Within 100 metres of bus and train. Charming mountain outlook. Modern well equiped kitchen. Spacious bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Plenty of additional blankets if required. Two dining areas. Two modern toilets. We were able to access all Hakone attractions easily via bus and or train. We loved visiting the Picasso open air museum and Oshni park. Charming pathway just across the road from the station to enter property.

Was a cool rural area and a nice place

The booking doesn't require communication from staff its a self check in, although the communication was very good and clear some of the rules could be communicated a little less patronisingly, although I think that's due to previous guest causing trouble. Be aware in rural locations everything is cash only and the last buses finish really early, around 6.30pm. You could be stick with a very expensive taxi otherwise

This place is extremely comfortable. The staff were helpful and everything was arranged in advance. The amenities were well-documented. It is extremely peaceful. The surrounding nature is beautiful.

We didn't have a car so we had to rely on local buses, which come sporadically. It's very difficult to book a taxi here. It's better if you have a car, though we managed without one.

The host was amazing! Location was great. We accidentally mistook the dates and arrived a day early. The host was so mice, he came in 10 minutes with a cleaner and allowed us to check in and cleaned the place for us. We were only a couple, and we had the whole big house for ourselves. It’s so big and full of amenities, that we didn’t use much. We only used 1 toilet, 1 bedroom and bathroom. The washing machine had dryer so it was super convenient. The place is only a few steps to bus and train station. Locates in a quiet area, midway between volcano point and skywalk point. Super nice! 10/10

It was great to have a large private house all to ourselves. It was clean and pleasant, the kitchen was well equipped, and it's easy to get everywhere around the Hakone area by bus or train. For railway enthusiasts, you can easily walk to two of the railway switchbacks. There's a convenience store next to Ohiradai station (a 2-minute walk) and a few more stores at a 10-minute bus ride. The owner was available for questions and helped us operate the equipment.

There could be more basic things in the kitchen like oil and tea bags. There could be more detailed instructions for the equipment, like air conditioning and hot water, but the owner helped us figure out what we didn't know. Don't expect a view because Ohiradai village is in a valley, but it is surrounded by beautiful forests.

It wasn't too far from all of the attractions in the area. If anything, you can also access the train if you are confused by how the busses work. It was cheap and efficient. Recommended for people who are familiar with Japan's lifestyle. The apartment is pretty wide and there are two toilet rooms so you can almost never worry about having to wait for someone to finish with their business!

The location is in a quiet area, so making too much noise at night can be heard by your neighbors. They have thin walls and you might get unlucky and see a centipede! There is no reception or front desk, so if you're a tourist trying to go around Hakone, I would recommend going to a different Hotel where there are front desk staffs or have a Japanese friend in Hakone tour you around!

Plenty of space and comfortable, easily accessible with train and bus. Peaceful surroundings.

More equipment in the kitchen would have been nice such as knifes, but we still had enough to cook and had a very good time. One of the best places we had so far in Japan

I like the comfort and the space of the house. It is a traditional Japanese house, perfect for those who want to try a traditional home. I don't understand the bad reviews regarding the location ( you just need to follow the directions given). It is only 1 minute walk from the bus stop, very convenient.

A true traditional Japanese house, perfect for visiting Hakone. The bus stop is right in front of the property, making it very convenient for day trips. The house is spacious and well-equipped with washing machines and a functional kitchen. Highly recommended for an authentic and comfortable stay!

It’s large with lots of space, original in style in a great location. Close to the bus and train station. Good air conditioning too.
