A very cozy little guesthouse. The rooms are small, but just enough to store your baggage and sleep. There's a great kitchen with a bar table, a tea table and a carpet with heating under it. Free coffee and tea available. The host is very friendly and helpful with quite fluent English, we had some nice conversations, he told me a lot about Kanazawa and gave me some tips. Thank you very much, Urasaki-san!

The location, while being quite attractive, with traditional architecture, - is quite far away from the other notable places of Kanazawa, so you either have to take a bus, or walk for quite some time. It's rather cold inside the house during winter, which isn't a problem for the kitchen or living rooms with AC, but the rest of the house is really chilly

Shuji made us feel very welcome the moment we arrived. His warmth, friendliness and generosity as well as his local information and recommendations outshone any guide book or Google search. The entire place was spotlessly clean and cosy. Although the rooms were small, the bunks were comfortable with nice linen and cosy duvets and there was room for luggage. The common area was well stocked with everything needed to make a meal or tea and coffee. The location in the historical Higashi Chaya district was ideal. Easy to get to by bus from Kanazawa Station. Walking distance to a supermarket, Kenrokuen Gardens, museums, restaurants. Very quiet within Stella as well as where it is located.

The guest house was nice and clean, the bedroom was pretty cramped so it was a bit of a challege to do the beds but that's okay. The owner was super nice and gave us some advice on sight-seeing and when we said we're going back by night bus he recomended us a well-priced onsen near the station, where we ended up going and it totally saved us from cold wet weather.

There was a heater in common space and AC in the bedroom but the corridors were really cold and we didn't have any slippers. But it's a normal thing for japanese houses in winter because of the construction so you just need to be aware of it.

The host was super welcoming and friendly, gave me recommendations and even lent me rainboots for a day to help me get through Kanazawa's wet streets. He also put me in a tatami room instead of the stockbed room I'd booked, since it was free during my stay. Room, kitchen, shared bathrooms - the guesthouse was perfectly clean and everything worked. The location was also convenient, you step out of the house and immediately are in one of the pretty areas.

This was such a pleasant stay, we had a really wonderful time here. The host was tremendously kind, he met us at the check in time and spoke with us for a while, giving very helpful recommendations for sightseeing and food, as well as some really good maps. He also offered to book anything for us in Japanese while we were there. The bedding was super comfortable, with really nice blankets. The place itself was so cute, and in a really good location. Would absolutely stay here again!

Excellent, clean, and comfortable facilities with everything you need. Laundry is easy to access as well. Shuji san is very welcoming and helpful and went out of his way to help book a bus day trip and restaurants. Also located very well in close proximity to the Higashi Chaya district and easy access to the major attractions in Kanazawa. Beyond great value for the price. Absolutely recommend to any travellers.

No big issues.

The owner is honestly one of the best human you can meet. If you need help with anything, be sure he will be there to answer all of your questions. He got me a rented wheelchair and helped with hospital on a Sunday because I had an injured foot. I cannot thank him enough. Concerning the private room, it was small but perfect. Location was perfect as well

The noise can however bothers you if you are a light & early sleeper. The shower is on the other side of the wall, as well as an other private room and upstairs is a bunk bed room with people that seems to jump and knock on the ground very late. It was quiet around 11 pm to 7:30 am.

We had a wonderful stay at Guesthouse Stella thanks to our amazing host Shuji san, the set up at the guesthouse (beautifully decorated, clean, well stocked kitchen, comfortable and cozy bedding) which was incredibly clean and in a fantastic location. Thanks to Shuji for his kindness and helpfulness and welcoming us to Kanazawa. We had a great stay.

Clean and comfortable, great place to set out for seeing sights in Kanazawa, kind staff. The room was a great value and I slept well. Short walks to Higashi Chaya district and gold leaf museum.

I found it a bit difficult to get to from the JR station as when I arrived it was mostly bus routes to it, but I found the buses hard to navigate. The host did give me information on the buses, so not their fault, just a bit confusing. The room was nice but felt a bit bare.

A very beautiful guesthouse with amazing owner and staff. I felt incredibly welcome and the owner was really helpful, suggesting restaurants, sightseeing spots, and even recommending a sento 😊 The room was very comfortable and quiet. The kitchen is well-equipped and it's easy to do laundry. Towels and body wash & shampoo are provided.
