The staff was helpful and friendly, and the hotel is close to the main train station - just a 15 minute walk. Wifi was good, and the bed was very comfortable as well. The hotel is located in a quieter part of town, which I liked.
As with the other APA hotels I've stayed at, they bring new towels, etc every day and hang them on your door. It would be nice if they didn't bring new things unless you requested them. Maybe a sign you could put out that says "new towels today, please" without having to ask for the whole room to be cleaned. It just seems wasteful that each day a new bag of items appears that I don't need.

The hotel was very cold, and it was difficult to get the room warm even when rising the temperature since the hotel has an open roof concept, it looks pretty but it's inconvenient, specifically with how cold Fukuoka gets. The bed was way too hard. The good thing is that you can store your luggage under it, which is convenient. It was the most spacious room in the APA hotels I stayed, so that was pretty nice. But the beds in Kyoto are more comfortable. You get a bunch of options for lighting. Truly, what is saving them from a bad review are the nice ladies at the restaurant. They were very kind, welcoming, and sweet. They asked if I preferred my egg fried rather than raw for my Japanese meal, and everything was delicious! On my second day, one of the ladies brought me a glass with the remaining orange juice they had as they were cleaning. She noticed that's what I was drinking, and she won my heart with that. I'd stay again just to eat there. The staff in the lobby was also nice and lent me some tape. It's kinda far from the station. There is a pastry shop nearby and that one is actually super good, I bought a strawberry pastry there, if you stay in this hotel please go to the pastry shop! It's called Patisserie Fukushima.

It’s a spotless, modern and very comfortablehotel. The position is great – very close to Hakata Station. I know this sounds weird, but I really like the pillows in this hotel! Some hotels in Japan have very small and very soft pillows, but the bedding in this hotel is extremely comfortable, and the pillows are great. I keep coming back to this hotel because I always get a really good rest when I’m travelling. The staff are very helpful, and it has a microwave oven you can access, and a really good laundry and dryer. there is quite a good convenience store 30 seconds walk from the front door as well, which is really handy when you’ve been travelling all day and want something quick to eat. The staff bend over backwards to help you, and I always use it as the first place I stay when I visit Fukuoka. It’s really good. Very good value for money too.
I didn’t have any issues at all. This whole hotel chain is really quite excellent.

Hotel is about 10/15 mins walking distance from Hakata station. Although not super close to the station, the position is nice as it's close to some attractions like canal city so it's a good balance. The room. Isn't big but consider this is the standard in Japan. It's however arranged very efficiently and there is pretty much everything an hotel offer. Check in uses a machine while check out simply require to drop the card Ina container, so very quick if you pre-paid your stay. Staff was very polite, as usual in Japan.

Location was a short walk to and from Hakata Station, which was very convenient. Entertainment on the TV was also nice that there were free movies on demand, rather than just live TV stations. Rooms were comfortable enough for a short stay. Restaurant attached was tasty but a bit pricier than I had anticipated for the food offered.
I had wanted to book a taxi but they said that guests had to book it themselves. However, not speaking enough Japanese to order one and also a lack of Japanese phone number, I did not end up booking anything. It would have been great for them to offer to help considering my circumstance, but I also understand that it's a policy they have to follow. A minor annoyance: every time I would come back into the room, the TV would automatically turn on and play a loop of videos that reset the volume of the TV so the music would be quite jarring. It got to be very annoying after a while, especially for quick trips in and out of the room.

Overall it was a pleasant experience. The little details that I didn't like, the staff made up for that with their politeness and helpfulness. - polite and helpful staff (they helped me find my lost credit card and DL) - location is great - quiet - very clean
- the room was a bit too small to be comfortable. I couldn't read a book or work on a laptop.

Modern building. Cleanliness. Compact room with all amenities.
The left side of the bed was a wall, so people probably tend to sleep on the right side, causing the left side higher than the right. The miso soup at the breakfast was mostly soup, with very little ingredients. Better stop letting customer self-serve. Need more variety of coffee at breakfast including cappuccino, latte and espresso. Coffee creamer is obsolete.

The location was exceptional since it allowed me to see sumo wrestlers practicing for the November tournament on the grounds of the Sumiyoshi Shrine which was right nearby. During my stay, there was a free giveaway of APA brand curry, That was a bonus.
I didn't realize at the time of booking that there were four APA Ekimae Hotels in Hakata, and accidentally went to a wrong one first.

Nice and comfy (but very small) room. All clean and pleasant.
The automated check-in is annoying. I am Gen X. I want a human connection. Since no-one can figure out the auto check-in anyway, someone always has to help anyway. One point deduction for the 10:00 a.m. checkout. I will fight this forever. It used to be 12.00. Then 11.00 Now 10.00. What’s next??

Though the rooms are quite small, they are perfect for just a place to stay and sleep. I travel alone, but for couples, this is the perfect place to just have a comfy night's sleep after spending all day exploring. Don't expect 5-star luxury, just a clean, comfy small room to sleep and shower. As long as you have the right expectation for the price this is great!
The rooms are small, but for Japan it is to be expected, not a downside to my stay, but good to keep in mind.
