Although the hotel is dated, it's well maintained by the lovely owners - an elderly couple. Location is great, particularly great for early morning and evening walks to enjoy the view of Itsukushima Shrine and surroundings before the town awakes. Private Family room bath available to soak away the tiredness of exploring the island. Food options aplenty nearby and Miyajima Coffee is a 2 mins stroll to kick off the morning. Good to note that guest are requested to leave their room key at reception when leaving their room to explore for the day andowners appreciate if guest can return by 10pm for the night.

The two owners were some of the loveliest people we have ever met, super smiley and helpful! Beautiful traditional Japanese room with a lovely lounge area to relax in downstairs. The staff recommended a restaurant a 1-minute walk away, which was the best place that we ate at during our whole time in Japan!

Bathroom smelled a little bit stale, maybe due to the age of the building and the wifi was very weak (we were staying on the top floor). The wifi worked down in the lounge but not in our room.

We had a wonderful stay in the hotel.the staff were super friendly and kind. They put a Smile on our face every time we encountered them. The location was amazing and helped us enjoy the magnificent island the most. The room was perfectly clean and comfortable. The Japanese style room is as featured on the website. The public bath which we could use as a couple was a nice experience. The price is quite fair compared to other places on the island and surprised us by the quality of the place. It is absolutely recommended.

Very authentic Ryokan. I was only there for one night, but it had everything I needed. The staff, an elderly married couple, was SO nice, smiling and helpful. Spoke fine english. If I go back to Miyajima, I'll stay here again for sure.

My room was a little cold, but I visited the Island in december, so I think that can be expected in a building like this.

We feel lucky we found an affordable hotel in Miyajima. We were right by the center so we could stop by any time. The hosts were very friendly and we felt welcomed. The room was very comfortable, with plenty of space. The bathroom was quite small but clean, so this was not a problem for us. They offered recommendations for nearby restaurants and provided a guide of the island which was very helpful.

The innkeepers were so delightful and gracious, even though we arrived late due to delays in our schedule. We felt right at home, it was so cozy, and our only regret was being unable to stay longer. When we return, we will definitely be staying here again.

Central location to Miyajima‘s attractions, large room, very friendly owners, free coffee and water available

Entire hotel (equipment and facilities) very dated (70s) although clean, neither breakfast nor dinner available in the hotel (most restaurants in Miyajima close at 5 pm).

It was a very good location and very close to the food market. The staff were very lovely and very helpful :) The room was also a very cozy, traditional Japanese style that we enjoyed.

It was a little cold in the room even with the heater, but we found if we closed all the doors it warmed up.

Very centrally located - just a block away (parallel to) from the Main Street. Traditional, tatami mat rooms. Large room, small bathroom. Two private family onsen soaking tubs. Older couple own/running the business. Very kind and informative.

The staff was amazing and super friendly! They knew english well and were very accommodating! It was a wonderful experience and I will be coming back in the future!
