La Residenza Venice – A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the City We spent one charming night at La Residenza Venice, a beautiful and quietly tucked-away hotel, just a 5-minute walk from the Arsenale vaporetto stop. Set in a tranquil piazza, arriving felt like stepping into a castle. We rang the bell at the large double doors and ascended the historic staircase to the second floor, where we were warmly welcomed by the lovely receptionist. She graciously took the time to share wonderful recommendations—from hidden local restaurants to the best coffee spots—and even helped capture a few photos for us. Our room was bright, spacious, and very comfortable, adorned with elegant Venetian glass lighting and a large, light-filled bathroom with an excellent shower. The reception area felt like stepping into a refined salon from a bygone era—Persian carpets, antique furniture, and walls full of classic artwork. It was an atmospheric and peaceful place to stay, full of charm and character. We requested a hairdryer and steamer. The location of the hotel is perfect - in a lovely square which is quite quiet and yet not far from all the main sights (and the crowds). The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very helpful. Our rooms were spacious and we had two rooms next to each other as requested. It was hot during our stay and the air con was very effective. We would stay in this hotel again if we return to Venice someday and highly recommend it to others. A lovely hotel and good value for money.

The breakfast was simple. There could have been a wider choice but it was perfectly adequate. Otherwise there was nothing not to like! We had a great time and would stay there again! Highly recommended.

The staff were very helpful, especially when I had issues with my luggage being lost on arrival at the airport and once got got back at the hotel 36 hours later I could not access my case as the padlock key had not been returned. The lady on reception was extremely kind and contacted a colleague who came and managed to remove the padlock. Also my experience getting to Venice, and during, was governed by total inept problems caused by my airline so when I happened to mention to the lady on reception that this particular day was a 'mile stone' birthday for myself and I had come to Venice to have a few days away as my 3 sisters, brother and nephew had all died since my last 'milestone' birthday 5 years previously, and that the whole experience was so far removed to my expectations she brought me some biscuits and made me a pot of tea and brought to my room to wish me a happy birthday. Very thoughtful gesture during the horrific day I had encountered.

Nothing to add to this section. The hotel, location and amenities matched why I had picked this hotel.

Great location close to St Marks Sq and close to water taxi's as well. Situated in it's own small piazza, it has restaurants close by where you can either have a nice dinner or an aperol spritz as you watch people go by. Beautiful historical building that dates back to the 15th century. it felt like stepping back in time. This is no cookie cutter hotel! Staff was pleasant, but not extremely friendly. You will have to go up stairs to get to main floor. If you want to experience something truly different, stay here.

Would have liked to have at least a nice expresso included in the morning. Nespresso machines don't count as nice.

The building was absolutely beautiful and historic, in a great location close to the docks, and in a quaint square. Breakfast was delicious and varied. The owner was very helpful and accommodating, they had our room ready for us early and gave us a map/answered questions. The room's heater was great! We had two windows, one with a nice view.

Took us a minute to figure out how to get int the front doors. The buzzer is a button in the lion's mouth on the plaque. I think all hotel beds in Italy are hard and the pillows flat, but we were used to it, so no problem. :)

It was so central. 5 min walk from piazza san marco. 2 min walk to water bus stops. Very quaint on a quiet square. Very old fashioned but this is part of its charm. Spacious room great en-suite. Very clean. Continental Breakfast basic but perfectly adequate. Staff have excellent restaurant recommendations and were very helpful with getting us back to airport during public transport strike. Excellent value for Venice.

There were only 2 pillows-one each but I asked for 2 more and this was no problem.

The location of the hotel is great, it's about a 2min walk from the Arsenale stop and 5min from St. Mark's Square. It doesn't look like your ordinary hotel, it was an old Venetian home that has been converted into a hotel so it is full of character and tradition. Beautiful ceilings and paintings, the hotel room was a simple room but very clean and comfortable, the hotel faces onto a square which is very quiet at night. Reception is manned 24hrs a day and the staff are very nice and friendly. I had paid for breakfast but unfortunately didn't get time to have it but it looked lovely, they serve a continental breakfast.

All the channels on the TV in the room are in Italian, was unable to find English speaking programs or news channels.

The room was immaculate, the staff ever so nice, friendly & helpful, the location was perfect for us...about a 15 minute walk from St Mark's Basilica which made it quieter. It's on a nice square with restaurants and the waterfront/vaporetto 5 minutes. Beautiful historic palace and nicely modernized; even has a reasonably large shower!

Washclothes, but you never get those in Europe

Beautiful building of 14th century close to Piazza San Marco and Palaco Ducale. Sophisticated interior of the hotel allows to fully blend into the vibe of luxury and rich history of the city. Friendly and extremely attentive personnel, fresh croissants and good quality coffee for breakfast, very clean and cosy rooms. Prerfect location, rather quiet, considering closeness to the city center.

The room was clean and efficient, the bathroom was also very convenient. The main living dining area was magnificent, and represented the historic city. The location was the best, 5 minutes from the water taxi, so dragging the suitcases across the cobbled streets was far less intimating than I thought.

The entrance was walking up a flight upstairs and fortunately the staff greeted me and helped me up the first night, if not it could be daunting.
