This place is a must stay if you are spending the night in the magical Miyajima Island. It's a traditional japanese inn with everything you need and more, it's a short walk from the ferry station and far from the crowds, but the hotel also provides a shuttle bus for guests that is super covenient. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a very peaceful view of the sea and the cute deers, and with futon beds that were really comfortable. The food was really good, both dinner and breakfast. I highly recommend to get these meals, not only for the whole experience but also for the convenience since the places in the city closes very early. The hotel also have an onsen, for women and men, ping pong table, hammock and a souvenir shop. Also I cannot forget to mention about the amazing and kind staff, from the reception to the drivers that took us to the city thank you so much for everything. We wished we have stayed one more day to enjoy more this place.
Nothing, everything was just perfect.

The courtesy and service by the staff is outstanding. From the moment we arrived at Miyajima to the moment we left, the warm service is very personable. One of the staff came to meet us at the pier to collect our bags so we can sight see hands free. They then collected us from the pier when we were tired and ready to check in. The views from the room was spectacular - lovely sea views with mountains, islands, and deer roaming around in the garden. The food served at dinner and breakfast were plentiful and delicious. The futon and doona was comfortable. The aircon kept the room comfortable. The public bath was also really great to sooth sore muscles. They also dropped off our bags at the pier so that we can sight see hands free before leaving the island. It was our first experience of a ryokan style accomodation and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
There was nothing that we did not like. Worth knowing that it is an older style hotel which we thought was really charming and really added to the whole experience.

I stayed here one night on my final night before leaving Japan after a month of traveling. This was the perfect place to spend that final night. The staff were so incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a traditional Japanese inn (ryokan) and serves a Kaiseki dinner to you in your room. You sleep on a futon on the tatami floor. There is a nice public bath (onsen/sento) available. The photos on here are accurate. You have a beautiful sea view out your window. It is truly a magical experience. There are deer walking around outside as you eat breakfast. It’s just so serene and peaceful. Everyone should experience something like this on their trip to Japan. Quit reading. Book it!

Very peaceful. The staff was really accommodating and brought me my dinner to my room.
We had to remove our shoes and put on the slippers they provided before approaching the front desk to register. I really don’t like wearing shoes others have worn before…so it was not very comfortable for me but good thing I had socks on. The building is old and yet the tatami mats looked new. I think I’m a bit too old to be sleeping on a futon on the floor and eating while sitting on the floor. Also, I saw a centipede in my room just before I left in the morning. I’m glad I didn’t see it before I went to sleep! Also, the view I had was of the dock…not a very peaceful looking view.

This accommodation was a dream. We had stunning views of the ocean with wild deers running outside. All staff were so polite and accommodating. Our stay included a traditional dinner and breakfast. The traditional dinner was served in our rooms on chabudai tables and cooked by candle in front of us. The dinner was a multi-course meal of traditional Japanese foods local to the area. The breakfast was a combination of traditional and Japanese foods. The beds were comfortable despite being low to the floor. I couldn't recommend this experience enough. A highlight of our Japan trip!
It was around 1.5km from the ferry terminal and main city area; however, they had a free shuttle bus that ran about every 15 minutes till 6 pm. No other shops near the accommodation so had to get any food/ drinks on sight.

Oh my god this place is stuck in the last century in a good way. Furniture is dated, staff is not too young either. But it's a lovely charming time capsule with so much to enjoy. They don't only offer a free shuttle when you arrive and leave, but also when you want to see the floating torii lit up during the evening. Sea view from the room is something I wish I had more days to enjoy. Room service drinks are a great way to ease into the slower pace of the place. A quick dip in the onsen and they're already bringing the food to your room, setting up the table, carefully explaining each dish. And there's more and more fresh seasonal dishes coming. After that, if you choose to enjoy the night views, your bed is made, you just have to slide in, or take another dip. In the summer it could be even nicer, but I want to experience this place in all seasons. There's deer running below your window all the time. It's just crazy.
Maybe the dated equipment? The noisy fridge which says "unplug if too loud"? The 20 inch TV? These are not even things I didn't like, I found them cute. Don't change anything please. OK, maybe a fridge upgrade.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel, from before check-in where my questions via the app were answered promptly and fully, all the way through to the moment we left. The hotel is a lovely experience in a traditional Ryokan. I loved every bit of my time here and found nothing difficult to read or understand with the small exception of having to translate the buttons on the bidet! Before we arrived, the hotel took our luggage straight from the ferry port which allowed us to freely explore Miyajima. When we arrived later at the hotel we were greeted by name, and with a welcome snack, then enjoyed some down-time watching the sunset over the sea! At seven we enjoyed our Kaiseki dinner in our room, then our futons were made up for us afterward - they're surprisingly comfortable, but folks over or around 6ft be sure to bring warm socks, your feet might stick out from under the duvet. The Onsen is fully indoor and separated by gender - tattoos are allowed! The baths can't be reserved privately. Laundry facilities are available here is ¥300 for a wash and ¥100/30min for drying if I remember correctly so do bring coins. There's also vending machines around the hotel and a shop with gifts and snacks. The toilet is separated from the sink and shower room at this hotel. There's a water heater, a tea set, and a large mini fridge in the room. There's also a small television but you likely won't need it with the view! The staff is amazing and ever-present, they're always willing to help! Every interaction we had with them was a pleasurable one.

The Miyajima Seaside was like going to visit family. The staff knew your name They were so helpful and kind, just delightful The hotel was "old fashioned" - Japanese style. We left our shoes in the lobby in lockers We'd done that before But, It was the only hotel where they made our beds -placing the futons on the tatami mats every evening And then putting them away during the day I liked this very Japanese experience - The room was large and very comfortable, with European-style chairs and a side table, as well as a large table (Japanese style) where we ate dinner We had huge windows and a gorgeous view of the water. Breakfast was in a dining hall but we had dinner in our room. The first night our evening meal was not great - but the meals got better, more interesting and varied Daily they gave us some terrific locally made cookies The public baths were fine Not as elegant as others, but that didn't matter. But they were large and clean and they had everything one needs We enjoyed everything at Miyajima Seaside Hotel and would highly recommend

Very calm relaxing atmosphere, attentive helpful staff. Exceptional view great to relax and watch the dusk and lights appear across the sea. Fishing boats leaving the harbour and bird life. Fantastic evening meal was served in our room so beautifuly presented and delicious. Later staff came to set out our futons for the night. After watching a glorious sunrise we had a feast for breakfast again amazing food beautifuly presented. Great onsen. Shuttle bus service to and from hotel.
Sleeping on futon was a bit uncomfortable for my old bones, but was all part of the experience.

Amazing Rokyan, we loved our experience so much. We travelled as a family and were treated so well. Service is fantastic what seems to be a family run hotel. Dinner was fantastic, served in our room and breakfast in the dining room. Kids meals available if you book ahead of time. Getting into town was no issue as you just go the information booth and get them to call the hotel to pick you up. My daughter had a swim in the beach out the front, which was lovely. Deer everywhere. Beds on the floor were comfortable. Loved it. Book it :)
Yes it's alittle dated but its part of its charm.
