This is an authentic ryokan style hotel, and the staff were very attentive and helpful during our stay. We stayed in a Japanese style bedroom, equipped with tatami mats and futons. The hotel is convenient for the ferry, and we could see the Torii gate and the bay from our bedroom window. We had the kaiseki evening meal in the banqueting hall, which was superb and to be recommended. We also enjoyed using the public baths and making use of the yukatas left in our room. Miyajima is quiet and serene after 5.30pm, so staying the night is a good option for those wanting to enjoy the location without crowds. Overall, it was a relaxing and unique stay.

The banqueting hall lacked charm and had no windows. Two of our party found the futons uncomfortable.

We loved this hotel as it was very close to the ferry terminal, was in a quiet back street and had great views. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we enjoyed using the onsen facilities. A very good option for a family of 5 staying in one room, which can often be difficult to find.

We really enjoyed our one night stay here, but as it was Golden Week, we paid quite a bit for our stay. The hotel decor is pretty dated but everything is clean and doesn’t feel drab.

The hotel was very well located within walking distance to ferry port and main sites on the island. The staff were lovely, hotel was quiet, clean and very welcoming. We had half board. The food was excellent but advise having only if you are happy to eat everything and like seafood as it is set menu with lots of fish. We enjoyed it and our children made a good attempt. The onsen was very clean and quiet. Room was Japanese style with futon. Very spacious and comfortable and we had a nice view of the sea. Everything exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful time.

The facilities and location were very good (at 5 mins walking from the Ferry terminal). It is a unique experience to be done at least once in your life when coming to Japan. The room was spacious, and clean.

Our room was at the 3rd floor and the view wasn’t as nice as I expected. We arrived around noon, left our luggages and came back around 6 pm. When we asked for breakfast for the next day, the girl at the front desk told us that there was no availability. That they were full. We ended up having breakfast in another hotel, after searching for almost 30 mins. Most of the restaurants were closed. If you come to Miyajima be aware that restaurants close very early (we stayed here during the Japanese Golden Week). And options are not that many, as most of the times, they are full.

This is a reasonably priced ryokan, with excellent service and very good breakfast and dinner. The rooms are much larger than the typical ryokan room, and we had plenty of space for four friends traveling together. The bath is OK, but not spectacular. The decor in the lobby and dining rooms is a bit chilly and overly ornate, but the hallways and rooms are lovely. The location is great for Miyajima sightseeing.

All in all, this is an very good ryokan for its price range and location, though the public spaces seem dated.

The hotel was amazing. Beautiful large room and some lovely yukatas for us to wear. Although I didn't get to fully enjoy the onsen (due to medical reasons) , my partner did and it was outstanding. I was kindly allowed to dip my feet in the waters and it felt great. The hotel staff were very kind and allowed us to store our luggage in the lobby after checkout so we could visit a shrine that we missed. They also had a shop at the hotel were you buy the yukatas from the hotel and over various items. As we had been traveling alot prior we also used the washing machine to clean our clothes which the staff showed us to use. The staff also spoke good English so if you don't know much japanese you will be okay.

This is the way to see Hiroshima and surrounds. The seafront area on the island is massively busy from 10 till 3. So wander there before and after and see the island in a way the other tourists don't. Get the launch directly to the peace park, travelling against the hordes. The hotel staff are a delight. The rooms are large, slightly careworn but comfortable and traditionally characterful. Be aware that almost everything shuts after the tourist exodus each day.

Very nice and elegant Ryokan in a wonderful location in Miyajima. Wonderful view of the village and the sea. Very nice traditional style bedroom with tatami. We used the spa and it was very good. Dinner was in Kaiseki style and was an interesting experience, with some good dishes. We were provided with traditional clothing during our stay.

Breakfast was traditional japanese, which is certainly one interesting thing to do here, but it definitely is not for everyone's taste.

A fabulous place to stay! Staff super helpful and lovely, room spacious and clean and a great location only few minutes walk from the ferry but they also offer complimentary pick up and drop off from the ferry - much appreciated with luggage and in the summer heat. The island itself has a lovely vibe and very different to the busy cities we also visited. Its particularly peaceful in the evenings after the day trippers leave. The ropeway then hike to the summit is a must do first thing in the morning to avoid the day tripping crowds and queues. The shopping/market arcade is pumping during the day and mostly shuts down come late afternoon. We left it too late to find a restaurant which seem to close fairly early so if we were to come back, we’d make a booking at the restaurant.

My kids and I loved the food and enjoyed the experience of staying at a ryokan. Location was good, very near the Itsukushima Shrine.

Food may not be to everyone's taste, although it certainly was to ours, especially if you are not an adventurous eater. Everyone sleeping in one tatami matted room with futon beds may not be to everyone's taste either although we did have a private bathroom. Don't book if you don't know what a ryokan involves!
