This accommodation had the BEST food and views we have ever experienced. The rooftop bath is a dream and I got to use it almost exclusively by myself because the hotel is small. The staff were fabulous. I would recommend staying here and using a direct ferry to Peace Park over staying in Hiroshjma and day-tripping to Miyajima. Iroha is well worth the high price tag.

My partner (now my wife) and I have always loved the view of the iconic torii gate in Miyajima. While looking for a highly rated hotel in the area, we came across ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA and decided it would be the perfect place to celebrate her birthday, and secretly, I was planning to propose to her on that special day. I initially reached out to the hotel just to ask if they offered any simple in-room proposal decorations. To my surprise, Haruka and Yuriko responded with so much enthusiasm and so many thoughtful ideas — from how to hide the ring box, to when they could prepare the room while we were out, to setting up a beautiful arrangement. On top of all that, they even upgraded our room as a surprise. It was all far more than I ever expected. A huge thank you to Haruka, Yuriko, and everyone at ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA. Your kindness, genuine warmth, and incredible attention to detail made this such an unforgettable experience for us. We’ll always remember how you helped us on one of the most important days of our lives — and we absolutely plan to come back. As for the hotel itself: the location couldn’t be better, just a short walk from Itsukushima Shrine. It means you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and stunning views both early in the morning and later at night. Our room was elegantly designed, with top-quality amenities and one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on. And the meals — dinner and breakfast — were as delicious as they were beautifully presented. This is the most memorable and enjoyable hotel stay I’ve ever had. I wholeheartedly recommend ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA to anyone looking for a truly special, relaxing experience in Miyajima.

Brilliant! The location is great, and once all the day trippers have gone it's lovely to have the island to ourselves. The hotel is gorgeous, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is excellent. A real highlight

Everything about our stay was perfect, the staff were very helpful and went out of their way to ensure that we had what we needed and to assist us with our daily plans arranging with local people bike hire and other activities. They also took great care to ensure that we had plenty of water and cooling clothes and were genuinely concerned for our welfare in the heat. Communication before our stay was also excellent. The views and location were also wonderful and enhanced our stay. The hotel while I believe was fully booked felt incredibly calm.

There was not anything that I didn't like except that we choose 1 Japanese breakfast and 3 western breakfasts which meant that our sone had to eat alone in the restaurant while we were upstairs in the buffet restaurant. I was able to sit with him after I had eaten but it was a little strange and I think if we had been told in advance that this would be the case we would have chosen differently.

We loved this beautiful hotel!! Everything was amazing! The service was fabulous! We were greeted by Haruka, who was really lovely and so helpful with information about what to see and where to eat on the island. The location was around a five minute walk from the ferry port, and right next to the main shopping and restaurant street, but was still very quiet and peaceful. We had a great view from our room towards the mountains. The main lounge and breakfast area had a fabulous view over the sea and the famous "floating tori" and a terrace to watch the stunning sunset. There were complimentary drinks and snacks in the main lounge, including wine in the evening. A western style breakfast was also included in our room rate, which we hadn't been expecting. Japanese style breakfast can be paid for in the high-end restaurant on the ground floor, where we ate a delicious set course meal in the evening. Our room was huge, clean, and comfortable. It was furbished in Japanese style, but the bed had a proper mattress and base, not just futons. There was a large ensuite bathroom with separate bath and shower. I believe there is a public bath on the roof too with a view over the bay. Would highly recommend this hotel, just wish we could have stayed longer!

We may have missed something, but the Japanese style blinds were quite thin and let a lot of light through from early in the morning (we are not early risers!). Not sure if there was a blackout blind hidden in a recess anywhere, but if so, we couldn't see it. Other than that, everything was really great!

The location and view from sea facing room was lovely. The room and hotel decor was beautiful. Very quiet. Rooftop public baths were very nice.

We arrived late afternoon at full tide. It would have been good if reception gave us some information about the Itsukushima floating shrine - it would have been fantastic to see it at full tide. We went very early the next morning but it was low tide. There was an English map for guests on the counter which we weren’t given on arrival. The Continental breakfast was simple, self-serve. We had everything we needed, however, for the price we paid for half-board, we expected more. Dinner was nice but again, we expected more for the price.

The staff were amazing. Very friendly and professional. We arrived before check-in to drop our bags and the lady at the reception sat with us recommending which places to visit and where to eat. She even offered to make a reservation for us in a restaurant. The gentleman was also very helpful and attentive. Both of them spoke very good and clear English. The room was very spacious and comfortable. One of the best hotel rooms I've stayed in. The rest of the facilities of the hotel were great too, especially the outdoor onsen on the roof top. The location couldn't be better, right on the main street. Because Miyajima is very quiet at night, the location was perfect to go out on a night walk and take great photos. This was the perfect stay.

Oh, Iroha…. Where do I begin? We were greeted by the friendliest and kindest front desk staff, both of the ladies were extremely welcoming and helpful. They asked about our dinner plans and book us a table at a wonderful place. As this was the first place in Japan with Onsen that we stayed at we were explained how to prepare and what are the rules. We went there in the late evening, it was empty and from the outside bath you could enjoy the amazing views of Itsikushima Shrine, just magical! Also we were given a free upgrade to queen suite which we did not expect at all and it was incredible. I could not recommend enough this place and staying at Miyajima Island over night in general. You can’t fully experience the unique charm and beauty of this place by coming just for few hours. Come for a night or two and stay at Iroha, I can guarantee it will be a highlight of your Japan trip! Thank you for having us!

Everything! From the moment that we dropped our bags off in the morning until our departure every detail was attended too. The receptionist staff kicked the stay at the ryokan with warmth, great information about the town, and drinks/snacks to begin our journey on the island. They gave us personal touches as it was my birthday, teaching us about onsen etiquette & how to dress in the yukata. The huge room overlooked the iconic torii. Then came the 10 course meal!!! It was the best we have had during our stay in Japan. We highly recommend this property.

The name in the booking site are in Japanese characters. This made us nervous as we wondered if it was legitimate. I recommend spelling it applicable language if you want to attract international guests.

It's by far the best hotel experience we had in Japan, after being in 4-5 other cities. The lounge facing ocean with sunset view is amazing, and the rooftop bath in the night overlooking the bay and the Tori is intimate and relaxing, after the crowd is gone. The staff is extremely caring and offered personalized advice to visit and dine out. We were late for check-out because of some delay with the ropeway, but the staff really cared about our wellbeing. Cherry on top, beds in Japan are usually very hard but this hotel gave me the best sleep!

If I really need to find one wish, it would be to have a blackout curtain. The current curtain is made of traditional Japanese paper fold like a fan, very beautiful and stylish, but doesn't block 100% of the light if you are sensitive. But for us this was very minor. Definitely a place I want to come back and enjoy some relaxing time out.
