Zaimoku-an is exceptional! Perfect location to visit the must see sites of Kanazawa. Kenroku-en is virtually on your back doorstep. Bus stop nearby to get to and from the station. JR bus so you can use your suica card. Zaimoku-an is situated in a quite neighbourhood but close enough to walk to Oriental brewery for good beer and pizza or Kappa udon donsuki for delicious handmade udon. The house is beautiful with everything you need. A lovely deck to sit and relax outside and laundry facilities which we were grateful for. Comfy futons and pillows! Staff very friendly and accommodating.

This charming house was one of our best experiences in Japan. The very nice host Mr.Michio Shibano came to pick us up and explained the house rules. He gave us useful tips and advice for our sight seeing. Highly recommend a say here and also experience Kanazawa a beautiful city so diff from tokyo and kyoto.

Small suggestion. Our senior parents found it hard to do everything on the floor. If they could have ledges to keep suitcases it would be helpful. As they cant bend down frequently. Sleeping on the floor was fine for a night for them.

During our stay with a group of four adults, we loved the size of the apartment. The bedrooms were spacious and the batchroom & kitchen were well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the delicious coffee and the backery that is just next door. The location of the apartment was ideal, close to popular sightseeing spots and nearby bus stations. The check-in process was hassle-free and the host extremely friendly. Overall, our stay was fantastic and we highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable stay.

Gorgeous guest house with everything you could need for your stay. Nicely positioned close to key tourist spots, while still tucked away enough to feel like authentic. Michio was a great host, picking us up from the station, pointing out key places along the way and making sure we settled into the house nicely. Our only complaint was a faint smell from the toilet, but it really didn’t detract much from the overwhelmingly positive experience!

The owner provided a complimentary pick-up at Kanazawa Station for my family of 6 pax with 7 luggages. The location was within 5 mins walk to a convenient family mart, within 10-15 walk to the Castle, Kenrɓokuen Garden and Higashi Chaya District. Oh, and we all loved the heated floors, especially for the icy weather. Yakuta was provided too. There's PlayStation too for the kids,

The host met us at the train station and drove us to the home. He then explained all the house amenities which was incredibly helpful. The house was even bigger then we expected, was so comfortable for our family of 5 (3 large teenagers), and everything was perfect. There was even fresh coffee beans for freshly brewed coffee, everything was walking distance, the castle and Gardens were 5min away, the old district only 10min. Highly recommend this property.

We were instructed how difficult to make a reservation for taxi. So we tried to use bus to train station. But we were waiting at a wrong bus stop twice. No buses showed up so started walking with luggage but fortunately a taxi came and caught a reserved train at Kanazawa station.

Location, quiet, great facilities. Easy to walk to all the sights.. easy 30 minute walk along river to train station. Many restaurants nearby. Great little corner store within 50m. Bakery next door! Coffee beans and grinder provided. Thank you Michio for pick up from station on arrival.

The place is just amazing. Location is perfect. The owner is great and a huge help for anyone who has never been to Kanazawa before. Highly recommend this place.

The automatic lights in the hall way are a little to bright and can’t turn them off because you need them if you go to the bathroom at night. But the lights will wake you up for sure
