It's a great location near the beach and the staff there are lovely. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. TV and WiFi work well, and the air con is good for keeping cool. It's outdated and the shower is quite small but for what you pay, compared to the ridiculous prices of some other places, it was perfect for the few days we needed it for. It's about 25 minutes from the free beach and you're close to a park and the shops along the front. The train station is a 20 minute walk too, with links to places like Lucca and Pisa.

When our room got cleaned, the windows were opened which was a lovely gesture but we were on the ground floor so it felt potentially a bit unsafe when we were out for the day and leaving our stuff in our room, and it also meant mosquitoes got in so we got bitten when we got back. We understand it was done as a positive thought though so not necessarily complaining, just as a point to consider!

It was a perfect location for a quick stay at the beach, very close to all restaurants and the beach in 2min walking distance. The host was very nice and helpful made my stay very comfortable. The room was super spacious with high ceilings. I was lucky to find a room this last min and was pleased with everything it had. Especially in high season were everything is overpriced.

A really lovely, authentic, family run hotel only a two minute walk from the beach. I received a very warm welcome at check in and the hotelier even carried my rather heavy suitcase up the stairs to my room. He was incredibly helpful during my stay, organised a taxi for me at the end and also helped my friend (who was staying at other accommodation ) when she locked herself out of her room. On check out day he allowed my friend to leave her bag there with mine during the day (her accommodation didn’t offer that service) and even offered her a coffee and breakfast! I was blown away by his kindness and hospitality. Although my single room was small, it was absolutely perfect for my needs, and was spotlessly clean! It was very useful having a big wardrobe to hang things, a safe and also big shelves along the side of the wall to put my things. My bathroom was private and just across the corridor but it was great that the bedroom had a basin inside. The breakfast was excellent - great selection of continental goodies including fruit and Italian cake. The croissants impressed me - very fresh and perfectly baked. the cherry on top was the lovely barista who expertly made me a double espresso macchiato each morning!

The decor is quite dated and my room didn’t have airconditioning, although the fan worked perfectly so the temperature in the room was comfortable.

Really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Ely. Less than 5 minutes to fab' beach & Viareggio promenade. Many thanks to all the staff for a great holiday😎

Nothing could have been better, the hotel is a little dated but everything worked ok.
