I really love the spaciousness of my room. The ceiling is high, high enough to have a Mezzanine level for wardrobes and workspace. The shower and the toilet are separate, and there is a kitchen with all the amenities as well. As a solo traveller, I love the space I had, you could easily fit 4 in this room! The hotel itself was used for multiple purposes throughout history. The property is also located in the 'quieter' part of Venice which gives you a more authentic feel. The pier is just 2 mins away, making it super convenient to go to the airport, Murano, Burano, and Venice itself.

Nothing, it was such a nice hotel and I really enjoyed my stay here!

My husband and I stayed there along with our daughter. The location is nice in that it is in a more quiet part of the city yet within walking distance to most places. The room was spacious, though very sparsely decorated - had more of a dorm feeling than a hotel feeling, but I guess this is the hostel vibe coming through.

Two negatives and the reason why we are not providing top rating: We had booked as two adults + 1 child and were disappointed that we did not get a double bed and instead had a room with three single beds. Normally when we book like this we always get a double bed and do not need to request it specifically. Secondly, the set-up around the breakfast was not dimensioned to the number of people staying. We stayed for three nights and each morning the breakfast serving was quite chaotic: long lines at the coffee machine, lack of cutlery, cups, etc., food not being available, etc.

Staying at Combo Venezia was a true highlight of our time in Venice. Housed in a beautifully renovated 12th-century monastery in the charming Cannaregio district, this property offers the perfect blend of historical charm and modern comfort. The location is unbeatable, especially for travelers arriving from Marco Polo Airport. Simply hop on the Alilaguna blue line water bus, and Combo is just a short 100-metre walk from the Ft. Nove stop—an absolute blessing if you’re traveling with large luggage. No bridges or tricky alleyways to navigate! The building itself is stunning. It’s been cleverly reimagined into a vibrant space that caters to all types of travelers—from students living in-house to older couples and solo adventurers. The design is a thoughtful mix of sleek industrial lines and original monastery features, giving the whole place a cool, contemporary yet grounded vibe. We stayed in a standard canal view room, which was just as pictured on their website—minimal, modern, and very clean. The view from our window was lovely, and we appreciated that we could open it to let in fresh air if desired. The air conditioning worked well, and the entire property, including shared areas and bathrooms, was spotlessly clean and serviced daily. The courtyards and communal areas are a dream—spacious, cool and ideal for lounging. There’s a great bar and café, plus a restaurant and even a canal-side deck that’s perfect for an evening spritz or a quiet moment with a book. It’s a social but serene atmosphere, never too loud or hectic. Being in Cannaregio gave us a much more authentic, local experience of Venice—fewer crowds, great nearby restaurants, and easy walking access to all the major sights. We truly felt like we were part of a living, breathing neighborhood rather than just tourists passing through.

We loved everything but personally two more pillows would be great though I’m sure if we had asked they would supply. The addition of little bedside tables would be ideal too. Even a tv on the wall. Though Venice has so much to see and do you would hardly watch a tv!

a double room with a view of the canal, the bed was super comfy with great pillows, one of the best sleeps throughout our stay in Italy. Good bathroom and good shower, warm with excellent pressure. Wifi was free and worked really well. Climate controlled room with adjustable controls in the room. Very clean and tidy. The hotel has a free luggage storage facility too which is very handy. The breakfast in the morning was a good basic breakfast with solid options (eggs, bacon, cereals, croissants, yogurt and fruit, vegetables, juice, tea and coffee). There is also a bar and an in house restaurant with a good menu and is reasonably priced. The location is great, just away from the busiest areas of Venice but still in easy walking distance from the attractions and vaporettos. The hotel itself is in a renovated building and includes a lovely, large internal courtyard which was a great place to wind down after a busy day sight seeing. A lovely quiet and relaxing place to stay.

We had no issues throughout our stay.

We liked the uniqueness of it, and its relaxing vibe. As a family of four we had an apartment that looked onto the canal. It was just right for us and would definitely stay again or recommend. Great location for fabulous restaurants and able to walk into the centre of Venice quite easily. Bar was fairly priced and staff were great with all of us.

The breakfast was slightly unusual and felt that the portions available didn’t really last long, so had to wait for them to be replaced quite often. Found it difficult to find at first.

Very cool property with excellent facilities. Beautiful neighbourhood with lovely wine bars and everything around. Our set up was a twin room which was two separate beds which gave the vibe of long term student accomodation. Lots of storage, good view of canals.

There was a loud event on during our stay. Kids in early 20s yelling and house music playing till 11:30 but they didn’t settle and quiet down till 12:30-1am ish (on a Thursday night). Not sure if these are regular or was just a once off. Music was good though at least (for us mid 20 year olds).

The courtyard with bars for drinks and food is a lovely place to sit and plan the day and relax after busy days. The building is very interesting and has its history explained in the rooms. They had events like an art talk and a clothing market in the communal spaces. The location near Fondamente Nove is perfect for getting around by vaporetti but also easy to walk to Biennale in Giardini and Arsenale. It's 10mins by boat to Murano. There are local food and grocery shops within 10mins walk and plenty of bars and restaurants. So we didn't eat at the Combo restaurant though it looked nice, we did have bacaro from the bar at the front which was a treat. The room had desks which we used for our stuff and stored the suitcases underneath. There were wardrobes in the kitchen which was odd but we got used to it. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a good range of hot and cold food. The coffee was not good but real coffee was available from the bar. We loved staying here and hope to do so again.

Minor points but we had to navigate the bridge with many steps with our suitcases to get to the hotel. This was fine but we hadn't expected this. The room had windows onto the fire escape where occasionally people would chat and smoke. We had a tiny glimpse of the sky. This didn't really matter as we were out all day but it would have been nice to have a view. Our blinds were drawn all the time so no one could look in.

It’s an amazing building full of history, in a not so crowded part of Venice. The apartment we had booked had a view of the canal and a kitchen. It was very spacious. The breakfast was good, the receptionist was super friendly, our dog was welcomed. We all agreed it was among the best places we ever stayed at.

It could get a bit noisy during the night because people were gathering in front of the hostel and boats were driving by, also there are no mosquito nets (but a few mosquitoes)… But we still enjoyed it and slept great!

Beautiful, historic building, with so much courtyard and corridor space - plenty of tables, chairs, sofas and cushions to relax out of the hot summer sun. Great buffet breakfast, although it got a little overcrowded around 0900. This hotel has its own cafe/bar, wine bar and restaurant, with very reasonable prices. Hotel guests even get a 10% discount.

Ease overcrowding in breakfast room by spreading out food and tables over a wider area. Need more 2 and 4-person tables, to replace some of the larger ones.

This hostel is exceptional. We booked 2 beds in a 6-bed-room but it turns out it is an apartment separated in 3 2-bed bedrooms, so we had a room all to ourselves. The apartment also had a living room and a kitchen with all new things, everything was well designed and minimal style. As you are inside an apartment with 3 rooms with 2 beds each, you share a bathroom of 2 showers and 2 toilets with 6 people, which was very good. You also get huge desks and chairs in your room, and a big closet. Toilets are provided free of charge.
