. I would have gladly paid extra for a room on a higher level floor with more natural light. For this reason I give the Loly 9/10 rather than a full 10/10.

I booked Loly Boutique Hotel while on our walk there for 5 nights after a scary misadventure at our prior B&B booking while jet lagged from travelling all night. I was looking for a nearby hotel in Trastevere with a 24 hour front desk staff that seemed comfortable and safe for my elder mom (her first trip to Europe) and I. We got what we needed and more. The staff were exceptional: from excellent restaurant and cafe suggestions, enthusiasm facilitating transportation requests and reservations, Italian wine knowledge and tastings at the bar, and overall welcoming demeanor, they made a lasting positive impression after our initial travel plans had gone sideways. This smaller boutique hotel has a community-like feel and we tremendously enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast was delicious with many options, from freshly baked sweets, to salad, salumi, insalata, eggs, bacon, pancakes, and more. Again, the staff were amazing. They made and effort to learn our names and had our coffee and wine preferences memorized by the third day. The location is unbeatable. Quiet on the edge of the hip foodie community of Trastevere so you can sleep without ambulance sirens or drunkards keeping you up, but close enough to walk to all the key sights (or a quick taxi away) and food stops. Literally around the corner from Fatamorgana, (a food tour hot spot of gelato places), and a short run to the Tiber River to log some stress free miles for other runners like myself. The showers and bathroom were great, the balcony and chairs a nice touch (a little cool outside, so we skipped on that), and the bar/lounge was a great place to put your feet up and relax after a long day with some wine (with included snacks). Our room appeared entirely wheelchair accessible except for our balcony, if that's important for you. The shower could be rolled into (glass folding doors that could be stowed completely for access) and included a shower seat, rain head, and wand.

Two minor things: 1) The thermostat was hard to understand, and the room was sometimes a bit cold, but that never interrupted our sleep and the bath robes provided were enough for extra warmth for us (we visited in mid March). 2) Sometimes it took a little while for housekeeping to get to our room, but I suspect the housekeepers were quite busy with many people checking out that day, and we returned from our day in the early afternoon. Another of the staff kindly let us know when our room was ready (upon their own initiative) in the lounge where we were relaxing with some wine, snacks, and a book.

The breakfast was very good, although it would be nice to have a bit more variety, as the options were pretty much the same every day. I would also suggest that the hotel makes more use of the nearby market – it would be great to see more fresh vegetables available at breakfast. Everything was great – the staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and always smiling. The rooms were very clean, and the housekeeping was top-notch – thank you so much for that! We definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back again. The location is fantastic! The neighborhood has a great atmosphere, and most major attractions are just a 30–40 minute walk away – perfect!

I just did not like the fact that we arrived once at 10 at breakfast and breakfast was ending at 10.30 and yet at 10 when we arrived there was almost no food left and the staff did not care about asking us if we need anything, they were just waiting for the time to pass until 10.30 and close the breakfast

Liked location. Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly but not outgoing.

No coffee maker in room or turn down service in eve. Other places we stayed in Italy had complimentary drinks/bar tickets to use during the stay. And sweet snack waiting for us at bedtime. They went the extra. Water was not provided bottled in the room 24/7 complimentary. Items on the coffee tray never replenished. For the price of these small rooms we would have liked a few of the above extras to make a stay more like home. The bar staff was very anti American. That was surprising to us. So we just stayed away from him and the bar. Took our cocktails to another restaurant. Didn’t need to hear him rant about our great president. Unprofessional.

Great location near central Trastevere with access to restaurants and shopping. Modern facility that met our requirements and expectations.

Perhaps increase the number of staff to make the hotel more receptive to the needs of guests, especially restaurant/bar service. Room lights were confusing.

A little gem tucked away. Beautiful decor, fabulous room, lovely breakfast and friendly staff, felt very comfortable here. If I was visiting Rome again, I would stay here.

On check out there was 1 lady at desk and something obviously was wrong she was talking very loudly and animated in Italian I couldn't understand she called for another girl to help, she was lovely and when I asked what was wrong just said I dunno something happened. I didn't know was it us or something happened before we walked in was little confusing for us, just thought was bit unprofessional from the other lady, like keep it together til we leave or go in the back room and let off steam!

Location of the hotel absolutely perfect for the Trastevere district. Lots of nearby amazing restaurants and small boutique and independent shops. The hotel is exceptional. Wonderfully decorated. Sophisticated and stylish. The staff are very attentive but not overly which was lovely. The front desk staff were superb booking taxis for us and recommending local restaurants. The person who took out luggage to our rooms was very polite and helpful. The head barman fantastic. Great cocktails and superb antipasto.!! Highly recommend. Breakfast too was excellent and extremely good value. Really really recommend. We very rarely go back to hotels only due to the fact we travel to many locations but I have to say I’d def go back to Loly a real gem of a find. Boutique at its best,

WE loved our stay at Loly Hotel. Trastevere is a really great area to stay, lots of cobbled streets, interesting buildings, shops, bars and restaurants. It has a very positive vibe. Loly Hotel is in a quiet area of Trastevere which meant we could enjoy all the nightlife and then have a peaceful night's sleep. The staff were excellent, really helpful and friendly but not over the top. It was 40 euros from the airport in a taxi. We did 4 nights in Rome, it wasn't long enough, we are going back and will definitley stay at this hotel again.
