Loved our stay here! It had everything we needed and more: • Large room with 2 comfortable double beds • Projector, with Netflix, Prime etc. (note you’ll have to sign in if you have an account) • Kitchenette • washing machine/dryer • Dining room • Balcony with foot spa • And the best bits, Sauna and Private indoor onsen bath in the room (with Mountain View - not Mt Fuji but it was still nice being surrounded by greenery after our city trips) They even provided us with some snacks and drinks in the fridge which was a lovely touch! We got the J bus from Odawara (I think it said approx 30 mins but with traffic took a bit longer!) The bus stop pretty much stops 100m from the hotel. There’s a bus stop across the road that takes you back towards Hakone/Odawara. There’s Kowakudani Station 5 mins walk from the hotel (which will take you to Hakone and Odawara too) We recommend going to Hakone Picnic, Taiwanese restaurant for food. The food and service was great, and it had incredible views of the mountain, again 5 mins walk from the hotel. A little further up the hill maybe another 5 mins is a 7 eleven. Despite not having a reception, check in was fairly straightforward (this can be done in your room) and queries were quickly answered and resolved through a FaceTime call (using their iPad). Note: details for access and your room is provided prior to your stay via email/booking.com messages. I’d definitely stay in a Rakuten hotel again!

Nothing really. It’s a bit more remote so nothing much around you if you wanted a night life of some sort but you can walk or get the bus/train to Gora if you needed to. I think the idea is that it’s a place you can unwind in and you should have everything you need.

The apartments seems brand new, are really well equipped and has a lovely setup with the onsen and foot bath on the terrace. It is spacious, and really met our expectations. We wish that the double beds did have two blankets though, instead of a large shared blanket. Altogether we had a really good and comfortable stay at this apartment, and it worked well as a base for us in Hakone. We did bring rental cars though.

We were a group of multiple families, renting multiple apartments, and the check in process created a lot of frustrations for several apartments in our group. Although we could probably have shown up better prepared for the process, the reception is unmanned, and we spent a lot of time to get access to the apartments and provide the required information. The artificial waterfall in the background, albeit good looking, creates a huge amount of noise making it very hard to communicate with the remote staff. Even though the apartments in general was very nice and comfortable to stay in this process was so stressful that it made parts of our group wanting to give one or zero stars for the stay, so this is something to be aware and prepared for as a visitor.

Great apartment, very well equipped, including a lot of tech. Wonderful private onsen in the room and food bath on the balcony. Good communication and easy check in on the tablet in the room. Also loved the complimentary drinks and snacks in the fridge in arrival. Very clean and everything you need if you are cooking for yourself.

Train station and bus stop near by, but a car would be a definite advantage to make the most of the Hakone area, but still very accessible by public transport. The low temperature sauna was fun, but would leave a seasoned suna fan a little underwhelmed. Personally would have preferred a cold tub, in its place.

The room slept 6 and there were ample space for all of us. We loved the private onsen, the balcony with Mountain View and the telescope was a nice touch too. There were welcome snacks and drinks provided which was really nice as most of the shops around there close early.

Although the room was spacious, there wasn’t a lot of privacy when all 6 of us shared a bedroom, but everything else was so lovely that we could definitely over look it.

The room amenities were incredible. We loved the private onsen and sauna. The view was great. Our massages at the spa were fantastic.

Getting to the hotel from the train station is a little precarious. The website says it's a short walk but there aren't really any sidewalks on part of the road so walking luggage to the hotel felt a little dangerous with cars zooming around the curve in the road.

Huge apartment, classy, comfortable. Private onsen was amazing.

Noisy neighbors upstairs that stomped around til midnight. Floors could have used a mopping. No staff on sight, iPad crashed trying to check in- had to call customer service. Location was a little difficult getting from train or bus station- ended up taking a taxi.

Private Onsen, spacious apartment, lots of amenities, including a telescope. All very good but the private onsen is the strong point in this accommodation. They also leave you some drinks and snacks, nice.

OK, the online check-in process was a bit complicated, but thanks to previous reviews, we were prepared. It didn't take away any points for me.

The apartment was extremely comfortable and nice to stay in. We had a bad weather day in hakone but were pleased to spend most of the day at the apartment making use of all the facilities. The private onsen was 10/10

No staff which made it difficult to leave luggage and also have to be wary of remembering the code

Our room was absolutely comfortable and we looked forward to coming “home” everyday to unwind after exploring. The property is unmanned and not close to anything. Plan to bring your own food. While it is quite a ways from things, transportation was easy via train and bus.

Very Modern, clean and in good shape. Definitely Recommended due to the facilities

There is virtually no service , it’s not clear how to reach out to the hotel staff. If you have a car location is good, if not expect some walking but nothing too serious
