When I arrived, I was greeted warmly and offered some local tea to enjoy as I was checked in. The staff were very warm and thoughtful and included some possible activity recommendations while checking in. The room was absolutely beautiful with plenty of space. The tub included jets and they provided two types of bath salts complimentary. I had also spent my birthday here where they were kind enough to offer a free sake tasting to celebrate. The location is right next to Kanazawa Castle and Omicho Market making it super easy to walk around and explore.
I wished there had been maybe one or two more laundry machines.

An ideal location within walking distance from everything but set back from Main Street. Nearby area had beautiful quiet shrines and a lovely approach to castle gardens. Rooms nicely designed and immaculately clean. Good (not impossibly hard) beds and bedding. Like many Japanese hotels rooms are long and narrow with only limited light unless you get a suite. We had a room with a small covered balcony which was nice to have and eat outside. Very happy with this hotel and great value.
Relatively limited amenities in room for a Japanese hotel (tea, coffee, bath products etc). A very minor thing!

UAN Kanazawa was one of my favorite stays during the trip - beautifully designed with a calm, refined atmosphere. The rooms and common spaces were spotless, and the attention to detail in the design made it feel both modern and thoughtfully curated. Staff were consistently kind and professional, and the location is excellent - quiet but very central, with easy access to Kenroku-en, Omicho Market and the Samurai District. Extras like the complimentary evening soba and refreshing tea in the lobby added a thoughtful touch. Overall, it’s a place that feels well cared for - stylish, serene, and warm. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kanazawa.

Modern hotel with all the personal touches of a ryokan eg loungewear provided for indoor use and Japanese/Western breakfast offered, therefore the best of both worlds. Extra touches including 24-hour access to non alcoholic drinks eg coffee/tea/juices. Free noodles offered between 9-11pm in beautiful lounge/bar area where we had a trio of sake tasting. Accommodation was large with fantastic wet room with jacuzzi bath which was very welcome after a long day. Very modern and clean facilities eg dyson hairdryer. Last but certainly not least, the staff were very welcoming and always greeted us with a smile.
Nothing. We were pleasantly surprised at what the hotel had to offer.

It was a wonderful stay at the UAN hotel. It was the only hotel on our trip that had great concierge service. We got super great dinner recommendations. Isme (sp?) was so helpful about everything - she made our trip much better.
Breakfast I thought was not as good as a couple of the other hotels in other cities that we stayed in. My complaint is minor - It was very good breakfast. The room was good and comfortable but also not quite as good as a couple of the other hotels we stayed in. Again my complaint is minor. We were very comfortable These are very very minor complaints.

Location was great: very close to shops and the Market and within walking distance of the Castle and main museums. Small hotel but very carefully designed and pleasant with interesting artwork in the Reception and Lounge area. Rooms and bathroom were good and very comfortable bed (especially after futons on the floor!). Good air-conditioning-- very necessary for cooling down after a busy day of sightseeing in the heat! Excellent breakfast, beautifully presented with choice of Japanese or Western breakfast. Hot and cold drinks available in the lounge and in the evening small bowls of soup udon were offered in the Lounge with the chance to drink sake with some interesting tasting suggestions for the uninitiated. Excellent helpful staff. And a Laundry room with 2 washing machines!
After using the washing machines an iron and ironing board would have been useful! A helpful map of nearby eateries was given on request. Not entirely accurate and would be useful if it indicated where staff did or did not speak English.

We stayed for two nights and it was a pleasant spot to recoup and rest for the evening. Our room was clean, a bit rough around the edges but nothing serious. The balcony would've been fabulous, but it was freezing and snowing! Still lovely to have the option to go outside. The bathroom was really nice, with great amenities! Lovely bath that had jets and a shoulder fountain. It was really modern and we were given pleanty of toiletries. The bed however was TINY, but more so the sheets didn't fit properly and duvet didn't cover us while we were sleeping. The location was great, only a short walk to the main street and castle. The breakfast was really yummy!
Please provide the bed with sheets and duvets that properly fit the size of the bed.

This wonderful boutique hotel is a true gem . Everything exceeded our expectations. From the moment you enter this sanctuary, you don't want to leave. The ambience, the art work, the thoughtful room design with absolutely everything at your fingertips. The staff are simply divine and the breakfast is a beautifully presented tray of locally sourced provisions. At night, there's a free serving of delicious soba noodles to end your day. All day coffee, tea, juice etc. as well. Fabulous position next door to the castle and gardens. I wished we stayed longer.
The fact that we had to leave after only 2 nights.

The location - tucked away in a side street but close enough/within walking distance to the main road, Kanazawa castle and Kenrokuen Garden, market and downtown. The staff - very warm and hospitable. They even called us a cab so that we can be on time for our early morning tour to Shirakawa-go. The interiors - very Zen and modern The traditional Japanese breakfast - delicious The amenities - simple, room is quite spacious for Japan, everything you need is there; I like the bath tub and Dyson hair dryer Safety - the hotel seems very popular with women and families
The towels are thin

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was very good and abundant. We had the Japanese breakfast twice and the Western breakfast twice-- more than we could eat. The location was good, we walked or took an Uber to get to places of interest.
The only negative is that we had a lovely patio with table and chairs, but no view, as there was a building butting up right to our patio and we could only see the side building's wall.
