- Good breakfast, there was a choice of four croissants with three small starter and a simple drinks bar. A bit of a shame that the three starters didn't change during my stay. - The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space under the bed. - The location in the city was ideal and especially nice in the evenings as it was very lively there with small food stands along the promenades. The subway station was also very close.

- The small air conditioner in the bed was very weak and it got a bit stuffy at night.

It only takes 2 minutes on foot to 中洲川端 station, and there is a 7-11 right next to the station. The bed is wider and more comfortable to sleep on compared to traditional dormitory bunk beds. The electric bed can even adjust its height, allowing you to raise it when you're not sleeping, making it more comfortable for reading or using your phone while leaning on it. You can even set the bed to elevate when the alarm clock goes off, so you won't have trouble waking up. For women interested in ReFa, you can try out ReFa's hairdryer and showerhead here. After scanning your room card at the entrance of the accommodation area, you don't need to bring your room card with you to use the restroom or take a shower, which is very convenient.

This was my second time staying here. Location is good if you want to stay nearby Canal City mall and the nightly food stalls. There’s free beer and lemon sours served for an hour every evening, which was quite nice. The private pod is nice and spacious with the ability for the bed to recline and enough space to store luggage underneath. Everything is operated by an iPhone next to the bed, which was fine but it can be a little tedious if you simply want to turn off the lights and need to do so through the app.

A creative answer to the capsule concept, and one I really enjoyed. The beds give flexibility to whether you want to sleep or sit up and chill, and the ambient set up for the room is controlled by the iPod on the wall. The beds were comfy, and the showers were clean, hot and with good water pressure. The luggage area was a little narrow for my backpack to go under the bed as others mentioned but I was able to fit it between the curtain and the bed end quite easily so this wasn’t an issue. Many people also just had their bags outside of their capsule during my stay and this was no issue. The working area on L2 was good with some tables having plugs for working, and also a pool table and free coffee/tea making facilities. Music is a little loud so making calls is tricky, but you can do this during the morning as the music was turned down. The breakfast is the real selling point, it’s like a fine dining three course meal. I got the Japanese style and didn’t regret it. It was fabulous so kudos to the chef & kitchen team. Hotel staff were also very friendly and helpful and kept my bags for me before and after my stay. It’s a good area too, with bars and restaurants in walking distance and easy access to buses and the subway

No, it provided all of my needs

Excellent location with subway train stop <1min away lots of shopping & restaurants, friendly nice staff, common area with lots of tables/chairs, free fast wifi, bar & restaurant, fresh towels, bag storage and quiet.

Watch out Fukuoka has accommodation tax payable to hotel. I have stayed in other pod/capsule hotels in Japan & you have been able to lock all your bags under the bed/the draw/locker but not possible here. Also the draw is super low so doesn’t fit standard suitcases which is annoying but they do offer to store your suitcase downstairs maybe I should have but don’t know what was more inconvenient. Pain when sheets/bedding come out they aren’t big/long enough to tuck in properly. No in between with light/dimmer. Could have been a little cleaner the room (found rubbish and photos of a previous stayer) & someone to do a quick clean check around bathrooms (again others Ive stayed do this).

These pods were so innovative, loved the design where you could create a bed for night and sofa for day. You can even set an 'alarm' where the bed automatically sits you up. Loved the dark ambience of the whole place. Breakfast was an absolute stand-out - ridiculously high quality and delicious with a choice between Japanese and western and a buffet of drinks to choose from. The bar and lounge are gorgeous and so well decorated.

The bathrooms could have been a little cleaner.

The capsule hostel that makes you feel you're a hotel guest. Super comfortable bed, the massive storage drawer is awesome (at least when you prepare for it's height limitations, pack cubes!) and the 'include breakfast' was absolutely worth booking. Convenient location and also the shower booths are good and have lots of (storage) space.

That smart pod not being so smart is more a gimmick and than a feature. Physical buttons to control the bed and the lights would be more efficient, perhaps with an app or website if you really want to use the smart alarm function. The power outlets are akwardly placed, a little foggy vibes in the hallways on 3rd and long waiting times at check-in if you're not in luck. The iPod is simply annoying at times.

The capsule room was fantastic. The bed uses an iphone to convert from a sofa to a lay down bed. There is an option for the alarm to raise your bed and the lights in the morning, but unfortunately it did not work for me. The attachments for connecting your device to the projector was also very easy to use. I was able to connect both my iPad and iPhone through the USB-C to HDMI hookup. The hotel (The Lively) is also incredible. A very nice vibe in the main lobby, with free beer for one hour every night. There were many people socializing throughout the bar and it had a great feeling. Very nice design. The staff was wonderful during check-in. One of the concierge staff had lived in Canada before so we had a nice talk during the check-in process.

The location can be a little tough to find if you didn't already know that The Millenials was a subsection of The Lively.

Was my first time staying at a ‘capsule’ hotel, and i was pleasantly surprised with how big the bed was. The shower and toilet stalls were clean and shower amenities were well provided for. I was expecting the sleeping area to be noisy but it was really quiet, ear plugs were also provided. Breakfast selection was interesting! I didnt check the menu before paying for breakfast, so I expected a buffet breakfast. But they offered 1 main meal from 4 options with a small variety of salads, fruits and other breakfasty foods.

As an introvert, i didnt like how noisy the lounge area was. People were talking and playing loudly with their friends, so i didnt have a space to make work calls or just to relax with some snacks if it got too loud (you cant eat in your capsule space, i suppose to keep the space clean, which is understandable). Then again i do understand having a common bustling area is the concept of the hotel so.. just not for me i guess. I just wish there was a quiet area for people like me to get away to😭.

For a capsule hotel it was a very nice stay! The shelf above the bed was super helpful for storing things. The lighting and moving bed feature controlled by the iPod was great. I found it quiet for the most part, although any noise from guests wasn’t any fault of the hotel of course! It was nice having the women’s area separate so felt comfortable. Showers and toilets very clean. Buffet downstairs for extra fee was great.

Little bit of struggle to fit your suitcase if it is large! I managed fine with a medium check in, just couldn’t store under the bed (only in front). Temperature can be adjusted, but found it was still quite warm.
