We had two adjacent rooms with a door in between, which was lovely. The breakfast had a good spread with live counters for various egg varieties. The location is great; the pool is large and clean, with a separate kids' pool featuring slides. Copacabana Beach is just a 5-minute walk down the poolside. The Beach is lovely, more like a secluded beach for all the Valamar hotels in the Babin Kuk area. Not very crowded, and there are also some water sports activities available. Beautiful views from the pool and the beach. Bus no. 6, from a nearby bus stop, runs every 10 minutes and takes you to the Old Town (Pile) in 10 minutes. This service runs until 1:00 am, a good way to enjoy the Dubrovnik nightlife.

Their dinner time closes at 9:00 PM. I think considering the summer rush and busy Dubrovnik nightlife, they should have stretched it until 10 PM at least in the peak season. The pool towels are not free; they charge 2 euros for rent, and the towels were all old and worn out.

The food was tasty, the hotel was very clean but the best part was personnel 😍 l guess you cannot be carrying a smile on your face constantly unless you are treated and paid nicely by the administration ☺️ Thanks a lot for this great holiday 🌸

The sunbeds at the beach which were just below the hotel were not free. Two sunbeds and 1 umbrella costed 45 euros, which l believe should be free for the hotel guests! The second area of improvement is about the food, l would like to see the ingredients of the meals just above them to avoid using my mobile phone at all times or asking the chef...

That the food was available until 1300 daily - great for growing teenage boys! The pool bar was nice and the general pool set up.

The room size for 3 adult female friends was very small - too small to be comfortable! The towels on sunbeds was bonkers. Towels on beds and people not even by the pool for hours on end. towels should be taken off if the beds are not in use.

It's great that one can have brunch included with Half board. maro world is amazing, well designed to cater to different age groups. The shower pressure was amazing and the water gets hot as well ( haven't experienced that in some other resorts) The staff were friendly and accommodating. There were other things to do as well but with a 3 year old our explorations were limited. Definitely great for families and will love to stay here again.

The dining hall can get crowded, and chaotic at times, especially the lines for the Chef's special. The staff do their best to take care of the rest.

Very nice location. Close to the Copacabana beach. 10 minutes by car to the city center. Friendly staff. Breakfast and Dinner was okay. Not super good quality but still good enough for few days. Very nice view from the balcony. This hotel is really good for families with kids.

They didn’t provide a water for dinner. We bought it. But this is not a big problem for me personally. Extra bed is really uncomfortable and really bad. This not even an extra bed. This sofa with no mattress.

The hotel is recently renovated and really nice. We enjoyed the meals, the view, the location and the pool area. The staff is friendly and trying their best so you’d enjoy your stay.

Attention everyone: The photos of the facilities that you see here are not real, it’s just 3d-visualisation renders. Our biggest disappointment was there is NO PLAY AREA FOR KIDS and 0 activities/entertainment program for them. If we knew that, we would choose another hotel or even another destination as we are a family with 2 small kids, so kids club was the main priority for us. In the description they say that the kids club will open in June 2023, but it’s a lie as our check out was on 20th of May 2023 and the building of the kids club is still under construction (basically concrete everywhere). We still think this hotel has a great potential once the kids club is open otherwise we found it overpriced and not suitable for the families like us.

Lot of activities for kids, pool, trampoline, and there is also separate indoor play and gaming area with lot of shows for kids. Kids will never get bored in this facility. Sleep is not comfy, to old mattress and pillows. Most of food options are freshly cooked/baked on spot which of course tastes good but rest of the options are just okay.

if you are offering dinner and you need to buy expansive drinking water. At least drinking water should be free and rest you can buy to your needs.

De friendliness of employees- they accomodated all our wishes, even upgraded our rooms for free. We were traveling with a 2 year old, so the hotel arranged for us 2 rooms next to each other connected with a door when we asked to stay close to our parents. It was end of the season, but everything was great all facilities working. Top was indeed the MARO playground 2 min walking distance- so much fun for all generations 😂. Also, I had gluten and dairy free diet and when it was difficult for me to find something I liked in the buffet, they made me an extra dish. Thank you!

Some parts of the hotel are not renovated yet and are indeed looking bit older and thus also need maintenance (f.e. bathrooms next to the pool).

We stayed at Sunny Valamar for four nights as part of our summer holiday across Croatia. The hotel was a good choice if you are a family on a bit of a budget. The rooms were clean and comfortable (as a family of five, we had two interconnecting rooms) and were clean and tidy, if a little basic. The food was good (the breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was good, if a little repetitive) The pool area was fantastic and there was often plenty of space to find loungers . The extended facilities were good with a lovely bar area at a sister hotel about three minutes walk away. Maro World is an excellent resource and very welcome when you want to get children out of the Croatian heat for an hour or so. Staff were excellent and we were greeted warmly on ever occasion.

As mentioned by some of the other reviewers, there was nowhere to get water from after 1pm which was a bit annoying in 35 degree heat. We spent a lot of money on bottled water! Drinks at the hotel were a little pricey.

Parking provided, safe, 8 euros per day. The reception staff is extremely friendly and professional. In the reservation, we asked for a quiet room, which we got. The room had a view of the garden and a partial view of the sea. Extremely clean, daily service with towels changed every or every other day. The double room was not big, but enough space for a comfortable stay. The terrace is excellent. The food is excellent. For breakfast - a standard menu, with the addition of local specialties (prosciutto, sausage, bacon). Various fruits. Various pastries, very tasty and fresh. For brunch, always a cooked dish and breakfast dishes. Always fish, pasta, Vienna pork or chicken schnitzel, roast beef..... Boiled vegetables and potatoes prepared in different ways. There could be a bigger selection of sweets. For dinner, there is a fish corner in a special place. Several types of sea fish and sea specialties. There are always two types of meat. More types of cooked dishes. Every second or third day, kebabs and patties made of different meats. I'm a big fan of the pork place and was very pleased to have that meat on the menu. Chicken or turkey, too. There was no lamb or veal. Several types of pudding and rice pudding. Cake could be a bigger choice. A large selection of fruits. Water is provided and free of charge during all meals. To summarize, the food is very tasty and varied for a 3-star hotel. I was impressed by the staff at the restaurant. The waiters are very hardworking and friendly. We have established a very pleasant relationship with conversation in the native language. The chefs very kindly answered my questions about the ways to prepare food.The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere. A special quality of the hotel is the large swimming pool, which is architecturally excellent. A very elegant and comfortable entrance from several sides. I highly recommend the hotel to all ages. It deserves a higher rating than 3 stars.

The disadvantage of the room is that it does not have a fridge and a kettle. My suggestions would be that the large yard can be used better, for example, sunbeds can be placed on the grass, under the olive trees. I suggest suitable soft music during brunch or dinner. I suggest that the billiard table in the lobby-restaurant be moved or limit the playing time, because it makes a lot of noise and disturbs the guests whose rooms are nearby.
