Really enjoyed our stay in the hotel; staff were really friendly and helpful. Range of food for breakfast and dinner was decent also - some items were better than others but overall great. Staff also gave us a complimentary hot spring booking for our trip, which we really appreciated. Onsen was also really nice. Hotel has a table tennis room, karaoke room, indoor and outdoor onsen, and a comic book library/room. Complimentary mini bar at the lobby also had a good range of items!

Facilities are a little bit old, but still well maintained. Also, very limited timings available for their hotel shuttle from the train station, which did limit and restrict our plans a little.

A cost efficient way of staying at a Japanese style tatami accommodation. There were a lot of small touches such as complimentary japanese snacks and candy on arrival, free coffee, a manga club onsite (new), private bath that we opted in and booked before arrival (3000yen), cosy room with futon beds and lovely view of Lake Kawaguchi. Yukatas and slippers were provided. There was a free shuttle van that picked us up from Kawaguchiko station (from 3pm to 5pm - you go to the tourist centre from the station and tell them to call hotel directly). It was a 5 to 6 min drive. Convenient if you have lots of bags. Then in morning, 8am to 10am, you can go to station via the van (reservations are required due to limited seats). The hotel is a bit dated but its the style of it. Private bath on L3 (reservations required) was hot and relaxing! We also used the table tennis area and killed time there along with borrowing manga from the manga club. Souvenir shop near reception and with a vending machine plus free amenities. Coin laundry next to public bath on L1. There was a kids zone area too and karaoke (reservations required). Breakfast and dinner with a variety of western and japanese options and free unlimited local sake, beer and soft drinks etc and dessert. There are last entries for both meals so keep note. Stayed for 2 nights and same buffet food but they gave us special service like steak and salmon salad as a bonus.

Although dinner has changed to buffet style from kaiseki, it was still relatively fine for us but did want a kaiseki style. Understand that it is a more efficient business model for the hotel.

Check-in was very easy. The onsen was very approachable and nice. The view of the lake was great. The room was what I expected and the dinner and breakfast were both good. The manga library was a fun inclusion. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The shuttle only runs from 1500-1900, it would be nice for it to start a bit earlier.

The room was nice and comfortable with a view of the lake just across the street. There were indoor and open air baths to choose from, and also a private bath for reservation at a reasonable price. There was good variety for the dinner provided. Bus stop was also just across the street for easy access to nearby places of interest. Easy to get to kawaguchiko station.

We got a corner room that had an extra window. It was a Japanese paper window which was beautiful, but not able to block out the light so the room got too bright too early (before 6am). Not a big problem but let the hotel know if this may not be suitable for you.

There is a library of comic books beside the lobby, where we can access it using our room card. Magical and marvelous for comic books lover! I bet you need at least half a year to read all the books! the library is accessible until 10pm and we are allowed (need to request at the reception) to bring back some comic books to our room to continue the reading. The onsen is fantastic and the view is breathtaking. You can walk along the lake where there is a walkway opposite to the ryokan. My mom loves this place the most. Just amazing. I am delighted that I choose to stay here.

The hotel, staff room and onsen were amazing. No fault. Perfect. Looked over the lake, beautiful view.

Vegetarian food, was almost none. Breakfast and dinner same both nights, only scrambled egg. and salad. Need some dedicated vegetarian protein, Maybe provide tofu anything with no pork, meat fish or dashi. One more dish to make would make vegetarians be able to eat. I was hungry. Shuttle stops at 10.10. They very kindly took us to the staton at 12 lunchtime as no taxis either. A few ore shuttles maybe.

The views over the lake are stunning and the hotel is ideally situated for access to activities around that area. Given its location there isn’t really a view of Mount Fuji if that is what you are after, but you don’t have to walk very far to see it, the lake view is just as magical. Food was plentiful and excellent quality, especially the evening meal and help yourself bar. Has a family feel to it and the staff are very obliging. The free shuttle bus service is helpful, but the last morning run is at 10:10 am

The only major downside to this hotel is the 10am checkout. Every other hotel I’ve stayed in during my trip in Japan has been 11am (or 2pm for the JAL city hotels if you become a member for free), yet here it was 10am. It was a bit of an inconvenience really and made it a long day before I got to my next hotel back in Tokyo. I’m not sure I would book a Japanese style room again, I’m getting too old to sleep on the floor.

The check in process easy and welcoming. They gave us lolly bags to fill up as many treats from the selection of Japanese treats to try. Collect all you need (Yukata, bathroom supplies- toothpaste, hair brush etc) to take to your room. Small gift shop. The huge MANGA LIBRARY is next level amazing. My boys were thrilled with this. We didn't use the inhouse onsen. Room very spacious- traditional ryokan. Toilet separate from bathroom. Kids happy with futon on the floor. We had single beds that fold into the wall. Dinner buffet in house was fantastic. Superb choice of Japanese cuisine. Kids loved the automatic pancake machine and ate endless sashimi. They have all you can drink soda, wine, sake and premix. Great seeing people in their slippers and yukata at dinner. Breakfast both traditional and western offereings too. Easy access to walk the lake and to town. The Ropeway (cableway) is a short walk and we were blessed with perfect views of Mt Fuji from the observation top.

Single beds were a bit squeaky noisy when you rolled over on it, but comfy enough.

A lovely hotel that I would love to visit again! The top highlight of this hotel for me was the free manga cafe. It was such an amazingly curated space with lots of cozy areas to read or draw. Huge windows made the whole room very bright with a lovely view of the lake as well. The selection of manga, magazines, and art books itself was also very impressive, with lots of titles in English too! I wanted to stay another day just to hang out in the manga cafe longer. Highly recommended if you enjoy manga. The room was comfortable with a beautiful view of the lake. There was a dining table style kotatsu set up next to the window which made for a cozy viewing experience, especially since it happened to be quite cold the weekend I visited. I had a room with futons, but the pad was very thick and very comfortable. The onsen selection featured three different baths including the outdoor garden bath, the outdoor lake view bath, and the indoor bath. There is also a private bath, but it was closed for renovation during my visit. Despite that, no one happened to be using the onsen at the same time as me during my stay, so it almost felt like a private bath anyway. The meals featured many different food selections and were quite tasty. I liked trying the local sake and wines as well, which were also all you can drink (always a plus in my book). There were also free snacks and beverages right from check in, so we were able to get something in our stomachs after the long bus ride from Tokyo while waiting for dinner. There was also free karaoke which was super fun as well. We only stayed one night, but we arrived right at 3pm to check in and then pretty much enjoyed the facilities the whole day until check out the next morning. Unfortunately Fuji was completely covered in clouds the days we were in town, but despite that we still had an amazing weekend relaxing in this hotel! If we find ourselves coming back to try to see Fuji again, we'll definitely stay here again.

The building is a little older, but it's very well maintained. No complaints!

Liked the location, great views of the lake, and relatively quiet, but still close to everything. Great service and communication with the staff, lots of interesting free snacks during the day. Public bath facilities are excellent (apart from rest areas). Manga library space was awesome.

Food (breakfast / dinner) was pretty average, worth the money you pay, I guess, but below the Japanese standards. Sake and grape juice were good. Hotel condition is a bit dated, but the room itself was nice (for those who are not used to sleeping on futons, it might not be very comfortable for your back). Private onsen did not work when we were there, unfortunately, which was a shame.
