The location was within walking distance of the ferry terminal. Miyajima is very lively during the day as it is full of tourists, but after six o’clock it is so quiet - restaurants are few and close early (we found one of the best restaurants we have eaten in on our trip to Japan) - we would walk the Main Street in the evening and only see the occasional person. The hotel is a Ryokan so we had to get used to sleeping on the floor on futons - nevertheless an interesting experience .

There were so many facilities included and conveniences such as vending machines on our floor and a shop next to reception. Our room was very large compared to most hotel rooms in Japan and had beautiful views looking over towards the water, we could even see the Itsukushima Shrine Otorii Gate. Our room also had a private onsen on the balcony which was an awesome inclusion!

The place was starting to look a little bit tired and needing a bit of maintenance. Overall was still a great stay

Seen some reviews going in but the standard of the place is what you except for Japan with cleaning. You’re paying for the experience and it is well worth it! Definitely recommend the rooms with the hot spring bath! Was the highlight for us. The property is surrounded by forest at the rear, so you’ll get bugs but we also spotted birds and wild deer, part of the charm of staying on a world heritage island. Staff were beyond helpful and lovely, I would suggest ignoring the reviews and enjoy the stay. The fact you can walk down from the hotel and have food overlooking the Grabd Torii and ocean is well worth it!

We stayed in the deluxe room with a private onsen (spa bath). The setup of the room was fantastic with a small shower before the onsen to quickly hop in and out of the bath throughout the day. The location is a 5 minute walk from the water which means it's nice and quiet away from the bars. It's also a short walk to the Itsukushima Jinja. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both were fantastic all you can eat buffets and with our room we had a special hot plate of abalone and vegetables cooked at our table which was delicious. The onsen was already being filled by the time we got to our room and operated without issue while we were there. Room had plenty of amenities and the drinks in the mini bar were all complimentary. There are plenty of good places to eat near by and a convince store within the hotel. I'm unsure why this place has as low of a rating as it does. It was a fantastic stay and I wished we stayed longer.

Nothing really, for those who can't read Japanese you may have a hard time with the bathroom/some signage but google translate can assist you there and this is something present throughout the less touristy parts of Japan.

The location was great. Just a short walk to shops, ferry and Torri Gate. The room was quite large as compared to other motels. Lovely outlook!

The food at breakfast, in the Bain Marie was cold. For non Japanese speaking people it was a little challenging. When checking in it would’ve been helpful to have instructions (for us in English)written on cards.

It was pure luxury. It was the most expensive accommodation we stayed at during our Japanese holiday, but worth every cent. We were in the largest sized room the hotel offers and had a private hot tub on the verandah and views of both foliage and water. We chose to have dinner and breakfast there. It was buffet and an extremely reasonable price. The food was excellent. I would recommend getting a taxi from the ferry terminal to the hotel, especially if you have luggage as it's up a steep incline and a fair walk from the ferry. The taxi fare is a set ¥660. Our limited Japanese was tested as there were no instructions for tv / air conditioner etc in English, but considering we are in Japan that's understandable. It would be the ideal place for a romantic getaway, but we also enjoyed it for our family holiday. We would definitely stay here again.

There was a full ashtray on the verandah when we arrived, however staff quickly removed it when advised. The heating was very noisy, so we turned it off once the room was warm (it was 6°C outside). There was a musty smell in the shower area.

The room was really cool. We had access to private onsen and took the hot bath. Same way on the room was some extra things like beer and water that we could enjoy with no cost.

The location of the hotel is good, but not good routes with Google Maps. The app sent me to take a big walk with the luggage. Other thing was a men on the front desk at the night that was a little too much rude.

The hotel is lovely, nice breakfast and dinner, great location, the island is wonderful if it doesn't rain excellent to explore in wet weather not so good we had one sunny day one wet day, nice bath on balcony, friendly & helpful staff

The hotel was expensive but offers a great experiment and the luxury to enjoy Miyajima on the evening, without the crow and enjoy the sunset and sunrise on the island. To room was huge and very clean, the bed very confortable. The hotel have a whole floor dedicated to well-being, with a salon, onsen, exterior pool, rock bath, karaoke room... That you can access anytime on the opening hour. They have also kimono at disposition at the entry, a little shop on the 1st floor.

The staff is nice but does not speak english, so be careful if you don't speak japanese.

The buffet dinner is a must at 4400 yen! Shabu-Shabu on demand that would have cost a fortune elsewhere and all you can eat Sashimi. The onsen in the room was fantastic and the room was very spacious. Staff don’t speak English. it did their best to help out using apps etc.

Could hear everything outside the rooms and the floor above. No sound proofing at all so would not be great if you have kids or want some privacy. The provided shoes were tiny and didn’t fit my husband or myself. Some dust around bottom of furniture, not well cleaned but not too bad.
