The traditional ryokan rooms facing the river were super clean, spacious and lovely and comfortable to sleep in. Quiet (even with rushing river outside) and good bathrooms. Other than bending down being tall to save smacking head on things, it was great.

Front desk staff are utterly useless. They can't answer a simple question without speaking to 5 other people, which became very grating after a while. The lobby and hotel is VERY tired. I kind of thought it had a battered Severence-esque charm so I didn't mind, but it could be SO much better with a renovation. I couldn't use the public onsen due to my tattoos, so I went up the road to the brilliant Tenzan anyway, which was much nicer I'm sure. Dinner was beautifully served but the food was AWFUL. lukewarm, meh, tiny bit of overcooked fish. It's a nice vibe but could be alot better quality.

The breakfast was to die for, great Japanese experience! Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Staff was very attentive, they set up the futon bed for us at the time promised. We were welcomed with a small set of manjus and tea. As many hotels in Japan, they offered slippers but you also get a yukata (robe and all) to wear while in the hotel. The reception area offers free coffee/tea and some popsicles. The private onsen was great since some of us have tattoos and wanted to have all family members together.

It was somewhat removed from the main town area so not too convenient if you want to keep going back to the station area to eat or go shopping, and a final stretch to the hotel was a little steep to carry luggage with an elderly member of our family (we still made it!) - so probably not an issue for most travelers.

It is only 10 minutes away by foot to the hakone yumoto statin which connects to the Odawara station which is a JR station. The amenities in Hot Springs were wonderful and it felt so good. The breakfast was also awesome and had so many varieties of food and it was all so delicious. We love the traditional tatami mats and the futons. We had an overlook of the river in our room and it was so calming and relaxing. They also gave us free manjus everyday which was so delicious and touching. The staff were also kind and helpful. There was also free parking and you just have to let them know that you have a car and they will take your keys just in case they have to move it.

Breakfast times and at 9 which was a little bit early for us especially because we were so tired but it was okay.

This room was larger than other Hotel rooms we visited in Japan. Very clean with all the toiletries needed for several days. The buffet breakfast had items for every taste, also very clean and well organized. The lobby had nice comfortable seating with refreshments to enjoy while we waited for our 3:00pm check-in.

This was a perfect stay for us, nothing could have been better.

This is a great hotel. I had no expectations when I booked so was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It's quite modern and the staff are very welcoming. It was a reasonably easy check in process and we were in our rooms in no time. Our room overlooked the stream/river and we could open our balcony windows to listen to the wind in the trees and water running past. We booked dinner for one of the nights we were there - the food was really great and our wait staff were so discreet. A lot of the guests dined in so the restaurant was busy, which we took as a good sign. Breakfast was also a winner with lots of choices for most.

Bus service to the main train station was a bit sketchy. By the time it gets to this hotel, is jam packed so didn't even stop to collect us. Was OK though, the hotel arranged taxis for us and they were not too expensive.

Very clean and modan looking room. The bed was comfortable too. We used the private bath as well, and it was very relaxing. Breakfast buffet was very nice, many varieties both Japanese and western style Breakfast. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The shuttle bus was very small, and when we were leaving, we couldn't catch the shuttle bus to the train station. We asked if they could call a taxi. They tried, but they couldn't find one for us. So they suggested to walk to the station in a rain with our luggage.

The facilities and room amenities at this hotel are exactly as pictured and described. The rooms are designed in a traditional Japanese style and offer a true Japanese ryokan experience. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the tatami mats are very comfortable to lie on. The private onsen feels great, enjoying the view of the river and woods out the window, accompanied by the sound of birds chirping and an overwhelming feeling of relaxation. The public onsen on the fifth floor is also excellent, with complimentary use of massage chairs to provide total soothing for the experience. Breakfast was buffet style with Japanese and Western options, and while the flavors weren't as outstanding as expected, it was still good overall.

The hotel's location was a bit far from the train station, approximately a 15-minute walk. Carrying heavy luggage made the journey inconvenient, especially with narrow streets and uphill roads. When checking out, we decided to use the shuttle service for 100 yen, which began around 9 AM. However, as the shuttle was public, we had to wait for the second round to get on the bus, causing some delays. After 7pm, it becomes challenging to find food in this town as the nearby stores have closed, leaving only convenience stores as an option.

The tatami floor and spacious room with futon was great for three of us sharing. Big windows and the sound of the river was perfect for relaxing. We enjoyed having the onsen and the robes. Great place to stay and an easy walk to the centre.

The room was beautiful and very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The view of the river and mountains was nice to look at from our window. The kaiseki dinner was fantastic with very fresh ingredients. We tried all of the public onsens on the 5th floor and were very satisfied with all of them, especially the outdoor rock one with the cool morning air.
