The hotel is above the town, so free from disturbances. Close enough to town to enjoy what Miyajima has to offer. Stayed half board - dinner and breakfast both fantastic. Breakfast - western and Japanese options available. Large room, with huge windows. Futon beds on the floor - very comfy and set up whilst having dinner. Stocked minibar - reasonable prices. Didn't use it, but free transfers from/to the ferry terminal are available. Indoor footwear available. Onsens available - check out onsen etiquette before you go!

Can't do anything about it, but it's up a hill! Otherwise, nothing to worry about.

The staff at Jukeiso went above and beyond to help us. We arrived on the island about 10 minutes before check-in stopped We’d never been so we figured we’d just call a taxi. That wasn’t going to happen. We called and they sent their driver to pick us up last minute. They took all of our luggage up, they helped us make a last minute reservation at one of the only open restaurants on the island and then hand drew directions to the restaurant on a map for us. They allowed us to make a last minute breakfast reservation and then they delivered our bags to the ferry station the next day. All that to say, we were clueless foreigners who weren’t really prepared for a night on Miyajima island, and they saved our asses. 10/10

The best thing about this hotel was the view. It can not be beat. We had a sweeping vista of the town, mountains, the pagoda and the tori gate. The room was very spacious, the food was amazing (if you like traditional Japanese fare), the staff was very helpful and their luggage delivery service can not be beat. We left our bags at the hotel after check out and explored the town, then we headed to the port and gave the hotel a call, less than 10 minutes later they drove our bags to us.

The facilities are a bit dated, specially the onsen. The outdoor bath was not very clean (I fault the other tourists for that one) but you could see hair and sunscreen oil floating on the water, which was a shame.

Nice traditional ryokan on a hillside overlooking the floating Torii and shrine. All the staff are helpful. Breakfast and dinner are beautifully presented. The public baths are not crowded and the private onsen one can reserve is outstanding with gorgeous views. Out driver who picked us up and drove us back ti the ferry terminal was great!!

Ryokan is a little distance from the ferry terminal. The ryokan does offer free pickups and drop-offs but we had to call upon arrival to arrange. when we called, we had a little difficulty communicating with the receptionist who speaks limited English. After some back and forth they put a gentleman on who was able to clearly convey the meeting point to meet our driver. Reserving the dropoff was easy!

The room was quite spacious and the tatami beds were fairly comfortable. The staff were very accomodating and explained things/services well. It was nice to have a shuttle service to and from the ferry station, as it made travel mcuh easier especially with luggage. The private onsen could've been a bit hotter in general, but that's up to personal preference. Plus, there were cold and hot outlets to change the water to your preference. Dinner and breakfast were quite good. All the ingredients were super fresh and tasty. They would provide a menu sometimes, but it would've been nice to always have the menu on hand (like a piece of paper) as sometimes we had to guess at what we were eating.

Divine Customer Service. Despite of the fact that we arrived so close to the pick-up deadline from the ferry terminal to the ryokan, they still sent someone over to pick us up. Everyone was so nice and treated so well despite the language barrier. Everyone was so well accomodating. They deliverered our belongings to our room. The sea view from the room was amazing! The hot springs was so heavenly! We felt like that we could live life without regrets. Except for fact that we wish that we would stay for more nights and get the meal courses. Our room was huge, has a great traditional theme, We are definitely going to come back to enjoy our next stay in Miyajima!

This property was absolutely stunning – we had a mountain view overlooking beautiful cherry blossom trees and could even watch the deer from our room. Relaxing in the private onsen was a great way to relax. The location was perfect, and the staff went above and beyond, offering to deliver our bags to the ferry terminal after check-out. A truly memorable and peaceful stay. We will be staying here again.

Not the hotel’s fault, but both pagodas were under scaffolding during our stay – our view still felt special, but it would have been even more spectacular without the construction.

Our room was so spacious and gorgeous! We got the mountain view room, but could still see the big Torii in the water from our huge picture window. The staff was friendly and retrieved our bags from the coin locker at the ferry terminal when we arrived, and delivered us our bags at the ferry terminal as we were leaving so we could stroll without our bags. The location was amazing and we walked to Daishoin Temple from our ryokan before dinner.

They have a outdoor rotenburo (hot bath) that you can reserve. Someone was smoking outside so it kind of ruined our private bath time as the smoke wafted into our bath.

Beautiful view of the shrine from our room on the 4th floor. Room was very spacious and we had western style mattresses, which was a bit more comfortable for us. We had dinner and breakfast included, which was great! For breakfast, there was a choice between Japanese or Western. There were no options for dinner, just Japanese but they catered for my partner’s dietary restrictions and the food was great. We also enjoyed the private onsen, which you can reserve for 30 mins. The staff picked us up from the ferry terminal and brought our luggage back down to us in the afternoon so we could spend the morning wandering around. Great service, would definitely stay again.

We had a Japanese room which was lovely and our view out over the cherry blossom trees was beautiful. We had Japanese dinner and breakfast and both meals were excellent; beautifully prepared and served and tasted delicious. The dining room has a beautiful view out over the shrine. We used the private onsen although there is also a public one. Jukeiso is located about 10 minutes walk from the famous shrine and 20 minutes walk from the ferry terminal. The last 2 minutes of the walk to the hotel is up a steep hill with steps. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
